Mexican News Outlet: 14,000 Honduran Migrants Heading to U.S.

| October 24, 2018

I have no idea what the purpose in all these people marching toward the U.S. is all about.  Maybe it has something to do with them not wanting to live in a “shit hole”.

The Mexican El Universal news outlet is reporting that more than 14,000 Hondurans — not counting people from other countries who are marching toward the United States — are leaving that Central American nation to seek asylum here.

“That is an assault on our country,” Trump said during a rally with supporters in Houston, Texas on Monday.

The government of Mexico would not be helping to organize this nonsense, would they?

“…The government of Mexico would not be helping to organize this nonsense, would they?…”

Probably with technical guidance from Angela Merkel and financial assistance from George Soros via the Venezuelans…

Deckie

Those they interviewed in the caravan say they’re marching to the U.S. to escape persecution and unemployment.

If that’s the case then I gotta ask… why are they marching north with the flags of their home country then?

Rhetorical question… obviously.

Anonymous

Conquest, comrade! Is whole plan, you know…

MSG Eric

In Mother Russia, Flags wave YOU!

Deckie

Hah!

It just struck me as odd. My relatives didn’t come here waiving Soviet flags… Jews didn’t flee Germany waving Nazi flags…

Sigh… migraine

HMCS(FMF) ret

I wonder how many of them are fleeing that “socialist paradise” called Venezuela?

LIright47

From the looks of them, they’d fit right in with the homeless assholes in San Francisco.

HMCS(FMF) ret

The former poster here at TAH that went by the name “Commissar” would be willing to take them all in.

Sea Dragon

How about they turn around and march on their own governments to demand change?

5th/77th FA

Now that’s a novel approach. Wonder why no one in history has ever tried that idea?…..”to force change.” FIFY

Deckie

Their own governments are inept and corrupt.

If they did demand change or overthrow their governments it’d just be more of the same.

Anonymous

Too much work, too little Free Sh*t…

SFC D

Their governments have all the guns.

Haywire Angel

Put them on a plane and take them back to where they started from! Let them do the whole thing again, lol.

Jeff LPH 3, 63-66

I’ll welcome them under the one stipulation that 14,000 liberals would have to have them living in their homes and support them by monetary means, but according to liberal philosephy, they should be welcomed to this country but not be living next to me, So I’ll retract my welcome to these peeps and they can go and scratch or live with soros.

MSG Eric

They won’t do that because then it wouldn’t be “Free” to take care of the refugees.

OWB

Somebody thinks that letting who knows who from who knows where carrying God only knows what diseases unfettered into this country makes sense, but those folks are not sane. Those same somebodies acknowledge that every other country on the planet deserves secure borders, but for some unfathomable reason, we don’t.

The days of allowing the inmates to rule the asylum must be stopped.

What if we required blood tests, maybe some MRI’s, to at least identify which of these people are ill? Couldn’t be that carriers crossing the southern border are responsible for the resurgence of illnesses previously eradicated in the US and the mysterious new ones? Naw. Couldn’t be.

Ex-PH2

Isn’t the Mexican government always looking for cheap labor?

Honduras? I thought they were all coming from Guatemala. Does that mean those borders somehow shifted without notifying us?

Cowpill

Lets call it what it is, an invasion force. They should be dealt with accordingly.

If it comes to that, there’re ways:

Sparks

Roger that!

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Only if they are blaring ‘The End’ from speakers as they nape em.

Damn, the GWOT’s soundtrack was NOWHERE near as good as Vietnam’s. I feel screwed!

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

I’m waiting for a fried bean joke…..

Ex-PH2

Oh, come on! They all heard there were jobs up here and they want some, too. McD’s is probably going to be putting up kiosks at a lot of its outlets before long, so that’s out. And Aldi only hires a few people at a time, and you have to be LEGAL to work for them, so that’s out, so these lost souls are going to find themselves on the street, just like back home.

How did this head count go from 5,000 a few days ago to 14,000 now?

MSG Eric

All we need to do is give them jobs and they won’t become terrorists or criminals….

Ex-PH2

Are you channeling Marie Harf now?

Although denied by people such as Jorge Ramos at Univision, the current so-called “immigrant caravan” is showing strong evidence of being an orchestrated invasion. It’s simply not plausible 14,000 people who claim to be impoverished would, on the verge of a mid-term U.S. election, suddenly decide on a spontaneous march of 1,000 miles with no logistic support.

It raises the question: Who is actually paying the bills for the march, and what is the end game?

An answer to the second question is that there could be separate agendas at work. For the marchers, the goal might be due to the perception, true or not, that being fed and sheltered while on the move in Mexico is better that being hungry and homeless in Honduras or wherever. Another perceived long-shot gamble might be the prospect of actually getting granted asylum in the U.S.

The agenda for those organizing the march, on the other hand, could be different: Use the marchers as pawns to provoke a confrontation over the issue of open borders. If the march erupts in violence, so much the better for the ratings of a news media already at odds with the Trump administration. Such an agenda would also seem to make an implied assumption that American public opinion doesn’t have the mettle to support what needs to be done to keep illegals out if confronted on a large scale.

Mason

It does seem strange that all the video of this gang, mob, or caravan shows them getting handed food and water bottles as they pass. Like a marathon runner. Certainly would appear they are getting logistical support from somewhere.

At first glance, this would appear to bolster the Republican side in the election as a horde literally invades from the south.

However, they will be scheduled to arrive somewhere right around election day. Since the authorities won’t open fire on the “migrants” and will assuredly let them process through like the last group, it’ll be a big talking point about Trump’s “failure” to fix immigration issues. Which could help the Democrats.

With the Democrats pathological love of illegal immigration, I tend to believe the latter assessment.

timactual

,”… they will be scheduled…”

Yep. It’s hard enough to keep trained troops in formation on that kind of march, let alone untrained civilians including women, children, and infants. Someone is giving orders.

Mason

Well if the NY Post is to be believed, here’s the man responsible:

https://nypost.com/2018/10/23/meet-the-man-behind-the-migrant-caravan-headed-to-us/

Allegedly it all started with fake news.

Perry Gaskill

Dunno, Mason. In order for the NY Post story to be fake news, a person would need to assume that the Honduran ex-lawmaker is telling the truth when denying an “assistance” comment. Something which can’t be considered a given.

It seems to me the NY Post story also had the dual problems of being poorly written and burying what should have been the nut graf:

“This is a battle,” Fuentes said, “between the government and the ones who want to fight — for the truth and for a better country that people can live in.”

Which country is Fuentes talking about? Honduras or the U.S.? And if he’s talking about Honduras, why should our country get caught up in the pissing contest, and where’s the logic in fighting for a better Honduras by leaving?

David

Had exactly the same thought. If they are fighting for their country WHAY ARE THEY LEAVING IT?

timactual

” It’s simply not plausible…”

Amen. My limited experience with such matters tells me someone is supplying many tons of food, water, and other support on a regular basis. Especially for the small children we see so much of. This requires large amounts of money and an extensive organization, made even more complex since the column is moving.

Too bad there is no “investigative journalist” available to cover all this; it sure seems to be prime time, Emmy-winning documentary material to me.

And does anyone think that, if this march succeeds, it will be the last?

Mason

Concertina wire, hidden dead fall traps, and a moat of burning used motor oil. You make it through, you get to file.

We really just need to start up a US Foreign Legion ala the French. You want in? Do a few years of harsh service. Looking at the so-called “caravan”, the majority are of military age and if they can walk 2k miles, they are of physical capability to serve.

Jeff LPH 3, 63-66

The fence should have been electrified.

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

“March or Die” comes to mind

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Or, a Liberian Askari unit. They were pretty much the first US colony. They would do great, as long as you don’t mind a little cannibalism.

NHSparky

I had to listen to the double-dong assclown team of Anderson Cooper and Jorge Ramos on CNN last night.

If bullshit were candy, every fucking day would be Christmas for them.

Grunt

“double-dong assclown team”

Dude. I’m fucking stealing that! 😂😂

Bim

You know, perhaps we need to rethink this whole thing. Libs are pushing the issue so close to the midterms because they need the support from those on the fence that will be ‘offended’ by a tough stance on the border or manipulated by the press into thinking we are being heartless instead of just -you know- following the fucking rule of law.

Here’s an idea: Just let them in. Get them at the border and bus them directly to San Fran or Sacramento where they can live with the people that care so much about this problem. ID all 14,000 of them, have them write down why they are leaving their respective shithole, and tell them “if we catch you crossing the border into another state, you can expect to be separated, jailed, prosecuted, and sent back home with the note you just wrote glued to your forehead. Best of luck.”

Then just give it a few weeks. I suspect the residents and talking heads will suddenly realize that all theses people look homesick and it would be cruel to keep them here any longer.

2/17 Air Cav

This is only the first parade. More will follow, especially if as many as 100 of the army of stink make it inside our border. These people are escaping war? No. Political persecution? No. Famine? No. They just want to come here but want to do so in violation of international agreement and US law. Oh. Okay. What the hell?

5th/77th FA

Yep, just gonna get worse. Start loading up Puff and Spooky. Throw in some predators, Apaches, or hell, just call up the Armored Corps out at Hood. Somebody funding, pushing this whole thing. Nobody can set out to cover 1k + miles without some type of idea where the next drink of water is coming from. How quick would these countries close their borders if `14K + started marching on them?

NHSparky

Funny how when it’s potentially GOP voters seeking asylum, the usual suspects who WERE open border advocates wanted no part of letting in, say, Cubans or Vietnamese refugees?

UpNorth

The dems would demand that Trump electrify concertina, deploy all of the military and put alligators and piranha in the Rio Grande if they thought, for a second, that the caravan would all cross into the U.S. and vote Republican.

Andy11M

Illegal immigration is a off let valve for Central and South American country’s. In the past these people would have over thrown their own governments or forced change, now they just pack up and head north. Not a single one of those countries will do a thing to stop this.

Mason

Article is behind a paywall, but I’ll assume it’s cause those immigrants actually had helped the US instead of being a subversive anti-American element.

2/17 Air Cav

Every parent of a minor on that trek ought to be charged with child abuse. It is hot. It is dirty. Where do thousands of people get food and relieve themselves? Whose carrying the diapers? This whole thing stinks as much as that mob does about now.

26Limabeans

“Where do thousands of people get food and relieve themselves?”

Rice paddies?

26Limabeans

I’m just happy I live on the border.
The Canadian border. And it’s Winter.

SFC D

I’m on the other border. The weather is very nice. And MRS D wants a new AR after watching the news on this “caravan”.

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Hell’s yeah!

ChipNASA

Just FYI for Donald J Trump (I’m certain he’s already been briefed on these.)

The 8 most painful non-lethal weapons

26Limabeans

Too expensive. A Farmall 300 with a sickle bar mower would make them turn around and stump away.

timactual

Such waste. How about recycling?

2/17 Air Cav

I want that rubber ball grenade for Christmas.

Ex-PH2

I want that laser rifle! And I want a handheld version, too. And the plasma shield thingy – one of those, too. That would certainly keep the coyotes at bay when I’m on the trails.

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Fuck dat. A 12ga hull loaded with rocksalt is the ultimate and most basic non lethal.

2/17 Air Cav

The Left is very generous with others’ money. Here’s my idea. Emissaries from the Hollywooders, Soros, Gates, and others, can visit the group in Mexico, get their names and addresses in their home countries, and support them for life. Free health care, free housing, free this, and free that. Yeah, instead of spending billions trying to turn our representative democracy and constitutional gov’t upside down, they can exercise their kindness directly.

rgr769

Won’t happen. Progs only believe in charity for po’ folks with other people’s money.

Say it isn’t so:

“Democrats Illegal Immigration Tune Has Changed Over Years Despite Incoming Caravan”

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/democrats-illegal-immigration-tune-has-changed-over-years-despite-incoming-caravan

A Proud Infidel®™️

Let’s see, the Illegal Aliens already here send loads of cash back to their home countries, so thus I think that the shithole Central American Nations actually support this thinking of all the money that will be sent from The Golden Mountain of Handouts that the D-rats want to create.

UpNorth

Easy way to stop the invasions. Levy an 85% fee on every remittance these invaders want to send home, the money divided between Social Security and ICE.

Just An Old Dog

This entire fucking thing is much ado about nothing.
The Border Patrol catches upwards of 3000 people a day.
The ” Caravan” is still 1,000 miles away from the border.
Truth is a lot of these people will be beaten and robbed as soon as the cameras are turned away.

rgr769

Border patrol may catch 3000 a day, but over 2000 of them are released into the interior of our nation with an order to appear in court. Of course, 90 percent never show up. Mexicans are the only ones promptly deported.

Mason

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2018/10/24/u-n-puts-boots-on-the-ground-in-mexico-to-help-migrants-lone-children/

The UN is going to help them. As they travel through areas of Mexico known for rape, murder, and robbery, the UN will safeguard them by making sure they get through to the US safely and their “rights” to file for amnesty aren’t infringed.

Apparently the Mexicans that live in the area are to be left to their own devices, the UN only cares about people transiting the area.
