The hate speech of the season

| December 5, 2008

This video is from Fox News and just a little scary. Dan Barker of “Freedom From Religion” calls the nativity scene “hate speech” and says that Christmas is presided over by a little baby dictator and that Christians stole the winter holiday from “us human beings”.

I wonder why these “Freedom From Religion” types aren’t going after any other religions besides Christianity and Judaism. Maybe because they’d get their stupid heads chopped off? With all of the problems in this country, I think it’s pretty amazing that someone would feel the need to expend energy worrying about the “hate speech” of the Nativity. I guess we can expect the anti-circumcision people to become more vocal this year, too.

Picked up at Gatway Pundit.

To these idiots, from the mouth of Tiny Tim, “God bless us, everyone.”

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had one of those plastic baby Jesus dolls talkin’ crap at me as I drive by. It’s high time we stop the hate.

Don’t you realize that Fox News runs stories like this just to stir things up amongst its neo-con fanbase? You all are falling for it hook, line, and sinker…

Skye

Of course Fox news is, of course, Zombie.

Now be a good he/she/it and run back to CNN.

Fox News Zombie

Remember this is the same station that ran polls saying McCain won the debate with 90%!!! Ha!!!!

Fox News Zombie

Nice response Skye. Someone is a little touchy…

Come on Fox News Zombie, we know what you’re thinking, so get in touch with your inner racist and say what you mean when you say “neocon”…..The Jews….The Jews.

You anti-semetic creep.

???

McCain certainly did win every debate against the Manchurian. Hell, my 6 year old nephew could out debate him.

The best debate was the floor cleaning Palin performed with Biden’s butt.

FNZ,

Foxnews didn’t put the ignorant words into that idiots mouth. They just let him have his say. You know… Fair and Balanced. Skye’s right… go back to CNN. Oh… and by the way… I’m not a neo-con. I am not a liberal who newly came to the conservative movement. I am and have been, an AuH2O Conservative who has been sick of you libs having the only voice in the MSM for years. You have a problem with Foxnews? Good. I’ve had a problem with the other stations for years. Welcome to the party.

AuH2O Hee hee hee. I’ve felt so old lately, it makes me feel good to see a reference I almost don’t get because I’m so darn YOUNG!!! You made my day.

Happy Birthday, Jordan. Remember: you’re not an adult till you pay your own rent. 🙂 Momma

Years ago there was a story in a San Diego newspaper. A lady called the police to report some lewd behavior on the part of a male neighbor in a nearby apartment building. Seems he was naked in front of his window. The police checked a map and noted the the guy’s apartment was actually some distance from the complaining lady.

Upon further questioning she allowed that she had used her binoculars to see his nudity.

Moral here is that some folks simply go out of their way to find fault with others to reinforce something don’t want to acknowledge. It’s irrational to the point of being defining. Certain Muslim extremists come to mind as Jonn noted.

Off topic: Actually there is a religious symbol the bothers me. The flight 93 memorial!

Tthe Observer

The USA is currently (emphasis on current) a secular government by law in order to protect religious beliefs, so that no state-sponsored religion or even lack of religion (whatever one you choose) is enforced upon the people. That means the government and our legal system is supposed to be secular (or religion neutral if you choose)to make it immune to the trends of the times and so it covers all beliefs (“In God we trust” only became the national motto by act of Congress in 1956 for example). That means that if you believe in Allah, Jehovah, Bhudda, Jesus, Wodin, Thor, the power of the atom or nothing at all, you are free to do so as long as you do not break the secular law (which applies to them all) in pursuit of that belief. Some politicians seem to want to change this arrangement (toward Christian ideas at present).

In this case both sides are hobbled by their mutual dislike of each other and negate the other’s statements. Barker set up that sign to cause a reaction to draw attention to his cause and to stick a finger in the eye of people who really don’t like his point of view and in his opinion wield a lot of power in the country at this point in time. By giving him time those folks on Fox are helping him not hurting him and he knows it. Any publicity is good publicity when your position is in the minority. He’s smarter than they are giving him credit for.
