Thursday morning feel good stories
In Center Point, Alabama, police responded to a burglary call and found the 79-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his leg waiting for them on his porch. Inside they found a burglar whom they declared DRT (dead right there);
According to police, the homeowner had been asleep when he was awakened by a noise from his basement. Two suspects allegedly forced open a basement window and entered the house. The suspects continued upstairs and confronted the victim who was still in his bed.
One of the suspects ordered him not to move, the report said. The victim grabbed a gun he kept by his bed and began firing at the suspects. One suspect fell and the other fled. The victim chased the fleeing suspect out of the house. As the suspect ran across the yard he fired a shot that struck the victim in the leg. He then got into another vehicle that was waiting nearby and fled the scene with a third suspect.

Survival of the smartest (and best shot) – not quite Darwinian evolution, but it works.
The comments are interesting. Not one defending the intruders.
Do you think they need defending? The victim’s house had been burglarized thirteen times in recent history. He said he felt bad about killing the boy, but not shooting him. The victim was also shot during this evolution. You are welcome to defend the perps, and I will feel that you are simply a moron. Do not let that stop you though.
I think that Eden’s comment was probably in jest.
Yeah, I kind of figured that after having given it some more thought. The color of the message does not always come through in text. That is kind of why I refrain from responding immediately. I just had a knee jerk moment.
If any of you are in the area, please check on my uncle. He has been afraid to return to his home after the shooting. He needs support and I’m not sure how to give it from Cleveland Ohio. He is refusing to leave but scared.
