Tuesday morning feel good stories

| March 6, 2018

From Clear Brook, Virginia;

On March 3, 2018 at approximately 9:49 p.m. deputies responded to the 200 block of Ruebuck Lane in Clear Brook for the report of shooting at a residence. The owner of the residence reported that one or two subjects were trying to break into his residence through his bedroom window. The suspect broke out the bedroom window and reached inside of the window.

The home owner reported that he fired one round from his 12-gauge shotgun through the window when he saw the suspect’s hands come through the window. When deputies arrived on scene they found a deceased female outside of the residence by the bedroom window. At this time the deceased female has not been positively identified.

From Laurel County, Kentucky;

Detectives and deputies arrived at the scene and learned that apparently a man had unlawfully entered a garage and was in the process of taking items when he was confronted by the property owner.

Officials say a scuffle ensued, with the suspect attempting to fight the homeowner and suffering a gunshot wound from a 9 mm pistol.

The suspect was taken to UK Hospital for treatment. He was identified as Raymond Scott House, 43, of London. He was charged with second-degree robbery.

A female suspect allegedly fled the scene before police arrive but was located later off Taylor School Road and arrested without incident.

An update from yesterday’s story from North Hollywood, California;

A parts store employee interrupted a theft of some kind behind the building and was assaulted by Serrano Rodriguez, [Detective Adolfo Godinez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Station] said.

“It started outside and wound up inside (the parts shop),” Godinez said. The employee, armed with a handgun, shot the suspect.

The employee “pretty much felt threatened and defended his life,” the detective said. Serrano Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives were reviewing surveillance video and considered it a case of self-defense, Godinez said.

From Bunker Hill, West Virginia;

Nico Eugene Mason, 25, of 202 Bluebird Drive in Stephens City, Va…was being held Monday afternoon, in lieu of $100,000 bond, at the Eastern Regional Jail in the Martinsburg area, according to the jail’s website.

The incident was reported to emergency service officials at 5:39 a.m. Sunday.

Keller said the owners of a home in the first block of Prospect Avenue were woken Sunday morning by their dog, who heard someone trying to get in the side door.

A man broke the glass in the side door and gained entry to the house, Keller said.

The male homeowner yelled at the man to lie down and fired a warning shot into the kitchen floor with his 9 mm handgun, Keller said.

The suspect was still “aggressive,” coming toward the homeowner so the homeowner shot the suspect in the leg, Keller said.

Serrano Rodriguez, DRT.
He thought he was hot stuff to the end.
Claw, what’s the Word Count on this deceased miscreant?

And the world is a more peaceful place………now.

Claw

The Kak Wheel says:

Serrano Rodriguez (DRT) 27 x 3 = 81

Claw

Oops, Mea Culpa.

That should be KAK Wheel, not Kak Wheel.

Wilted Willy

Claw, what happened to the Whiz Wheel?

Claw

Whiz Wheel and KAK Wheel are same/same.

KAK Wheel is the official noun nomenclature of the KAL-55B Tactical Authentication Device, otherwise sometimes known as a Whiz Wheel/Handy-Dandy Decoder Ring to some./smile

Deplorable B Woodman

No, no, no. NO warning shots. Aim center mass. Aim small, miss small. Instead of a leg wound, we’d be more likely reading about DRT.

Looks like Krazy Unkle Joe’s Shotgun Solution actually works! Just not the way Krazy Unkle Joe said to apply it.

OWB

Was thinking that an appropriate corollary to the Biden rule should be, “If the bad guy has already broken the window glass, don’t waste time opening the window prior to firing your shotgun out the window.”

Hondo

Good to see the original reporting in the North Hollywood case was erroneous, and that the clerk was actually acting in self-defense. Original reporting made it appear he’d simply gone after the perp and shot him to stop a theft in progress.

I’ve got no real problem with the latter, but CA legal authorities apparently frown on use of deadly force to stop a property crime absent threat to life/limb/nearby innocents.

Careers interrupted so quickly and so thoroughly… must be a new phenomenon. You’d think that word would get around, wouldn’t you?

**Update on Incident** The deceased has been identified as Shayna E. Lacy, 39, of Bunker Hill, WV.

Went far out of her way to find a hole in the ground. Wonder if there will be an uptick in these as the new show on TV glamorizes female criminals.

Sparks

They probably had to scour the lawn for her gold tooth to ID her.

Graybeard

I was also thinking that 12ga 00 buck to the cranial region from 10′ away would be a quick way to complete a criminal career – and guarantee a closed-casket service.

AW1Ed

A size 12 shottie makes a very convincing argument. If the bad guy in my house gets through six 125 gn JHPs in .357 Mag, five 12 gauge rounds of #1 Buck, and two rounds of .45 Long Colt, I’ll hand him the TV remote and get him a beer.

Wilted Willy

AW, I think you need a little more fire power if you are going to give up that easily? He would have to make it thru a 40 round clip of full metal jacket 7.62 X 39 to get my remote!
Good Hunting AW!!

AW1Ed

Too much club for indoors, WW! I want to shoot the bad guy, not knock down walls.
Too each their own. Some here perfer an Evil Black Frying Pan in the 14 inch range.

And the great ghetto in the sky brings a couple more hood rats into its realm !!!
