Monday morning feel good story

| June 1, 2015

Our story this morning comes from Florida where you should only hail a cab, if a ride is all you want;

According to police, a 36-year-old man and his 34-year-old male relative, both known to the 51-year-old male cab driver as a result of frequent calls for transportation, hailed the cab and allegedly attempted to rob the driver at knifepoint.

The cab driver, in an effort to protect himself, retrieved his firearm and shot the 36-year-old man.

The driver told police that the subject and his accomplice fled the area after he fired his weapon.

Officers at the scene observed evidence that someone was injured and followed a blood trail to the area of the suspected 36-year-old’s residence.

Both men were located by officers and the driver identified the suspect as the person who held him at knifepoint.

Sebastian police attempted to offer medical assistance and requested emergency medical services for further treatment, according to police.

The man died as a result of his injuries en route to the hospital.

Sebastian police did not give information about any injuries to the cab driver or the suspect’s family member.

Knife, gun fight, don’t bring it. Thanks to Chief Tango for the link.

Word to the perps out there who manage to get get their silly asses ventilated: Don’t compound da stoopid by going home after you’ve been shot. Successfully treating gunshot wounds at home usually doesn’t work, unless your brother happens to be a trauma surgeon. /sarc
