Richard Stoops, the perpetual phony

About five years ago, we first busted Richard “Dick” Stoops for being a phony Korean War Ranger. He had fooled the Missouri National Guard with his tales of derring-do to the point that they let him back in the service after the Vietnam War, even though he was too old. The Missouri National Guard Hall of Fame were preparing to honor him, when we interceded with his records.

Two years ago, he benefitted from an “Honor Flight” to DC, wearing a Purple Heart patch on his jacket – he arrived in Korea after hostilities had ended, so he has no Purple Heart.

Anyway, he’s still at it, according to the Amarillo Globe News, he was at a Veterans’ Affairs event to honor former POWs;

Former VA leadership chose to hold the events on April 9 — Former POW Recognition Day — and POW/MIA Recognition Day in September.

[…]

Some of the men were held for months, others years. One man kept track of his captivity down to the day.

“If it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have our freedoms and our safety,” Kingham said. “It’s very humbling to hear their stories of what they’ve gone through for those freedoms.”

The attendees were David Billings, Uell Carter, Scott Downing Jr., Sherman Jones, Odelle McAvoy, Alfred Shoffit, Clifford Solomon, Richard Stoops, Charles Sturgeon and Richard Trask.

So, I guess he moved from Missouri to Texas and he’s started his little game all over again. I remember when we first busted him, his family told us that he was going to die if we went public with his lies. I guess they’re not worried about that anymore. His family knows he’s lying and they still help him to lie. The VA is honoring him, so it’s reasonable to assume that he’s getting POW benefits from the agency, even though Secretary Eric Shinseki told Senator Patty Murray that the VA had scrubbed their POW lists.

Oh, let me.

GT: Turd.

API: Turd-sniffing sparkle-farting mushroom-eating swamp donkey.

Sparks: Shitbag.

Moi: Imbecile! If I’d known all you have to do is make shit up, I’d have run right down to the local NG armory and signed up.

NEXT!!!

Green Thumb

Funny.

I bet, as Jonn stated, that the VA is paying him.

Sad.

Ex-PH2

Paying him – yes, probably, and that annoys me. It could go to someone who actually needs it.

jedipsycho (Certified Space Shuttle Door Gunner)

Do we know for sure that he/it actually has one?

Good point!

Uggg. I’ve broke starch in that khaki uniform. Well, not THAT one. Mine didn’t have all the BS on it.

Hack Stone

So, is he still All Points Logistic material?

Green Thumb

He might be to old.

If he falls down, Commander Phil Monkress might have to pay him workers comp.

I doubt Phildo wishes to do that as he (Phildo) pockets most of the money for personal use.

Just look at al of the people All-Points Logistics has “kicked to the curb”.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

C’mon now. He’s in Texas as part of Jade Helm 15.

Thunderstixx

He’s one of the 1200 they sent to take over Texas.
1200 to take over a state that routinely kills bad guys at the rate of about 20 a week…
Yeah, 1201, that oughtta work!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this pisses me off. You’re probably right about the benefits. I mean, the VA honored him so maybe they saw his classified secret-squirrel records. You know, since they base their entire benefits system off of actual military records. It’s not like someone can have a grand story without records and get benefits.

OWB

Am beginning to think that having an actual military history is a disadvantage in getting claims though the VA. Frauds seem to get right through while real veterans have to wait. And pay attorneys. The real shame of that is that real vets have their benefits reduced by whatever the attorney takes, while those claiming unearned benefits don’t mind paying attorneys some of their take – it’s all gravy anyway.

Big Steve

And naturally, he’s got a CIB, Ranger tab, I think I see pathfinder on his lower left sleeve, etc., etc.
This old coot, doing this for so long, must have an exceptionally bad case of low self-esteem. And he has no shame. Apparently, this SV gig is his life.

Green Thumb

Stoops is a professional shitbag.

A Proud Infidel®™

I’m sure he merely thought that moving somewhere else would allow him to resume his antics. SURPRISE, ASSWIPE!!! The Internet is not only forever, IT’S EVERYWHERE these days, and your shit will catch up to you. Enjoy your latest dose of internet fame o toad snot-headed underwear-skid-mark-sniffing snotweasel!! 😈

Sometimes I hate to even admit that I am a Korean Veteran when we have guys like Stoops running around. I have several service medals that I earned during my service time between 1950 & 1953, and never once have I displayed them, fact is, I have no reason to display them. After all the shit that Jonn and myself went through a couple of years ago with a couple of Korean phoneys, I hate to even say I was a Korean Veteran, so we’ll just leave it as is and I’ll pass on say what I think about this Stoops Phoney

C. Long

Is that the Glider badge?

CLAW131

Yep, it sure is.
Although the last glider operation was in 1945 and the school closed down in 1948, and he didn’t join the Army until 1950, he still thinks he earned one.

Add time traveler to his list of accomplishment.

This could be Jerry Vroombout’s father.

Glider training at Ft. Benning closed sometime after March 1948 — that’s when my father became parachute and gliderman qualified. The qualification certifcate awarded both badges. He had to make three landings in a glider and their graduation was delayed a week due to weather.

Just did a Wiki; according to

Damn! I hate it when I do that. Here’s the quote:

Following World War II, the United States maintained only one regiment of gliders. Gliders were used in military exercises in 1949, but glider operations were deleted from the US Army’s capabilities on 1 January 1953.
