Man shoots teen suspect during attempted carjacking in North Carolina
by: Rodney Overton
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A teen suspect with a gun was shot Sunday night during an attempted carjacking at a motel near Crabtree Valley Mall off Glenwood Avenue at Interstate 440, police said. The shooting was reported just after 8:50 p.m. along Arrow Road at the Red Roof Inn, according to the Raleigh Police Department.
The incident involved a man whose car was in the Red Roof Inn parking lot, police said. A 17-year-old boy with a gun tried to carjack the man’s sedan and fired at least one shot during the incident, according to police.
However, the would-be victim was also armed and fired back — hitting the teenage suspect, Raleigh police said.

Can’t tell the players without a program. Thanks again, Gun Bunny.
The gun was always loaded, and always above the door so that Pa could get it quickly and easily, any time he needed a gun.

Ahhhh…..’Ed is getting back to good looking steel-and-wood guns. Feels nice.
Too bad the pistol shown wasn’t in a caliber with a minimum bore of “38Spl/357Mag”.
Well done, ‘Ed, thank you.
One can only hope that our Beloved AW1Ed has gotten the fugly out of his system for awhile. Sadly…it is almost time for the plasticized abominations to show up…again!

I’ll go out on the limb here in CC Tx and say that what we have is the trash trying to take out the trash. What cha wanna bet that the Ms Thang mentioned had something to do with it all?
Over the door, propped in the corner of the room, on the nightstand, coffee table (next to the binder of T2NB2AGF), in the vehicle(s), on your belt, ankle holster, jacket pocket…one never knows when one may need…or where one will be.
Too bad Mr Red Roof driver didn’t take that one more TSS on the carjacking teen, save everyone a lot of time and money on hospitalization, incarceration, trial, appeals, and imprisonment.
The only downside would be the fambly of the carjacker. Now who’s going to provide the fambly income?
Good stuff

Can’t argue with accurate history.
Fast is fine.
Accuracy is final.
And for the love of Western Movies, NEVER respond to a foe with;
“I’m your ‘Delta Dawn-Honeysuckle Rose, Zip-a-dee-doo-rag’ “.
It’s the wrong thing to say, sounds prissy, and will get you killed before Doc Holliday can get to you and say; “You are a maroon”.
This is a positive “feel good” story.

PSA: I’ve had a .22 Semi Auto for years and wanted a revolver to complement it. I bought a Heritage Rough Rider that came with a .22wmr cylinder as well as the .22lr. Got it on sale and it was inexpensive…and plagued by failures to fire. At least one, usually two or three, shots per cylinder would not go bang the first time the hammer fell on it, happened with both the lr and the wmr cylinder. Come to find out this is a common problem with these revolvers and the fix is to order a replacement hammer spring from Heritage. The replacement spring is actually thicker and stiffer than the one that comes in the gun. I actually didn’t shoot it enough to decide it was the gun rather than the ammo until the warranty had almost expired already. I e-mailed them about the problem and they just never bothered to respond. Not impressed. Either way I’d have probably had to pay for shipping and I’m not sure it would have been worth it for a gun that only cost about $120 to begin with. So, if your going to buy one of these revolvers plan on replacing the hammer spring and just order one from the jump. It wasn’t expensive (about $12 if I remember correctly) and is easy to change…but I have to say if I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t have bought the Heritage product and I can guarantee I’ll never buy anything from Heritage again. They obviously know there’s a problem or the replacement part wouldn’t be different than what ships in the gun, but they don’t fix it and they don’t respond when you try to contact them about it. Ruger makes a .22 revolver that isn’t much more expensive than Heritage’s product; based on my experiences with Ruger, I’d assume it’s way better made and I’ve always been satisfied with Ruger’s customer service. The Heritage works fine now that I’ve replaced the hammer spring, but I may sell it or trade it in and get the Ruger .22 revolver just… Read more »
I held on oncet at the local Academy and was underwhelmed with the fit of the wood grips. Gave it back to the salesman. Your experience confirms my skepticism.
I’m in agreement with the probability of the Ruger being better made.
We sold a boatload of the Heritage guns, and while roughly made and with nasty orangish grips, they shot well. The Ruger Wrangler is a step up, both in quality and price. To me it’s worth it, ymmv.
Well, I looked up your problem online and found out what yer problem wuz…
You bought a CAP GUN you dope!!!!

“I didn’t pull the trigger. All I did was pull the hammer back and pull the trigger while I said; ‘is that okay? is that okay?’–and without my pulling the trigger, the gun went off, even though there was no bullet in the round thing that holds the bangy thing that has the lead stuff that comes out of that long tube at the front that makes smoke and fire.
But suddenly I heard a loud bangy like noise that made me jump back, and the gun jump back, and the girl jump back, and everyone else start screaming…
My goodness gracious and lack of God…I almost spilled my Latte` I was so emotionally startled for a second. Well, once I found out what had happened, I of course told everyone to take an hour to recover, and I went to my trailer and called my lawyer to see what kind of trouble we might be in…and as soon as he told me I might just possibly be facing charges of doing something kind of wrong…well, I got really nervous and had to sit down for another hour in my trailer and call my masseuse.”
Good?!?
It’s a start.
17 year old car jacke—excuse me, ATTEMPTED carjacker, learned his gun skills online, or from “Gangstah” movies where you “aim yo’ strap” by holding it sideways so it looks bad ass and ghetto, and cappin’ a warnin’ at yo’ target, yo.”

Problem being that doing so moves your sights out of your SIGHT ALIGNMENT AND SIGHT PICTURE, so you can’t hit anything within a distance of 1 to 2 feet. To which I say, the NRA should offer classes to the disadvantaged youth of America’s criminal class in how to handle weapons in the stupidest manner possible so they can’t hit their own ass with a map and compass.
