Strange Days….
I came across this gem on Claymore’s DUers column last week. I try to stick to reading the text, not the comments, because the comments seem to be written by Silurians who lost the fight against Dr. Who. It’s very strange to find something at DU that has the blinking eye effect. You see something with one eye, then something like it – but completely different – with the other eye. And then I realized that this is the work of a split personality.
This is how it works: read this once, then reread it and everywhere you see Democrat or liberal or whatever refers to that side of the coin, replace it with Republican, conservative or whatever is on the other side of the coin. If you see GOP or Trump replace with Dem or Hillary. You get the idea. Then read it again.

We need to shame those who vote for Republicans. They need to be made aware of the damage they are causing with their “party loyalty.” And they need to be exposed as aiding and abetting a political party that is doing its best to turn our country into an authoritarian nightmare.
It’s up to us to stop it. No one else can. Each and every one of us know people who vote for, and thus enable Republicans. And we must speak up now while we’re still “allowed” to speak up.
Sorry to be asking so much. It can cause hurt feelings, and in some cases irreparable damage. But, yes. I’m asking a lot of everyone. After all, there’s nothing at stake except our way of life, and all of our freedoms.
Okay, now that you’ve done that at least once, did you see what I saw? Or am I wandering alone in the Universe?

Yup. My history teacher used to say that the political spectrum is more like a circle than a 2D-axis. If you go too far to the left or right, eventually you’ll meet up with the other side, which explains why fascist and communist states are essentially identical dictatorships.

I think, and I may be wrong here, that the far left actually has better control than the right. The far left has effectively taken over the Democratic Party. If you think the Republican party is as controlled by the right wing within the Republican party as the Democrat party is controlled by the Left wing within that party, then you have been living in some alternate reality.

The reality is that neither party can win an election in the current 2-party political climate without pandering to the 5% of their constituency that makes the most noise.

Disgusting, but not surprising. The closest I ever came to the kind of self-righteous ideological vitriol expressed there was when I got a proudly-self-proclaimed Obama voter to admit that she didn’t actually have any good reason to vote for him, and had in fact just been dazzled by bullshit. And even in that case, it was only in response to having been stuck listening to her go on and on and on ad nauseam about how great the “first black president” (you would think that title would have been reserved for an *actual* black dude, not some half-white rich kid) for several days prior, so it wasn’t exactly unprovoked.
I will tell people why I disagree with them, but they can vote however they want. Yes, those bumper stickers for Comrade Bernie and Dad Hildabeast still annoy me, but it’s a free country, so what the hell. I’m happy to leave them alone as long as they reciprocate the courtesy.
But modern leftists seek to shame, belittle, demean, and silence anyone who deviates from their party line. Their fanaticism, their dogmatism, and their tactics would not be out of place in the Reich Main Security Office, Staatssicherheitsdienst Administration-12, or Lubyanka.
And they call us “intolerant.”

More like the writer of that piece is describing JUST what his/her/its side of the spectrum is actively doing, I see it as “Projection” which Sigmund Freud described as when one is so intimidated by or afraid of their thoughts and actions that they “project” them onto others, much like a convicted rapist accusing his Psychologist of wanting to do the same and this time it’s some babbling snowflake projecting.
I have never had my own vehicle vandalized until the 2008 election when I put a “McCain/Palin” sticker on my pickup. Once I did that it was keyed at least twice by “People of Tolerance”.
Before I retired, since the election in ’16, it was startlingly common how many road rage calls came in over bumper sticker arguments. All of them I can recall were people upset about someone’s Trump sticker.
More “People of Tolerance” proving that liberalism is a mental disorder, no doubt. Any time I see a car go by with a Hitlery or Bernista sticker I just chuckle and think “Yeah, another deluded TARDO.”, ditto with the “Coexist” sticker.
I have a “coexist” bumper sticker on my truck. It appeared to literally blow the mind of a liberal priest. He simply stood there looking at it, unable to wrap his mind around what he was seeing. He walked away without comment but with a seriously perplexed look on his face.

Had a friend who sold “Don’t Blame Me, I voted for Clinton” stickers at gun shows. Sure way for someone to key or vandalize the car… he snuck one ontot the sheriff’s car in his town in Colorado and said the car was vandalized several times before the sherrif found it and removed it.

Yep, projection is exactly the word you are looking for, PH. They do it in an effort to normalize (in their own minds) their behavior. If “everybody is doing it,” then it’s normal for me to do it, too. Doing a bit of projection isn’t all that uncommon or even unhealthy, but justifying everything you do, say, and think by projecting it on others is not healthy at all, and is certainly intellectually dishonest sometimes to the point of being dangerous.
Among other things, successful projection requires an assessment of one’s own behavior even when it is not done consciously. It’s called being delusional when you project upon others that which you are doing yourself while denying your own behavior. That’s when it can become extremely unhealthy.

There is a endancy for the Dems to say all the racists went Republican in 64, because LBJ and the Civil Rights Act.
1) LBJ was a dem. He also said that the (blacks) would vote Dem for 200 years after the Dems passed welfare. He did not use the world “blacks”.
2) The Dems, bless their hearts, voted majority ad solidly against the 64 act, as they had all previous ones. it was the Republicans, at 79%, who gave the Civil Rights Act enough votes to pass it for LBJ to sign.

The other part of their dirty little secret is that as they called any of us who challenged “welfare” racists it has historically been white people who got most of those welfare “benefits.” Yeah, assuming things and actually being racists is what they have always done. I don’t know any rational thinking person that would do that over how they vote. Unfortunately, it seems that the radical left has completely taken over the democratic party. I mean, two years ago they came inches away from nominating an openly unapologetic socialist for president!

That was my take as well. My take on opposing views is that they are welcome to them so long as they don’t attempt to shove them down my throat. Once they do, we have a problem. The left today does nothing but throat-shoving.

My own view is that the DU’s revolutionary rhetoric amounts to little more than posturing and preening. If push came to shove, it’s doubtful if most of them have the physical courage to back up all the hyperbole. They’d rather talk us all to death.
There also seems to be more than a small measure of whistling past the graveyard. The Democrats were blind-sided by the last election, and still haven’t figured out the actual cause. A lot of them also apparently think no change in their own approach to government will lead to a different result next time.
Another thing that’s apparent is that for the eight years prior to the last election, the news media found itself caught in a dilemma. For the most part, any criticism of the Obama administration, even that which was strictly policy based, was somehow seen as racist. What this also led to, at least it seems to me, was a purge in the news media such that middle and conservative voices were largely reduced in the interest of the SJW agenda.
Too, it’s apparent that things are starting to get to the point now where the political bickering has taken on a life of its own. To some extent it’s no longer about government policy, but instead vitriol for vitriol’s sake. What’s probably a good example of this is last week’s White House Correspondents Dinner in which a strident and potty-mouthed harpy named Michelle Wolf thought it appropriate to piss on the office of the President. And by doing so, to piss on all the rest of us.
I didn’t and wouldn’t watch the WHCD, but from what I’ve read, it was a fitting demonstration of the absolute toilet the D.C. media is. They are so absurdly anti-Trump that they literally have no sense of decency, decorum, or professionalism.
The organizer even had the gall to say that this vitriol wasn’t what they were going for. Pa-leeze.
She just realized that the rest of the country wasn’t laughing along with them as expected, and backpedaled accordingly.

Shortly before the 2016 Presidential Election, Hack Stone posted on Facebook asking Hillary Clinton supporters to convince Hack to vote for Hillary. Hack was open to be persuaded, but only if it was why vote for Hillary, not to vote against Trump. Never got a response. Trump was not my first choice, but no way in Hell would I ever vote for that criminal from Arkansas.
And the TARDOs on the left continue to ensure President Trump’s re-election in 2020, I hope that they pick a dyed in the wool babbling moonbat to run against him.

1. By and large they are geriatrics. Most of the DUmmies saw their best days in the 60s. Not that their is abything wrong with that but it is what it is. I’ve seen multiple polls on DU and the average age is mid to late 60s
2. They are nearly all on the dole
3. Nearly all of them are suffering from some kind of self admitted mental illness
