Tuesday morning feel good stories

| June 14, 2016

Kevin sends us a link to a story from Victoria, Texas, where a shop owner was forced to shoot and wound a thief.

In Queens, New York, a criminal was robbing a local bar. When he reached for cash in the register, a retired policeman who was in the bar at the time, drew his weapon and fired at the crook. The criminal was DRT (dead right there).

21-year-old Carlos Sanders in St Johns, Florida, along with some pals, tried to force his way into a home, but the rude occupants fired their gun at them. Carlos was found alongside the road nearby DOT (dead over there).

A Coca-Cola driver was delivering to a Family Dollar Store in Memphis, Tennessee when he spotted a couple of men stealing drinks from his truck outside. the driver went outside and one of the men ran away. 19-year-old Dashun Dye however hung around until he heard that the police were on their way – he left at that point. Then, he returned and threatened the driver who shot Dye. He was DRT (dead right there) when the police arrived. The driver won’t be charged.

Here’s one from Mexico where three thieves tried to rob some bus passengers. One of the thieves fired a round into the roof of the bus to scare their victims into submission. The bullet ricocheted and struck down one of the thieves who died right there from the errant bullet. In the confusion, the passengers then subdued the other two thieves, beating one to death and holding the third for the police.

In Houston, Texas, a homeowner returned to find someone sleeping in his bed. When he confronted the intruder, the homeowner was attacked. He pulled out his pocket knife after enduring several blasts from a BB gun to his face. The homeowner stabbed the man several times. The intruder then started waving a machete – the homeowner broke free from the altercation and promised to get medical aid for the injured man. When he returned, the intruder was DRT (dead right there).

Wow…plenty of DRT good news this morning….and one self inflicted DRT.

Damn damn damn. Meant to hit reply and hit “report” instead.

So, this is an odd place to ask this, but I’m limited to my mobile device right now and using the search function is fairly tedious on my phone.

A while back (within the last 2 months?), Jonn posted a list of all the “feel good stories” that TAH had reported on over the previous year. I’d love to have it on hand right now (currently firmly rooted in a 2nd amendment debate) but I can find it because I don’t remember the article title. Can anyone help me out with a direct link?

Claw

Just scrolled back through the previous years worth of feel good stories.

Was unable to find any entry that was a recap of previous feel good stories.

Are you sure it was here on TAH that the recap occurred? Because I don’t remember seeing any thread like that.

Not saying it wasn’t posted, but maybe it was posted and then taken down.

Claw

Jonn got it.

Disregard my comment.

Mea Culpa.

Claw

Aah, I see where I screwed up.

It was listed under the “Guns” category and not “Feel Good Stories.”

Sorry about that.

Bingo. Thanks Jonn, and apologies for sidetracking the comment section everyone.

6 events, 6 bad guys dead, others wounded, and none of the victims lost their lives or their goods. This is how things turn out when good people resist bad people.

I have to admit….the “terminal beat down” the bus passengers handed out to one of the thugs did make me giggle like a hysterical school girl.

I would have paid to see that and brought the popcorn.

SFC D

shoulda been a spew alert on that one. Owie. coffee through nose.

Ex-PH2

Ditto. I would have brought cold beverages to it, plus sandwiches.

Aahh, DRT’s and DOT’s, fewer punks being housed, fed and clothed at taxpayer expense.

Hondo

Looks like armed citizens and perps played a double-header yesterday. So here’s the daily batting line analysis for the armed citizens.

Min 10 total perps (10 PAs); 6 DRT/DOT (HRs), with 1 in custody and presumably beaten severely (extra-base hit) and another in custody (1B) – plus 2 more on the run after an unsuccessful attempt at crime. That’s 8-for-8 with 6HR and another extra-base hit, plus 2 walks. Damn fine day at the plate IMO.

Too bad about the homeowner getting shot with the BB-gun and roughed up a bit, though – both of those can kinda sting. But it looks like he got even bigtime.

And he also definitively proved that bringing a BB-gun to a knife-fight is not exactly a winning strategy. (smile)

The Texas story. . . there’s SO much wrong with that story. The perp sleeping in the homeowner’s bed. BB gun. Pocket knife. Machete.
The only good thing is the DRT.

SFC D

Sounds like a Quentin Tarantino movie

B Woodman

A ricochet from a roof? That’s either one strong roof, or one weak round.

Hack Stone

He would have survived if only he was wearing a reflective PT belt. Or a Kevlar sombrero.

Dapandico

Mexican jumping bullet.

OC

^^^^^^
Dapandico wins the intertoobs for today!!!!

Kevin

Good shooting by NYPD retired officer, right in the head.

WTF Tuesday stories? Lol this is just awesome! I guess you shouldn’t bring a bb gun to a knife fight!

Spurred some funny memories. My Dad, who is 84 now, spent from age 16 to 68 with a bb lodged under the skin directly over the cheekbone. My sadistic paramedic Aunt begged to cut it out of his skin one night over a few beers. And so he let her. I had so much fun growing up showing it to all my friends and making them rub / roll the bb under my Dads skin, with his cheekbone making the perfect backdrop to feel the bb.

I on the other hand, at age 12 hit myself in the thigh with my own .22 long rifle round No shit true story! Put the fear of the Lord into me and I got by ass whooped by Dad. For shooting at pool table balls on an old stump….

OldManchu

to clarify – the .22 hit was a RICOCHET hit.

Doc Savage

You just cant make this shit up in Hollyweird.

OldManchu

You got that right!
It was some redneck Family evening when my Aunt cut out the BB with a razor and napkins. Mom still has the BB in a Ziploc bag. And Dad has a decent scar.
