Jack Junior Ottenwalder arrested for stolen valor
In Lehigh Acres, Florida, a sheriff’s deputy responded to a call at Jack Junior Ottenwalders home and for some reason Jack showed the deputy, a veteran, his DD214 discharge record. According to the Press-Record, the deputy noticed something was off about the DD214;
A deputy, who has military experience, responded to Ottenwalder’s home back in January and noticed the details in the form were exaggerated.
The fake form stated Ottenwalder’s honors included: Silver Star, Purple Heart, National Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal and the Operation Enduring Freedom Medal.
Ottenwalder also claimed he left the U.S. Army at the rank of E6.
The details made the deputy question the document’s authenticity, according to an arrest report.
Further investigation showed he never received any decorations, medals, or campaign ribbons and was released from duty with “an entry level separation code.”
So Ottenwalder has been arrested for forgery and uttering a forged instrument – he’s out on $10,000 bond.

Funny thing is on January 19th he was arressted for impersonating an Officer and obstruction of justice and the charges were dropped due to a video online that showed the officer stating he was going to put that he was impersonating an Officer because he told him he wasnt a real cop. On February 24 that charge was then dropped on him and he became a susptect in a rape that occured in 2016 by someone impersonating an officer yet he recieved his security license in 2017 and never had any of the gear mentioned on the news that was then dropped then he spoke to lawyers about a unlawful arrest lawsuit amd 30 days later he is arrested for forgery and fraud. This after watchinng the video’s online seems to me like the police are trying to destroy this guy for his impending lawsuit. In the actual arrest booking report nothing is ever mentioned about a dd214 being found in his posession in the report at all. But it was mentioned in the affidavit the Fwc officer wrote when he had him arrested on the impersonating an Officer and obstruction of justice charge that was dropped. I think people need to dig deeper into this story for more truth before making am assumption.

Please reread: He “was released from duty with “an entry level separation code.”
If the service member has less than 180 days of service and is discharged, the commander can indicate that they didn’t have enough time to adequately measure this person’s conduct and performance by characterizing their service as “Entry Level.”
In short he simply was not retained for service and was released. Such a “release” is NOT an Honorable Discharge nor is it a Dishonorable or Bad Conduct Discharge. He was “Let Go”….most probably just not suitable for service.
I actually looked into this and had the opportunity to speak with him. After reading the statements from the Army he completed all thr necessary training needed to graduate basic but decided after his wife told him she was cheating and leaving him he argued with his captain of his company to be released after being released he arrived home shortly after got divorced and has been raising his daughter alone. He then attempted to re enlist in 2014 getting a support letter from a CPT. DOMONICK his Battalion chaplain statimg that it would benefit the army to have someome as dedicated as he was while being discharged he offered to do flag duty every morning and paint pt stands voluntarily this was not possible because he wasnt willing to give up custody of his daughter for a waiver to enlist. I have met the man in person and asked him about all of this. Honestly this is all sad. There is absolutely no proodlf after contacting the V.A. that he ever applied for any benefits from this at all. Also of the guy is willing and wanting to fight for the country let him send him to fight towel heads or to london lol.

Having been Army myself, I always viewed an ELS or Entry Level Separation discharge as a sign saying “UNFIT SHITBAG” 99.999% of the time. Only once did I see someone who was a good Soldier get one for medical reasons. The one I’m talking about was squared the hell away and would have been one choice Soldier but was Medically Separated when Doctors diagnosed him with a Heart Murmur in AIT which was a death sentence for anyone’s career in the early 90’s, all the other ELS’s I saw were either shitballs who couldn’t cut the mustard or just wussed out any way they could.
We was released due to becoming sole custodial parent. He also completed basic 100% and chose to be released. Its all online posted everywhere.
