More ISIS threats to military personnel
ABC News reports that a group calling themselves the “Islamic State Hacking Division” have released a hit list of 100 military personnel for their supporters in the US to target. As with our own terrorists who like to brag about their nonexistent hacking skills, the purported ISIS hackers say that they’ve breached government computers, but that doesn’t seem to be the case;
The information about the U.S. military personnel appears to be derived from information found in public records, basic online searches, news reports, and on social media…Officials have not indicated the information was hacked from government servers.
The New York Times quotes the internet posting;
“With the huge amount of data we have from various different servers and databases, we have decided to leak 100 addresses so that our brothers in America can deal with you,” the Islamic State’s so-called Hacking Division said in the web posting.
It added: “And now we have made it easy for you by giving you addresses, all you need to do is take the final step, so what are you waiting for?”
Reuters says that the military authorities are taking the threat seriously;
The Pentagon said after the information was posted on the Internet that it was investigating the matter. “I can’t confirm the validity of the information, but we are looking into it,” a U.S. defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said on Saturday.
“We always encourage our personnel to exercise appropriate OPSEC (operations security) and force protection procedures,” the official added.
The cyber terrorists ask what their acolytes are waiting for…well, they’re probably waiting for a gun ban or an ammo ban from this administration. Notice the only place that military personnel have been targeted on this side of The Big Water is in Canada where gun control is real. US military personnel have more and easier access to firearms in their homes than they do on military bases.
But, it’s pretty common for terrorists to try and create fear with empty threats as we’ve been accustomed to our own domestic terrorists who can’t seem to stay away from this blog.

Wonder if this “targeting” will give posers second thoughts about pretending to be SEALs, snipers, Rangers, Compass Call pilots, CPO’s ….?
That makes me wonder if they’ve targeted those who have bellowed the loudest about their service, aka posers and embellishers?
How do you spell Karma? B-A-T-E-M-A-N
Maybe…
Oh wait…
I can’t go there…
Dammit…
Yeah, just to clarify. I do not wish Bateman any ill will (seriously). But, he’s his own Einstein. Maybe writing articles bragging about his rank, his deployments, and his lack of PPE wasn’t such a brilliant move, eh?
“Notice the only place that military personnel have been targeted on this side of The Big Water is in Canada where gun control is real.”
Shit Jonn, now you’re just trolling Canadian Ed. Are you trying to give him an aneurysm.
That would be a start, CTG.
Allahu Akbar, I hope I made the list. My little Tunisian buddy has not been trolling me lately. He is probably on his way here to get me because 1,500 years ago some guy that climbed onto a winged horse with a human head, flew into the heavens and now is telling him to through secret telepathic communications from the here after.
I mean we all hear voices telling us to do things right? I am pretty sure its my dog, his behavior has always been a little suspect.
Dave, if you spell dog backwards I’m pretty sure you know where that info is coming from.
Don’t care about the hacking. These turds couldn’t hack their way out of a wet paperbag with a map. compass, a machete, and a fully loaded M16 (though it would be fun to watch. popcorn time).
But it WILL get interesting if these sleeper cells (HAH!) decide to finally wake up and attempt to do their overseas master’s bidding. Let the games begin!
Just don’t send Brian Williams for the popcorn.
Williams can find popcorn, he just can’t find the truth…even when it sits on his face and wiggles for a bit.
Hacking is that what they trolling Facebook? They now have the skills of a pist off ten year old..
Its called fingerprinting. While mostly innocuous shit is on facebook, there are clues to piece together to paint a picture. Any idiot with a kali linux distro and a trial version of Maltego can get most if not all the information needed to fingerprint and create a pretty accurate map of one’s family, friends, military unit, etc.
Cheers from your friendly neighborhod white-hat,
Cam
P.S. Let us not forget about Operation Purple Dragon. 🙂
Did those threats against US military personnel come from ISIS or FirsTech Solutions?
Please make a mistake and come after me. I have a common name. My range markers are all in place in case the hired killers AH I mean the hacking squad should find it’s way here. Our local Militia(me and 3 buddies) will light them up. Paul Wickre this is not about you. So have a another Google hit Palmer Wickre. Joe
They couldn’t hack through a blade of grass.
So, has the unnamed U.S. defense official bothered to mention the threat to those service members affected by this?
Yeah, I didn’t think so either.
+100 AW1Ed…Nope, hasn’t crossed their mind yet.
“The Pentagon said after the information was posted on the Internet that it was investigating the matter.” Wow, I feel lots better now! The Pentagon is going to investigate. Hum, wonder how long before they have the initial meeting to appoint the initial staff to look into this?
All I know for sure from the Pentagon about this is, since it involves Facebook and other social media sites…somebody’s got an ARCOM coming!!!
Shouldn’t take any longer than the Bergdahl investigation…
Well, some of my friends that are still in have relayed a sentiment to me, when I asked them what they thought of this little scenario: “bring it, bitches”
I think that sums it up nicely.
Let them try their shit in say, Texas. They’ll be shot to shit before they’re even finished screaming “Allah FUBAR”! Ditto with plenty of other locations in CONUS, shit on every one of those goat-molesting fleabags and their accomplices!
PLEASE come to Texas, ISIS. I need some trigger time and the ranges are full of newbies that muzzle sweep everyone.
This is why I put all of my info on public social media sites. Address and license plate number, why not? Kids’ names, pictures and extracurricular activities? Sure! I also have a strip map of my route to and from work and the exact timeline for everywhere I expect to be during the day. It all fits in with my “Assault Life”, “Major League Infidel”, and various redundant Infantry stickers on the late-model jacked-up truck (complete with Infantry cord on the rear-view mirror) that few civilians my age could justify buying, and my high-and-tight and Affliction t-shirts.
Actually, none of this… I’m usually armed and still have a little of that cocksure Infantry smugness, but I much prefer living discreetly and under the radar. Threats like this are laughable to an extent, but living near a large military post makes me realize how easy it would be to target Soldiers. Just look for a combination of poor fashion sense and proudly displayed trinkets of one’s status as a Soldier.
Camouflage works in many ways. I rather enjoy being considered just another blue collar worker when I go into town. The same can be said of my internet presence; at most, anyone who breaks through my privacy settings will see a guy who spent some time in Iraq 11 years ago but who seems to be Joe Contractor nowadays. The few comments made about my current duties/location put me in a fifty-mile radius of Fort Stewart as a person who does jack and shit…
They had better hurry-I figure it’ll take at least three days for their remains to pass through my neighbor’s hogs so that they are suitable fertilizer. I am going to sew grass after this next forecasted cold snap passes next weekend, so if they don’t show up soon my lawn will suffer.
Watch the movie “Snatch” for calculations on how long it takes how many hogs to dispose of a human body.
I pulled my 36 ID magnetic sticker thing off my mailbox the last time we had this threat. I am considering putting it back on, but I am concerned that I may not be home when some dumbass comes calling and my dog winds up getting hurt. Or my wife, but she has a pistol, and knows how to use it (and a shotgun). I read online that Georgia CCW permit laws allow members of the US Armed Forces with a valid CAC to carry a weapon as if they had the state issued permit. (I am considering a move) Can anyone (fm2176) confirm this?
Simply put, yes: http://www.georgiacarry.org/cms/georgias-carry-laws-explained/frequently-asked-questions/
I’ve not interacted with law enforcement or the justice system myself, but a few Soldiers I know claim that this privilege is subject to interpretation by local authorities. While they may not be able to charge you with illegally concealing a weapon, supposedly some cops will tell you to get a license or leave the gun at home. My response to that is twofold: first and foremost, if anyone knows you’re concealing a firearm, you’re doing it wrong; and secondly, state law trumps local bias. Georgia requires a permit to carry openly as well as concealed, so I have a feeling these Soldiers were harassed for the former. I used to get a negative response from LEOs when I practiced open carry too.
I’m in Green Bay, I’ll leave the lights on and a trail of popcorn to the front door. Come anytime, I’ll be waiting.
ISIS hackers, is like flys buzzing around a pile of shit, annoying, but not really a problem.
All the more reason I stay off myface. It was a really good move when DOD decals were no longer needed on vehicles.
Marines still require them…at least at Lejeune and Cherry Point.
I knew as soon as I saw this mentioned that the clientele here at TAH would look forward to our visitors coming to spend some quality time with us anytime they please !!!
I am like others here with the same thinking, like Bush said, Bring it on !!!
I almost had to do a little bit of lead tinged persuasion today.
They have no idea how lucky they were that I decided to listen to the words of someone much wiser than myself when they said, discretion is the better part of valor…
They were lucky, ISIS won’t be…
Bring it to me, we’ll have a gay old time !!! Just like the Flintstones !!!
Practically all the threats issued by ISIS are done to make them appear strong to the locals. They have a completely different mindset. The very idea that they are standing up to “the West”, even if none of the actions take place, raises their status in the mind of goat-fuckers.
Is there a list we can get at to make sure we’re not on it?
I mean, I’m genuinely afraid. Like so afraid I’m ready to change my luggage combination.
This issue is far more serious than expressed.
Lets just say that this is more than a credible threat.
BLUF: Get rid of your Facebook, Twitter and other accounts. If someone posts your info online, you know who I am talking about, drag there ass into fed court and ask judge for emergent removal of info.
Glad you’re feeling better, Master Chief.
But isn’t this aimed at active duty people, not the ‘forme’ military population?
Do you expect any ISIS idiot wannabes to know – or care about – the difference?
🙂 Well, you see, if it’s going to include ALL of us FORMERS, as opposed to ONLY current AD, I guess I should spend some time at the shooting range getting gunpowder therapy.
I might pick up a couple things of bear spray at the local hunting shop, too, and check the batteries in my removable sports strobe that normally has to be added to a camera. It is blinding when it goes off in your face. I was just going to carry it with me on the trails, in case a bear or cougar shows up, but I could probably make it work for that purpose on jihadis, too.
