Report: NJ Residents Are Not Surrendering ‘High Capacity’ Magazines to State Police
Standard Capacity Magazine
AWR Harkins
A report from Reason reveals not a single New Jersey resident has surrendered their “high capacity” magazines to state police since the implementation of the magazine ban.
Breitbart News reported that New Jersey’s “high capacity” magazine ban took effect December 11, 2018, making the mere possession of such a magazine a fourth degree felony.
At first, the New Jersey State Police refused to rule out door-to-door enforcement of the ban, then made clear that they had no plans to go house-to-house.
Don’ NEED no steeken magazine.
On December 15, 2018, former NYC police commissioner Bernard Kerik blasted the magazine ban because it also applies to off-duty police officers, too. In other words, off-duty officers cannot legally use magazines holding more than 10 rounds while off the clock.
Like New York, Maryland, and others, people are ignoring these unconstitutional, unenforceable laws.Read the rest of the article at: Breitbart News

The leftist Powers That Be in New Jersey (to include the fat RINO Christy) likely started to make plans for confiscation, only to have most of their street cops say something along the lines of, “Yeah, fuck that. Do it yourself,” when they started briefing them.
Tim, our county sheriff flat refuses to acknowledge these laws- he was re-elected in a landslide last November.
Believe it or not, we have some Sheriffs in CA who are on record as saying they will not enforce any laws that they determine are unconstitutional.
Good to hear. If it can happen here in the PDRofMD, CDR_D, it can happen anywhere good people live and exercise their God given Liberties.
Quite a few Oregon Sheriffs have ssid the same thing. Of course, they are almost all east of the Cascade mountains, or south of the Willamette Valley.
Even in counties whose sheriffs haven’t pledged to uphold the Constitution against illegal actions, there’s plenty of good deputies who will uphold it for them.
Fwiw, “that fat rino” is not the NJ Governor anymore, they’ve got a real-life Leftist who never met a tax increase he didn’t like.
And in the fat RINO’s defense, he did intervene several times when legal, out-of-state gun owners strayed into New Jersey’s draconian firearms laws.
Worked in Colorado. Can still buy 30 round magazines at my local shop. They don’t even hide them.
Somebody here reported their shop in CO had a large bin of 30rd mags with a sign on the front reading “Standard Capacity Magazines”.
Love it
Umm, note the caption under the top pic, Mason.
Standard cap mags are readily available just across the border in Virginia, too. No law in the PDRofMD against possessing them, just selling or trading them.
Yeah, me to. Go figure.
Wait until January, when the MGA “Useful Idiot Convention” convenes again in Annapolis. The usual suspects will go “Hold my beer, Jersey, and watch this…”
Oh. Shit. What else can they pass that will be ignored and unenforced? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Strangely, there are only magazines with pictures in them in my house. Some of them are up to 75 pages long, printed on both sides.
Does that make them high capacity magazines?
I should have kept all my art magazines. Those were up to 100 pages, loaded on both sides with print. That company is out of business now, thanks to the interference net.
I recall on deployment some mags had sort of a tri-fold affair in the center. These were very popular for some reason.
*grin*
“The only difference between nakes and “nudes” is the staples in the middle”. –
Bruce Willis on ‘Moonlighting’
Those girls with staples in their belly buttons were the girls that charles w used to date. He marked them with a red swingline.
I also take it that NOT even a single criminal has gone to turn his, her or its magazines in either!
And not a single crime prevented, either.
Point taken API, but in the eyes of the NJ Governor ALL who possess standard capacity mags are now felons.
Molon Labe, mofo.
What about Spodofora? Did he comply?

Sorry, three links is the limit.
But there is much more out there.
Whoops. FNG tab says one or two.
Don’t taze me bro.
As long as no moderator was involved in approving the comment you’re golden, 26L.
When nyc had the ban on no more than ten rds in a mag, we were using S&W 4046’s (.40) which were factory 12 rd mags. we were told to only load ten rds into the mag because if we didn’t and were involved in a robbery shootout, we could be arrested on the ten rd only ban. The NYPD had to get a waiver for their ten + round mags. I think that the company tried to get a waiver but were denied.
Sometimes you just lose count.
Gunmetal blue S&W Model 29 in .44 Magnum, what a beautiful gun. I’ve read how these left the shelves in droves after that movie, got fired once, and were quietly put back in the safe, never to be shot again.
Shame, that.
That happened to mine. I bought it from my LGS about 10 min. after a very slightly built fellow bought it back and traded it in. He claimed that he had not fired it more than three times. Too nasty for him. Traded it in on a short barreled .38. The .44 Rem Mag is not for the faint of heart or people with pipe cleaner arms.
I wore out a Super Blackhawk that I bought new in 73. The .44 mag is indeed a dificult round to handle. You cannot keep the gun on target as each shot requires bringing the muzzle back down from verticle. Callahan demonstrates the effect perfectly.
You’ll have to explain how you wore out one of the most indestructible guns on the planet.
Fair enough.
The finish was down to patina and the cylinder to forcing cone clearance was beyond spec. It was ejecting lead through the gap thus cutting my hand.
I sent it to Ruger to be refinished and repaired but they advised it be destroyed and replaced with a new one at less than half price. I took the deal and they sent me a new Hunter model with a ribbed barrel.
Not the first time Ruger has done this for me. Last time was a “Deerfield” carbine with a cracked receiver. They replaced it with a “200th year of liberty” model in 1976.
Subsequently lost in a fire.
I sent the charred corpse back to them and they replaced it with a lever action .44 at a deep discount. Which I sold.
Or, I could have just said I shoot a lot.

I’ll buy that shoot a lot line! Essentially you had to have stretched the frame…you must run hotter loads than I.
So if a cop is issued a greater than 10 mag to carry on duty, what’s he supposed to do with it when he gets off duty? Swap mags and leave the “illegal” one in his locker? Seriously??
Maybe the cops are supposed to leave their issued mags in their cars – the ones with the bubblegum lights.
What about investigators and such who are subject to reporting to crime scenes from home? They must go by the station to retrieve their mags? Great idea. Keep all the folks at the scene waiting, and delay the start of the investigation.
Just another lefty crack pot idea. Make another stupid law with no regard for how it impacts real people. Or maybe creating stupid ideas which force normal, sane people to undo them is the whole idea – keep everyone busy on useless stuff instead of solving real problems.
Wonder how much of our time each day is wasted figuring out how to get things done in spite of all the lefty loons.
Well as far as liberals are concerned, Cops are Felons and criminals already. So, I guess it doesn’t matter?
This may be more accurate than anyone wants to believe.
Gee, ya mean even the cops can’t have more than 10 bullets to work with? Well, what if they have more than one mag? Isn’t that kind of – I don’t know, maybe dimwitted?
And what about criminals with guns? Are they subject to checks on these things?
Stop that rational argument stuff, Ex. It frightens the ‘flakes and makes them go hide in their safe places.
Barney only had one bullet he kept in his pocket.
The reason NYPD went to semi auto handguns is that when they used .38 cal wheel guns, there was a shoot out between a Police officer and a perp in Far Rockaway Queens where the LEO was firing his weapon and when he ran out, he re loaded after he ejected the rounds into his hand to put the expended case in his pocket as at the time they were taught at NYPD’s Rodmens Neck shooting range. The perp just came over to the LEO with a semi auto and shot him in the head. That is when the NYPD went over to semi auto handguns. I typed this from memory so maybe someone could research it for me and see if my comment is correct. I think the incident took place by the Far Rockaway Projects.
I believe CHP had a similar incident back in the day. If memory serves, one of the officers involved reloaded his wheelgun during the fight, then immediately started policing his brass as he was always expected to do on the range. Muscle memory got him killed.
The incident you’re thinking of took place in Newhall CA
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newhall_incident
We were taught about the Newhall Incident in POST academy. The pocket the brass story is just that, a story. It didn’t happen that way. https://www.policeone.com/officer-shootings/articles/5504658-Setting-the-record-straight-on-the-Newhall-Incident/
The FBI went through a similar event causing them to rethink carry weapons.
This amazing new law sounds like the work of a 1911 fanboy. Or a gun hating commie.
And you don’t fool me with that belt fed AR. The fire selector only goes to semi.
The issue at hand is magazines, Frank. Not NFA firearms. Do try and keep up.
Never heard of double stack .45s?
The Philippine Army recently adopted a double-stack 1911 by Armscor as their issues sidearm.
What no lefty politician seems to be considering in the passing of these restrictive attempts at gun control is how such laws are going to create a huge number of scofflaws among the citizenry. And as history has shown, once citizens become contemptuous of laws and the governmental institutions that promulgate them, they find it easier to disregard more and more of the constraints placed upon them by those same governments. Passing laws that no one respects or observes is frequently a precursor to social upheaval and even revolution.
Strange how politicians never seem to grasp that…
Twice in one day.
“Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.”
Burke
That damfool “National 55mph” law turned millions into willing outlaws.
Not good.
NJ is now going to have to put up or shut up. Count on them making some really harsh examples to drive compliance. Someone is going to get bankrupted and destroyed. Someone is going to go up for max time in prison. Someone is going to get SWAT raided, and probably killed.
And if -that- doesn’t frighten the masses into servile obedience, what then?
And those actions if carried out (the last one in particular) will most likely have the unintended effect of only making the masses even bolder and potentially angrier than they already are. Now that’s really playing a very dangerous game with dire consequences and an equally stupid prize for those arrogant and foolish enough to play it.
The history of this country shows us that George III’s attempts to squelch the colonists and force them into compliance did not work in his favor.
Quartering troops in private housing without compensation – is that going to come up? Yes, it’s illegal – violates the US Constitution. Look it up, but when you have fools running the show, they tend to forget such things.
Stamp Tax Act – Will we see another Tea Party-like response to such governmental abuses, like the response at Griffith’s Wharf in Boston Harbor?
Is there going to be another asinine attempt by a state government to squelch the rights of people like the Boston Common massacre, and the Kent State shootings?
When are these morons going to learn that THEY DO NOT OWN US?
The more you tighten your grip, you heinous fools, the more the People of the United States will slip through your fingers.
“Quartering troops in private housing without compensation – is that going to come up? Yes, it’s illegal – violates the US Constitution. Look it up”
Amendment the third.
I remember somebody telling me something about how it’s only a weak leader who gives orders he knows nobody will obey. It’s basically an admission that they have no authority.
Yeah, well, I also cook. 🙂
That sounds like the Red Flag law that went into effect in the PDR_MD in October. First fatality happened in early November. People are still talking about it. But it’s fo the chilluns…
It will become an “add on charge.” (Similar to resisting without force or “resisting” when your muscles tense.)
It will be an excuse to take kids away from parents or at least investigate them further.
It will be an excuse to get a warrant to search homes when the mags are seen at a range by some one.
It’s a throwaway law for plea deals, to scare people and to make law abiding citizens criminals.
Anyone have a trace on who makes that belt fed upper?
I’m considering a registered M16 as my midlife crisis gun yet scoff at the price for a SHRIKE.
I know, “but you’ll eat the price in ammo!”
Just let me take it one step at a time. It could be a good investment to sell when the novelty wears off.
here ya go….
https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/receivers/upper-receivers/mcr-belt-fed-upper-receiver-full-auto-prod86794.aspx
Only $4195.00
Fuck.
Then again, if I’m dumping $18K into a novelty then what’s another 6 months of food and gas?
Thanks, buddy!
“In other words, off-duty officers cannot legally use magazines holding more than 10 rounds while off the clock.”
I can’t wait for the headline, “NJ State Police Arrest One Another.”
That might be what it takes to get the law overturned. Of course, finding a cop to be the Homer Plessy of the case and ride a desk for the duration would be pretty much impossible.
There’s no way they’d take that risk. They’d be rotting in jail while the case took the mandatory three year trip to the Supreme Court, and there’s no telling what they’d decide because although they’ve supported 2A as a whole, they’ve resisted ruling on states’ rights to limit possession of certain pieces of equipment, meaning the state law would be upheld.
I see you actually making a point, LCpl Rhodes. Congrats, 2.
It appears the descendants of the British Loyalists have raised their ugly head in NY, NJ and Maryland once again.
Does that mean NO factory mags over 10 rounds or can they be standard mags ‘pinned’ to 10 like here in the P.R. Kanada?
It’s the most retarded law ever. Up here ‘permanently’ limited to 10rnds means a simple pop rivit that can be drilled out quicker that it takes to load the damn thing!
They allow pop rivet guns in Canada?
The horror!
Gun laws don’t have to make sense, you just have to obey. When, not if, you don’t the State will make sure to find a nice place for you to rest.
They know what is right, just and fair.
They have always known.
You are just in denial.
Assimilate.
Believe that is what it means. Only factory 10 round magazines. They can say, You can take the pin out! Oh the Horror!
I live in the DPRM and we are limited to 10-Round Magazines. Unless they were manufactured before the 1994 AWB. They put an AWB in when the Republicans won the house and the Dems here were afraid they were going to overturn the AWB. So, the DPRM Dems decided to double down on Stupid. So I carry a Glock with very old magazines.
[…] This ain’t Hell… notes that no one is turning in their high capacity magazines in NJ […]
Resistance is Futile!
You will serve the collective!
Never surrender your guns to the demands of a bunch of spoiled liberal democrats who travel around protected by well armed goons and live in big mansions with fancy alarm systems to protect them just tell them your not going to surrender your guns and ammo for anything and if you want another RUBY RIDGE/WACO incedent then look out for the backlash
