Top Five maybe?
Congrats VOV! I just love the picture as well!
First!
Dang, first loser. Congrats VOV
Actually, as i recall the rules being laid out, you being the first one to announce “first” would be the official first… had VOV posted that, instead of what he did, he would then have been the official first… smarter and more official folks than I can confirm or deny this…
second
3rd
Firsk1!!!
Fourth!
Not quite fast enough. Fifth.
Nice pic, Jonn!
‘Lived Life Well’
— sigh —
Many here would disagree with that sentiment.
Disagree with it, and laughing at the irony as well.
There appears to be a carving at the top of the headstone of some sort of bird diving towards the ground.
How apropos.
Hmmm, chicken coming home to roost, perhaps?
Heh heh heh!
I see what you did there.
Well played!
Really shouldn’t hit someone who is down, but excuse me i need to take a quick piss on this grave..
Lived life? Well…..
Heh. Like the contrast between “What a mind!” and “What, a mind?”
At least he died doing what he loved; arguing.
Yeh I wondered about that ‘lived life well” too, but then what is the family to put on there….First Class Ass Hole? More appropriate I know, but not for a family’s sentiments lol
Here are a few suggestions:
He Never Met A Man That He Didn’t Sue
The Only Thing To Hold Him Down Was Gravity
He’ll Get You The Decomposition You Deserve
‘Lived Life Well’
Rocking the lie even in death
We need a photo of the back side. It has a sign reading “Veteran’s Must Wash Hands After Pissing On Grave”.
Damn! 9 years younger than me, and looked 20 years older. What a shitstain.
I blame it on Jonn.
I was watching this thread like a hawk.
And, somewhere on post, a floor remained unbuffed… GET TO WORK, YEF!
And just why weren’t you at your duty station instead of dicking around on a Smartphone waiting for the WOT?
That’s it. I’ve had it, come with me young trooper, I’ve got a job for you. It entails the following:
8080-900-3648 Paint, Traffic Yellow, 5-Gal Pail
8020-200-4563 Brush, Paint, 4 inch wide brush, 6 inch handle
One each Extra Duty Personnel, MOS 57A – Duty Soldier
One each Battalion sized Vehicle Parking Lot (unlined at this time)
Some assembly required.
Now, get to it and the Bn SDNCO will be watching, so you’d better not paint outside the lines!!
And stay off my grass!
Oops, slight correction;
The FSC (Federal Stock Class/first four digits) of the paint should be 8010, not 8080.
Probably end up getting a boat anchor if I put that FSN through the system./smile
But look at how many sheets you could make up with an anchor for trading material.
Funny story along those lines. Our city got a purple dump truck several years back, a nice light lilac purple that I can’t believe Frieghtliner even has on the shelf. Couple years later I found out how we got there.
The shop supervisor who ordered trucks had memorized the paint code for the utility truck orange. New year, puts the truck order in with the same code as always. Except they changed paint codes that year.
Um, Yef, how can you watch something when it hasn’t been posted yet?
Stay away from the can of mimeograph fluid from now on.
Everyone knows mimeograph fluid is a gateway drug to Otto Fuel
You forgot the ink eradicator plus the typewriter cleaning fluid with the little brush attached to the cap EX.
Yep, but I never ran the mimeograph machine at NPC. That was Liz Spalding who tried to hump the leg of any good-looking guy who walked in thru the door. She was also supposed to keep the coffee mess neat and clean but it was always a mess, like my kitchen is right now.
Man, that takes me back!
When I was in the East Rockaway FD, we had a Dept newsletter that was run off on a mimeograph machine. I volunteered to type out the paper on those blank sheets where you didn’t use the ribbon. The letter keys would punch through the sheet where the ink would seep through. Then along came copiers and Fax. Fax dates back to the early 1900’S and people used to get their newspapers from the fax receiver in their homes. I had a Mil. surplus fax receiver that used an 18 inch roll of paper and carbon paper. Unit was hooked up to my Drake R7 shortwave receiver and I used to get ocean weather surface temperatures and other NWS material they put out.Got rid of the machine years ago and now use my Winradio hooked up to my PC. Also use the Drake with the Universal M-8000 decoder and a Hitachi moniter. Was going to buy a printer but no room in my room and my Sister would kill me because my room is also the enclosed porch (Florida room)
Couldn’t be my fault – I was napping.
All right Yef, NOW GET BACK on Police Call!
Yef is the reason weekend liberties get canceled, isn’t he?
Yep, he’s “That Guy!”
Yef is the reason weekend safety briefs aren’t brief. He’s that guy.
I’m sure others in his unit automatically think “OH SHIT, Yef again” as soon as they hear the words “Safety Briefing”.
Not even close to first … sigh.
First!
VOV did not write First.
OAE CPO USN Ret conceded.
Yef wrote Firsk1!
I am the First one to write First!
Well, Claw…am I First according to WOT Rules?
😉
hehehehe I am lucky to ever get top 50…
That would make me second as I was the second “First” accordining to your math
And I am neither first nor last and don’t care.
Heresy!
Bring out thw pitchforks!
Hey Yef – dandelions, PT Field and DON’T EAT THE DAISIES!
Don’t ask me to make a call on who got First.
That’s up to 2/17 Air Cav or Daisy Cutter.
I’m just a Recorder, not a Ruler./smile
Claw: You know the rule as well as anyone. To the first commenter that declares First/1st in a WOT goes his name in the Book of Firsts. So, grab that quill pen of yours, open up the venerable leather bound and gold-leaf volume and enter the name…OAE CPO USN Ret.
They say that every time a Rock Musician dies, Keith Richards experiences that!
And the only way he’s going to die is by cutting off his head. So that tracks.
OAE CPO USN Ret conceded on being First!
You stated OAE CPO USN Ret name is in the Book of Firsts.
That said:
HRC conceded to DJT…
Lee conceded to Grant….
Which means the South REALLY won the Civil War…and HRC DID win the Presidency…(think about it)
GOTCHA!!!!!!!
Sincerely.
AnotherPat
6 Jul 18 Winner of WOT First!
😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Youse all are killing me. A duly-earned WOT First cannot be transferred or conceded. It can be rescinded only upon clear and convincing evidence of fraud. In the event this ever occurs (to date, it has not) no one may be elevated to occupy the place of the culprit. Instead, by rule, the name is struck from the Book of Firsts with a red line-through and the culprit ineligible for life to earn a WOT first entry. So it is written. So it shall be done.
“A duly-earned WOT First cannot be transferred or conceded.”
When did that rule start?
If that is the case, then Japan and Germany won WWII…and Thomas Dewey DID beat Harry Truman…🤗
Dewey and Truman never posted a comment at TAH, at least not under their real names.
With apologies to the late DeForest Kelley: “They’re dead, Cav.”
(smile)
AnotherPat, Firsk means first in a foreign language. Does it count?
Yef, what foreign language is that? Plus, you added on a 1 after Firsk (Firsk1).
Don’t think it counts.
Me still thinks me if Firsts! for WOT. Gave my thoughts to Judge 2/17 Air Cav since I respectfully disagreed with his ruling.
Hang in there, Yef…you will make First! in due time. Remember, you’re Army Strong. Plus, aren’t you one of Iron Mike’s boys? Hooo-‘Aaaah!!!
But who’s on second.
What language is that, Floorwaxhuffingese?
Oh, dear Lord…I can’t stop laughing, API..🤣 Poor Yef…
We beat on Yef because he’s ours. May the good lord show mercy and kindness to anyone outside of TAH who abuses Yef, we will not.
…and THAT is why I read TAH – to laugh myself silly at awesome comments!
You could try petitioning the arbiter of such things that if/when foreign language utterances are recognized then yours can be counted as the first to be counted in that category. Without a favorable ruling, you are probably up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
Okay, my friends … here we go with this week’s trivia/humor column. This week, I highlighted some Independence Day trivia, along with obscure stuff about the Declaration of Independence. I hope you enjoy it. DID YOU KNOW…? How many people signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776? By Commissioner Wretched Happy Birthday to you, United States! Yes, Wednesday of this week marks the 242nd anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which touched off (one way or another) the American Revolution and gave birth to our great nation. And we’ve been growing ever since. In honor of the holiday (which, by falling smack dab in the middle of the week, gives us a pretty long holiday weekend no matter how you slice it), I thought I’d make the column this week all about the trivial portions of our independence from Great Britain. I’m told that the Revolution isn’t exactly well thought of “across the pond,” as they say, and that it’s little more than a footnote in British history books. This may indeed be true, but you also have to consider the fact that British history is about five or six times as long as American history, so something like the Revolution wouldn’t be much more than a footnote anyway. As always, your comments and thoughts on this little exercise of mine are welcomed. E-mail me at didyouknowcolumn@gmail.com and I will send you a rapid reply. So, before you head for the beach and the fireworks, take a moment and savor the good stuff … trivia! Did you know … … our National Anthem is set to the music of an English drinking song? We all know Francis Scott Key (1779-1843) wrote “The Star Spangled Banner” while watching the British bombardment of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812, but not many of us are aware that the poem was set to the stirring music of “To Anacreon In Heaven,” an irreverent drinking song from the 18th Century. The words fit the melody because Key had the tune in his mind when he wrote the poem. (Somehow,… Read more »
I think..ALL of them signed it LOL
Well, yes, all but one of them … but the question asked how many signed it on July 4, 1776.
It reminds me of the old test-question gag: “Where was the Declaration of Independence signed?” “At the bottom.”
First!
6teeenth!
Could they add “As a Tourist” after the Vietnam?
(Yea, I know. He was on a big grey boat near there so it counts.)
They spelled Hell wrong on the stone
They sure as hell didn’t put “Honorary CPO” on that headstone!
It needs “Official TAH bladder relief area” engraved on it. We’ll supply the piss tube. Yef can install it (with proper supervision ).
He can even paint rocks and fill sandbags for area beautification!
As of July 6, 2018, Dennis Howard Chevalier, a.k.a. Denny H Chevalier, phony Gulf War veteran, phony veteran, phony C-130 compass call pilot, phony SWAT veteran, phony retired USAF Lieutenant Colonel… That Dennis Howard Chevalier… Still was arrested on February 27, 2018, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
He pointed a gun at his ex-wife and son, waved a loaded weapon around and pretended to shoot things, threatened an ex-fiancé with putting a round into her head, and then his arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
One of these days, he’s going to point his gun at someone, like he has done before… And BHANG! They need to take this guy’s weapons away before he shoots someone.
Here is one link to one the details:

Top twenty and Honorary First once again.
What a lovely sight! Bernath certainly worked hard for it…
Brown Neck Gaitor
Please enclose a map with your next posting so MANY OF US CAN SHOW UP WITH PROPER SPIRITS TO TOAST TO GOOD OLD DANNY BOY BIRDBATH.*

Next time you’re slumming around Sarasota Florida why don’t you swing by the Sarasota National Cemetery and
drop your pantsgive a tip o’ the hat to old Lawn Dart Danny and maybe leave a little remembrance, huh? Thanks for the info Chip, I don’t live too far from there, so I may just have to stop by and pay my respects??
1st Section. Must have known somebody. Cool.
Here you go, ChipNASA:

Sounds like my kind of place.
Probably be able to pick up a couple of Fuck-You Lizards at that bar to hand carry to the gravesite and provide a rousing rendition as bladders are being voided.
Nicely done, ChipNASA- hope they take reservations.
I’d just eat a bunch of Taco Bell and leave my tribute the following day.
Happy 4th to all my friends at TAH! This is still the greatest country in the world! We should also remember all of those that have given their lives for this great country as well as all of those wounded in service to this great nation!
Happy Birthday to all of You!!!

Well, at least no one stooped down to DAB’s level and Photoshopped an Airplane over the Eagle on his headstone…😉
I’m bad, and I should feel bad.

KA-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
I’ll be happy to post that up in all its glory, CN. Say the word.
Ahem (NSFW!)
(Rare form today, rare form.)
Aye Aye!
A model of a Cessna 206. Birdbath wasn’t licensed to fly a full size one of those. Way beyond his Light Sport aircraft skilz. But apparently so was what put him in the dirt. Still a fitting testament.
Ermahgerd 🙂
That’s fookin’ beautiful, bravo!
BHWHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Yes sir Chip…you ARE on a roll! Awesome.
😂🤣😅😆😈👿!!!!
DAB spelled backwards is BAD…😎
You win.
That’s not an Eagle. It’s a Turkey vulture looking for carion amongst the wreckage.
That thought makes me wonder if his remains didn’t get munched on by either Turkey Vultures or wild hogs in the time between when he crashed and they found what was left of him.
Speaking of cold stuff and preserving things, I have a question pertaining to refrigerators, which is apropos because The Dead are frequently found in refrigerators until they are interred.
And my question is this:
My fridge is having an issue keeping things cold. The pump motor works fine, but the “chill” in the fridge section is not nearly as cold as it should be, and while the freezer compartment does keep some things frozen, I will have to move most of that into the freezer chest in another room.
It lost its chill on Wednesday, 7/4. I think some firecrackers and illegal cherry bombs may have scared it. But it has to last for another year or two, until I can get a new one and a new stove.
So is this problem a just loss of Freon? Or is there something else at work here, like a mouse hiding underneath?
Thanks for your help.
It is really clean underneath? If all the cooling fins and tubes are clogged up with gunk, that will cause a look-a-like symptom of Freon loss.
I do not know, because it sits so low on the floor and I can’t get anything to go underneath it.
It’s been sitting there since the tiles were laid down in 2005.
13 years? Yeah, it’s way past time for a cleaning. Restricted air flow will get you every time.
You may also want to check the fan in the freezer section to make sure it is running and blowing the cold air into the other side? You should be able to hear it running and feel the air blowing thru it? Call me if you need any help??
I can hear the fan running and blowing air, so there’s something else going on.
Thanks, Willy!
WW, Ex-PH2: if it’s a “frost-free” design, another possibility is something SNAFU in the defrost control circuit. Had an issue recently where a fridge would cool, then warm up. Seems ice was building up around the coils and blocking much of the airflow. After it was defrosted manually, it would work again for a while – then the problem repeated.
Wasn’t a real cheap fix, but much cheaper than a new fridge. Unfortunately, it wasn’t something I could fix myself (defrost control unit or sensor, as I recall).
Might be worth trying a manual defrost and seeing if the problem goes away temporarily.
Thank you, Hondo. The fridge compartment temp is now down to 59F, enough to keep stuff chilled but not keep it from going stale. The freezer is now freezing again. I did clean underneath, but it’s got a sealed bottom, so it was just for the sake of doing it. And since I’m going to call the guy to come on Wednesady, I will also ask him about coming in September to replace the oven igniter in the stove. No end to it, like I said.
Ex, with your cats and all, I’d bet that the cooling fins and such are clogged with fur / dust.. try pulling it away from the wall, and getting behind / under it as best you can with a vacuum. If that doesn’t work, some repair places will do so with a specialized vacuum that might reach spots you’d miss
Yeah, I’m unable to move it myself, so calling a repairman next week will have to do instead of me.
I have put a long bristle brush under the bottom regularly when my longhaired cats were still around, but now I have only one shorthair, so I think it’s something else.
Thank you!
Of course! Best of luck!
Fridge Is Warm Freezer Is Cold – How To Fix
Self Help Link
Hope this helps, good luck!
Low freon may be indicated by line freezing off the compressor – check it and see if a line is covered with ice. Make sure all the grids/coils are not covered with heavy dust/hair etc. Could be a relatively inexpensive relay, too. Remember, once repaired, could literally take 8 hours to recool, don’t be impatient.
Thanks for the help. I can’t move that lumbering box myself.
I’m guessing something is interfering that I can’t get at.
I will call the repairman next week, after I clean it out, move frozen stuff, and toss anything that can spoil.
Also, I have to get the stove oven repaired, too, in the fall, after summer heat is gone. New igniter and probably a new glowbar. No end to it, is there?
Just keep them going for another couple of years, then replace them.
Don’t forget, You Tube is your friend. I have managed to fix many things I didn’t know how to fix until I watched a few You Tube videos on the subject!! I wish you luck and feel free to call me if I can help with anything??
Take care,
Willy
I found a local repairman, an ex-Puddle Pounder, who has fine reviews for prompt service calls and lives not too far away.
YEF! Get the duty vehicle and get your ass to the chow hall. Draw the biggest ice chest that will fit in the truck, load it with ice, and haul ass for EX’s kitchen. You will unload said chest and ice, mop up any spills, and if I hear 1 unhappy feline squeak, she’ll have your ass! Execute!
If Yef just takes out the trash from the reefer, that will be fine with me.
Wish I could help you Ex. but the last time I worked in the AC/Reefer repair was back in 1967 when I was with Mapo in Long Island City Queens NY and Turbo out in Hicksville LI, NY. Mapo was commercial A/C/reefer and Turbo was Industrial A/C dealing with York turbo masters/turbopaks and YAC’S (York Alice Charlmers) utilizing freon 12,22 and 33 for the YAC’S. Could be the thermostat, low freon, dirty coils. If you can touch the copper line coming from the condenser to the TXV (thermal expansion valve) and it is a little hot, and the line coming out of the evaporator coils cold, then it should be working normaly. Thermostat could be on the fritz also. Work lasted until 1970 and then went to Brink’s for 37 years. Good luck.
For the soccer fans here on Team TAH, the World Cup Quarterfinals are being played today and tomorrow. Games are being broadcast on FOX and FS1 networks.
France vs Uruguay was this morning, and Belgium vs Brazil starts in about 20 minutes.
England vs Sweden tomorrow morning, followed by Russia vs Croatia in the afternoon.
Enjoy, and have a great weekend!
Sergeant I am late to formation because…well, I, you see it happened like this…
Sergeant: “Shut the fuck up Sparks! You got CQ duty all weekend. Now get your ass in gear and get in formation! And I want to see you in my office Monday morning.”
Sergeant: Sparks, why the hell were you not in formation this morning?
Sparks: I was in formation, Sergeant.
Sergeant: Then why didn’t I see you?
Sparks: Because I was wearing my camouflage uniform.
When is the PVC pipe urinal going to be installed at the base of that headstone in the picture?
I was bad in the post above, but this is really, *really* bad. I’m on my game today.
Know what that really is, Chip?
Poe’s “The Premature Burial” was a real worry back then; there were all sorts of patents/designs to allow a “prematured buried” person to signal he was buried alive.
https://www.pinterest.com/pgeekie/premature-burial/?lp=true
Yep, Victorian burial alarm. Also described in “The Great Train Robbery” by Michael Crichton. Good book, the movie not so much.

sj: what happened to faith, i mean cindy, i mean terrance?
still haven’t seen terry’s obit yet…🤔
It’s classified. Can’t be published.
She’s with her lawer talking about how TAH gets shut down Monday. They’re talking because she can’t write a word without misspelling it.
Terrance went Chelsea Manning/Catlyn Jenner?
😉
The writing comes from someone who does not know how to use a computer/keyboard as well as lack of English grammer and spelling. In other words, Terrance. Or Terrance dictating to a youngun to type his mish mash.
Pretty pitiful what he did on that person’s obit, imposing his picture. Guess he thinks we all are a bunch of imbeciles (he’s projecting himself on us).
Have this feeling he is reading this right now…but he won’t be back for fear of more info found on him.
Yeah, “faith” DID throw the lawer card down, I wonder if she’ll go Full Bernath?
Still haven’t seen an obituary on Terrence O’Neil the bogus SEAL!
I still wonder who President Trump will pick for the Supreme Court and see that Ruth Bader Ginsburg is still there. Has she been freeze dried, or is she getting blood transfusions from Keith Richards?
Beef Jerky
She smells funny. Stay back.
She is the dehydrated beef patty from the gen-1 MRE’s. Anybody remember that tasty treat?
And here you go. MRE Menus from 1981 to 2016
https://www.mreinfo.com/mres/mre-menus/
I liked the Corned Beef Hash during my AD Days in the early 90s,the biggest loser was the Omelet with Ham, fights would sometimes break out over that one with the loser having to eat it!
A buddy of mine convinced a 1Lt that the measure of a man was to eat a omelet with ham MRE without taking a drink. The 1Lt gave up halfway through. As they say in the south, “He tried, bless his heart.”
Wouldn’t you know it, I ETS and they get rid of the beef patty. Somehow I always got stuck with that thing. The worst part was it always seemed to come with a big stick of beef jerky. Like the “cooks” didn’t think variety was appreciated.
Looks like my personal favorite spaghetti with meat is still kicking. Couple shakes of Tabasco and that’s GTG. Yum, yum.
They get rid of that loaf of dry, pasty “bread” yet? So unappetizing. Now give me the crackers with nacho cheese, that’s not bad.
And through all the years, Menu (whatever) for Beef Stew has hung in there.
But nothing, and I mean nothing, will ever beat LRRP Ration Chili Con Carne.
Not even Ham Slices.
I remembered that tasty treat, Sapper3307.😝
Speaking of MREs: Our Commissary carries them. Everytime we shop there, we buy a couple of them for emergencies, i.e. hurricanes, tornadoes, snowstorms, power outages, etc. Brings back childhood memories of being an Army brat, where we had to have a case of C-Rats in our home as well as practicing going to Quaset huts in case we were to be attacked by Castro or the USSR during the Cold War.
Never dealt with MRE’s just C-rats.
Always wondered why they included one lousy sheet of toilet paper but came with a handy tool for cleaning fingernails afterwards. Odd.
I liked C-rats. For that matter, I liked Navy & Marine Corps chow during my 23 years. Yes, even SOS. Always got seconds.
The dehydrated beef and the dehydrated pork patty are hard to forget. I used to just crunch ’em dry and swig ’em down with canteen in hand. It was just a calorie brick to me.
Back in the 80s when I went out into the field a lot, the only hot liquid available to rehydrate the MRE pork and beef patties were the coffee at the bde TOC. I always remembered them as coffee meat patties, same thing with the freeze-dried hash brown patties…
…but we did have the fun of trying to pry apart the gorilla cookies. Use of a knife was cheating.
Yep, I remember beef and pork patties.. chicken ala king was my favorite.. back before they came with Tabasco.. I was the guy nominated by my squad to grab a bottle from the chow hall, and have it avail at all times (probably because I used more than anyone else)
As for Ginsburg, I still say the dims are playing a version of “weekend and Bernies”…
Finished AT last week. One of the highlights was eating the fabled pizza MRE. Not bad. As the guy with the the earliest Pay Entry Base Date (May 87), I was the only one to remember beef and pork patties.
Well, I believe someone asked Judge Judy if she’d like the job and her response was pithy, to say the least.
I just returned from overseas vacation, but am still on the road continuing my vacation back in the good ‘ole southeastern CONUS. As it developed, we drove right through Sarasota FL on highway 41 less than 24 hours ago. If I had known dirt dart danny was buried at the Sarasota national cemetery then, I would have swung by his grave marker and paid him my “personal compliments”…
Hanoi Jane has got to be getting close to her dirt nap.
First troop on site needs to post GPS coords.
Gee PEE Esss…..
Got to admit Bernath was a down-to-earth kind of guy. How long before his stone is vandalized. Hope not.
Now, for Hanoi Jane, all bets are off.
‘Lived Life Well’.
I thought Veteran’s Headstones were to not contain humorous remarks… 😉
It should read ‘Gravity’s Bitch’ somewhere if we’re ignoring customs and norms, in my opinion. 😉
Well, at least, he can rest in pieces now.

Well, I had been to the cardiologist and deserved a special treat. In the doc’s defense, he had an emergency earlier in the day. It usually doesn’t take 3 hours to get in and out of his office. This time he only wants one additional test and I don’t have to go back for a year.

She doesn’t know us very well.
The Left hasn’t had too much to be happy about for a while now. That’s okay. Many of us were miserable for eight consecutive years. Anyway, as can happen only in America, Bernie the Bum is a millionaire now. That’s nice. And there’s that chick who won the primary in NY (Queens/Bronx) as another avowed socialist. She supports BLM, believes in global warming, the Palestinian cause, would like to see Trump impeached, and wants ICE eliminated, among other things. She’s a “Bronx girl”—except she’s not. When her family moved to Yorktown in Westchester, she was five. Daddy was an architect and the Latina from the Bronx grew up where the median family income has always been lofty (several years ago, it was $160,000) and attended good schools. Now, she’s the darling of the Left, and her victory is said by some pundits to herald the resurgence of the socialist agenda. (Remember “We Are All Socialists Now.” It’s right up there with “Madam President” and “Dewey Defeats Truman.”) They just don’t get it. BTW, her primary victory isn’t representative of much of anything. Even in victory, she pulled around 16,000 votes and won by only a quarter of that. Promising free cheese and other shit will always get some votes.
Yes we were miserable for the eight years previous to President Trump being elected, during that period how often did we see Conservatives rioting, looting and committing acts of violence to those we disagreed with? Liberalism is truly a mental disorder!
With all the floor buffing going on here I just had to search “military grade floor buffer”
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/demilitarized-buffer/
Should you want one for your very own:
7910-680-8297 Polisher, Floor, Electric, 17.5 inch Brush, 50 foot Cord.
Does it have that patina of dried floor wax, soap, and soul-sucking boredom?
How many HP and what gauge cord?
I want to see those tiles smoke.
120 AC, 1.5 HP Motor, gauge of 3-Wire cord is not defined.
A Military Grade Assault Buffer?
I actually own a buffer (17 inch pad, not military 21 inch). I bought it used as well as a 21″ burnisher from a local restaurant that was going out of business. Paid $375 cash for them both in total.
I have over 3000 sq ft of real wood floor and the hardware store has lots of cans of johnson wax. The floors didn’t shine like they could have when I bought the house so a buffer came to mind. Getting a dog and cat only cemented the idea and also made me realize that having a burnisher to strip the floor would be easy than using a buffer.

I wonder what’s happening with the investigation into the death of Green Beret Melgar. He was killed more than a year ago in Mali and an investigation was begun into the role played by two SEALs. According to reports published last February, witness interviews were concluded. Something is afoot.
Joe Cryer, the phony SEAL and newest member of the Dutch Rudder Club, makes an appearance on the Bernath headstone photo.
In case anyone is having a “WTF moment” finding what Jonn’s talking about above, check the comments here:

Guess I will be camping out in a lawn chair next to his marker with my Webley just incase Zombie Bernath rises. Camp out anyone? Ill bring the hot dogs.
Here’s a thought, mention something from the past that is unheard of these days, like taking glass bottles back to the store for deposit, rotary dial phones,…
Okay, how about:
Saturday night baths in a #3 Wash Tub in the middle of the kitchen floor with water drawn from the inside pitcher pump that had been heated on a cast iron cook stove.
BTDT
Party line telephone service, so you could listen to the farm wives gossip about who might get the County Fair Queen title that year
4-H clubs for kids that embraced real cooking, ag stuff like raising spotted Hampshire hogs, making clothes, and canning food
Ice boxes (not refrigerators) that the man from the Polar Ice Company would fill with big block of ice to cool the perishable food
Pumping drinking water from the well by hand
Feeding the chickens and collecting eggs (by hand) – okay some people do that now, but the chickens don’t go into the pot later on
Watching June bugs bang into the screen on the back porch
Ex, if you want to check out the 4-H results from this year’s county fair in the county in Indiana that Twist and I are from, go to PulaskiPost.com and look. There’s a lot of kids that will be getting their 10 year 4-H pin this year, as 4-H is very much alive and well there.
They haven’t posted up the auction results yet as I’m still waiting on pins and needles to see how much this year’s Grand Champion Duck sold for, but everything else is there, all the animals and the projects that got Blue Ribbons.
Enjoy!!
Thank you, Claw. I used to go to the county fair when I was in high school. They still have all of that if you get away from the bigger cities.
And up in Wisconsin, they have draft horse pulls! Good times!
“draft horse pulls”
Hah, you haven’t lived until you get to see the RC engine pulls at the county fair grounds.
Google it up, they are on YouTube and really fun to watch./smile
Milk delivered to one’s doorstep.
That still happens. Check out the website for Reed’s Dairy here in Idaho Falls.
They used to use horses to pull the dairy wagons in my home town, back in the 1950s.
Kids spending hour after hour riding bicycles. The rich kid had ribbons dangling from the handle bar grips, but got rid of them pretty quickly when he discovered it was far from cool.
Sometimes we would discover a glass bottle and return it for the deposit. If we found several, we would share a candy bar, or a Coke. What a treat. (It was the only time most of us got a soft drink or a candy bar.)
Once each summer we went to the A & W and got a real root beer, delivered to the car. For some reason, Mom stopped at the Dairy Queen fairly often. Every couple of years she splurged for the chocolate dip coating. OK, OK, they still have those things, but the long forgotten part of it is that such things were special treats not common fare for many of us.
Ice cream or a frozen treat at the Tastee-Freez!
I was the remote for the TV once we finally got one…B&W of course. Ed Sullivan show was a weekly ritual.
Everything on Christmas Story. I relate to everything on it.
Not only full service gas stations, but when they gave free glassware away as well!
Green stamps.
Glass, plant or dishcloth in boxes of laundry detergent.
We drove around picking up bottles. Some days we would get a hundred or more. Wash them and take them to the store.
23 cent gasoline, pumped by someone who also checked oil, water and tire pressure. Listening to the Top 40 every Saturday morning on WTOB. Going to record stores. Using arm to signal turns and stopping while driving. Using paper bag as cover for school books. PTA meetings w/o a political agenda.
Make that PLATE, not PLANT. WTF? A plant in a box of laundry detergent?
Meh, I’ve done worse than that!
Finally finding your skate key!
Riding while standing up in the back seat (Dad’s ’55 Bel Air didn’t even HAVE seat belts!)
Drinking from the hose.
Riding bikes all day sans a helmet.
Riding in the back of a pickup with “Sit down and HOLD the hell on!” being the final instructions.
That headstone is like one of those games on kid’s menus. The things that I could find that are wrong are the statements “lived life well” and “loving dad” along with the adornment of something that could fly without killing itself.
I heard that his Daughter pretty much disowned him.
Here’s another (Stolen from Farcebook) , name a movie but change one word of it to “Asshole”, I’ll start with “Blazing Asshole”.
“The Sound of Asshole”
“Asshole in Seattle”
“An Asshole Too Far”
The movie A Bridge Too Far recounts Operation Market Garden. One successful element of that combined British and American effort was the initial taking of the Nijmegen bridge over the Waal river by the 82nd. Otherwise, the operation was a failure and has been much discussed and written about over the decades. Here, for Sapper3307, is Hollywood’s depiction of the crossing of the Waal in that movie.
I just watched it. I wish I hadn’t. Why didn’t the 82nd just drop Redford onto the bridge? I hate Hollywood.
I would be remiss in my duties if I didn’t take this opportunity to send out “Happy Birthday!!” greetings to my West Coast buddy Steve. It seems that this year is a pretty significant life milestone for you and am glad you’re still with us.
That being said – MULE Update?
And as we await tonight’s announcement from President Trump regarding his Supreme Court nominee, enjoy this:
