Oh, by the way……

See you guys again next year.

/HatersUnite!

About a year ago my wife and I had a disagreement about our house, because everything in it is hers. I literally have no room. So, my wife, being kind and wanting me to have something of my own had this painting framed and sits above my couch in the living room.

I had the local printers blow up that image into a poster for my wall. It’s one of my favorites.

GO PATS!

Veritas Omnia Vincit

It was interesting to see the folks who admit to hating the Pats state that they still were impressed with that comeback and admitting that they felt Brady was perhaps the best person to have ever played that position…. I think you all know by now were it not for my crazy football addicted wife the NFL would never be on at my house….I don’t watch the games, except for the super bowl as a concession to family harmony…. It was pretty amazing to see a man who’d been chosen in the 6th round of the draft and written off by every other team in the league turn into arguably the best quarterback to have ever played the game. Because I don’t care about the teams I was interested to see what the second half would hold, my poor wife was close to stroking out and needed an adult beverage to calm herself….my heart rate remained at its normal resting rate of about 63 beats a minutes for the entire game…as with all sport it’s not always just about talent it’s also about the emotion and momentum of the moment….when the Patriots strip sacked Ryan and they made the game 28-20 it was clear the Falcons were already heading downward you could see it on their bench and in their faces…they thought they’d won at the half and weren’t prepared for the possibility that someone might claw their way back into the game. That’s a great object lesson for all of us who coach youth sports, or just live a normal life. Never stop playing until the final whistle blows…as I get closer to full retirement, I realize I don’t want to be one of those guys who works in the yard and the garage after he retires and patiently waits to die….I intend to keep pushing myself onto new adventures…I’d like to take my sailboat down the east coast and over to the Bahamas, perhaps moving to Florida but sailing to the Keys and then sailing to the Virgin Islands from Florida…big blue water adventures….maybe I don’t get that… Read more »

“I don’t want to be one of those guys who works in the yard and the garage after he retires and patiently waits to die….” Well, who the hell is going to clean that mess up!?

Veritas Omnia Vincit

217 AC, Who’s going to clean it up? Somebody after I’m dead if I do it right…

Dino, let me know when that book comes out, I’ll need some good reading on those slow sailing days!

Dinotanker

I tell that to my boys VOV; don’t ever give up. One gets it, one hopefully will. Im more of a college football fan than prof ball (GO GRIZ! GO ARMY!)

I do the same thing, I spend my days off in the garage fooling around with and then riding one of my motorcycles. I did wander through the house about the time they tied the game. HOLY CRAP…whether you like the Patriots or not, that was one hell of a comeback.

I hate it when the teams do the “Oh hey, were gonna win, theres only two minutes left so lets just ground the ball…” THAT pisses me off…PLAY TIL THE END MOFO’s! Sorry about that, I think that’s the business end of football coming into play. Umm off the soapbox, good on both teams for playing to the end.

Heres my goal for when I hang up the radiation detector: RIDE my sidecar rig (so I can carry more stuff) to each and every obscure site that pertains to the military history of North America, and then write one of those old fashioned book thingys about the trip. 🙂

NavyEODguy

Yeah, my Blushing Bride was bouncing all around when the Falcons had a fairly big lead.

I told her there are four teams in the NFL that you have to play like hell, never ever let up & keep running up the score until the clock says zero.

The Bills, the Saints, the Packers and the Pats. They’ve all been know to make great come backs when other teams would have wanted to pack up & go home.

HMCS(FMF) ret

I remember seeing Johnny U the last couple of years playing… and Joe Montana win his four rings with the ‘Niners… but Brady, IMHO, is the GOAT!

2/17 Air Cav

Like many of us at TAH, I have seen a few NFL games in my time and more than a few NFL quarterbacks. For me the tops of the very good were Bart Starr, Johnny Unitas, Broadway Joe Namath, Roger Staubach, and Joe Montana, in no particular order. Other very good ones followed them, but nothing and no one compares to T. Brady. I’m not talking numbers, I’m talking field general. It’s as if that SOB can see things before they happen. And on Sunday, when the Pats were down by 25 freakin’ points, it truly seemed other worldly to see Brady’s I-got-this light turn on. I’ll tell you, I was rooting for Matt Ryan and he did all he could, but I swear I saw the best q’back ever on Sunday in Brady.

HMC Ret

Sail Away, VOV!

HMC Ret

I told the Russian when the spread was 25 points that the Pats would come back. I told her Atlanta better not get complacent, they needed more points. It’s almost in Brady’s genes to make stunning comebacks. BTW, I despised the Pats and Brady for years, but, know what, I’m kinda warming up to him. I also like his politics. He said his wife begged him to retire after this game. No doubt to me, he’s the greatest QB in NFL history, along with Montana.

Instinct

My favorite part, even though I am a diehard Cowboys fan, is how the lefties exploded over the Pats winning.

Apparently it was racist of them to win during Black History month. The tears…. so delicious!

Eden

SRSLY?!?!?! Is there no end to their stupidity???

68W58

Apparently there were a few making noise on twitter. Because the Pats were Trump’s team and Atlanta was John Lewis’ (or something, who knows). When you look for politics in everything you end up making ridiculous associations.

Google “Toure Super Bowl tweets” for an example.

CWORet

Funny. I read this elsewhere:
“Liberals are now calling for the Falcons to be declared Super Bowl champs because they led for most of the game.”

Sonny's Mom

Thanks, I needed that! Were the Falcons bummed because they didn’t get participation trophies inscribed, “Runner-up Is First Loser”?

A Proud Infidel®™

Damn, I thought that “#NotMySuperbowl” was someone’s idea of a smartass comment!

The Other Whitey

A football team winning fair and square is racist?

Jee-zus WEPT!

LC

I think it’s a whole lot more accurate to say ‘a few crazy people somehow linked the Pats win to racism, and most others told them they were full of shit.’

I’m considered a ‘leftie’ here and I’m a Skins fan and a Pats fan. The win was awesome and well-deserved. No lefties whom I actually know tied anything racial to it, and I know quite a few.

Also, Brady is a freaking legend.

Eden

I went into the Super Bowl looking forward to nothing more than enjoying a good game. None of the teams I care about were playing, so I didn’t care who won. Then I noticed that Jake Matthews was playing for Atlanta, so I started pulling for them. Oh, but Martellus Bennett was playing for New England, so I was conflicted again. We were planning to leave the pizza place at half time (I wasn’t feeling 100%), but stayed long enough to watch a surprisingly decent show by Lady Gaga. Went home and kept up with the progress online (no TV reception at the house). I must admit I was a little shocked when the game was tied at the end of regulation, and the Pats scored VERY quickly in overtime. It brings home a lesson that we have all had drummed into us: Complacency kills.

2/17 Air Cav

Know what else kills? Fear. Par. A. Lyzing. Fear. And that’s what the faces on the Falcons’ sideline reflected: fear.

Eden

True, although, not being able to see the game at that point, I didn’t see their faces.

The Other Whitey

I’m none too fond of the Pats, but they upped their game substantially in the second half, while Atlanta made the fatal mistake of assuming they had it wrapped up and could coast.

As for the NFL, I’m a born & raised Chargers fan. Now they’re leaving (may that sack of shit Spanos be assraped in Hell), and honestly they ain’t worth keeping anyway. There’s rumors of the Raiders coming to San Diego, but I’ll burn that stadium to the ground and piss on the ashes before I see the fucking Gayders take it–of course, I’ll have to get in line with everyone else to do so. Bottom line, apart from not liking the Patriots and 49ers, and utterly despising the Raiders, I no longer have a dog in the fight.

At least I can still root for Notre Dame during college season.

AW1Ed

I have a copy of Washington crossing the Delaware. It’s captioned, “Americans. We’ll kill you in your sleep on Christmas.”

A Proud Infidel®™

I wanted to see Atlanta win, but after they went “Awww, SHIT!” in the fourth quarter I have to say the Patriots won fair and square. I see all the snowflake moonbats going apeshit over the Pats winning as a silver lining as well.

CWORet

Now they’re saying that Matt Ryan had an unsecured private email server in the locker room that was hacked by the Russians, who downloaded the Falcon’s playbook as an email attachment at halftime and gave it to Brady…

Bill M

Yeah, that’s it. And Trump told them to hack it too. And the Falcons won because they led for most of the game and they won the popular vote…and…and…
One of the funniest things I saw was Hillary’s head pasted on Ryan’s picture in a Falcon’s uniform.

Dustoff

Being a Carolina boy, I’ve been a Panther fan since they were born (1993). It did my heart good to see the Pats break the hearts of our arch rivals!
