Clift to Clinton’s rescue

Eleanor Clift, who claims to be a journalist, was on The McLaughlin Group yesterday, according to the Washington Times providing cover for Hillary Clinton in regards to the Benghazi consulate and the murder of Ambassador Christopher Stevens along with three military veterans who were trying to protect him.

According to Clift, Stevens died from smoke inhalation, I guess that’s a perfectly innocuous cause of death. Of course, it’s not true, anyway, but if it was true, it still happened during a terrorist attack and Pat Buchanan, who was also on the show pointed that out.

Ms. Clift’s reply: The terrorist attack was fueled by the anti-Muslim video. And “it was still a CIA [outpost]. If you’re going to put somebody on trial, put David Petraeus on trial, not Hillary Clinton.”

Clift spent the 90s making excuses for the Clintons, and apparently she’s gearing up for another round. I only mention this whole episode because I’m sure we’re going to hear it a lot more though the 2016 campaign. Clift arms the low information voters who want to vote for Clinton with her bumper sticker analysis of complex issues.

Ambassador Stevens died because the State Department did not act on warnings they had about the uptick in terror attacks directed at Western Nations in Benghazi. Stevens died because they pulled out security details too soon, instead of pulling out the entire Consulate staff.
Ambassador Stevens died as a result of those and other failures of the State Department headed by Hillary Clinton, and he died a painful death hours after the attack had begun. He was pulled from the ruins of the Consulate by Libyan citizens who took him to a local hospital where attempts were made to keep him alive. Those attempts obviously failed, but he was alive when they pulled him out…
Hillary Clinton is responsible for the death of Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glen Doherty. Their blood is on her hands.

This is why we need a real investigation. I am not sure it will get done the way it should. It is not how Stevens died, It’s that he and three others died. With the orange man in charge of Congress I have doubts. It’s ironic they were attacked probably by the guys they were giving weapons to.

charles w

By they I mean the Obama administration.

OWB

Am I the only one who hears, “It’s not her fault, so she should be president. Deflecting responsibility so successfully over the decades proves it.”

No. Just N-O!

Gravel

Just another hack.

Green Thumb

This is bad.

rb,

He was not pulled from the ruins of the Consulate. He was pulled from a car that was trying to break contact, was beaten to death, and according to things I read at the time, gang raped.

There is a picture of his dead body being dragged through the streets. It was on the front page of the LA times.

Don’t apply humanity where there was none.

Sure, and you got that information where? Infowars perhaps?
Numerous bogus rumors meant to inflame and already outrageous situation and drive up readership at several conspiracy driven sites started coming out in the days after the attack, none of which are true.
Ambassador Stevens was found in the counsulate suffering from severe smoke inhalation and was brought to a local hospital where efforts to revive him were made.
He was not dragged through the streets, he was not raped, he was not brutalised.
There is absolutely no need to be spreading bull shit rumors as fact. You just keep on doing so. Only you will look like the fool.

I had read he was raped with a broom stick… maybe he didnt smell enough like a camel for them to get it up…

I also saw photgraphs online accompanying many of these “stories” that were not even him, and were pulled from another completely unreleated story from years prior.

She invoked the video as a rationale for the terrorist attack? Just chuck her on the pile with the other incredible apologists. Oh, and let us not forget an item now overlooked by media–that Wide Load’s department issued a statement regarding religious tolewrance and abuse of free speech, which, when the backlash came, was quickly buried. Some people have no looks. Others have no common sense. Still others have no decency nor shame. Wide Load put them all together in one package. Revisionist history isn’t going to help her. Hey, remember when she was under sniper attack? She ought to just blow away. She’s already dried up like an old prune.

I don’t care if it was an outhouse; it was occupied by a U.S. Ambassador, who was directed to be there by the POTUS.

If I tell you to stand in the street during rush hour and a car runs over you, who’s to blame?

James in Gulf Breeze

From the world of Diplomacy… the attack on an embassy is the same as an attack anywhere else on the US… it is considered US soil.. guarantee you would have heard that if it was Bush in office…

The 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations controls relations between countries. The agreement notes that embassies / consulates are not the territory of the “sending” country.

The property is “inviolable” and cannot be entered without the permission of the sending country (even for something like to fight a fire) but the idea that the property is that of the sending country is a myth.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Eleanor Clift has been promoting Hillary almost as long as Hillary has been promoting Hillary….

Clift’s website reads like a DNC puff piece for Hillary Clinton as the second coming.

That she would be a disingenuous lying sack of shit shill for Hillary is about as surprising as discovering that 75 year olds are worried about social security.

Her presence on the McLaughlin group this past weekend as a serious presence is more indicative of that show’s increasing irrelevance than it is about her abilities as a 73 year old filthy, ex-hippie douche nozzle…

So this picture is NOT Ambassador Stevens? And the others you can find in a simple search are also not him?

http://blogs.nppa.org/ethics/2012/09/14/ambassador-stevens-photo/

For the record, I have never even been to “Infowars” website. I try very hard to avoid the lunatic fringe in both directions.

Tell me then, where is an authentic, verifiable report of the “smoke inhalation” COD? A report by someone not a member of the current administration, or of the media? Don’t list Wiki, they agree with you, and we all know that Wiki is 100% neutral…. is there a published FBI coroners report?

In any event, Our current administration, to include the then Sec State, allowed a US ambassador to be killed, and did nothing. Nothing that is, except blame everyone else, and then sweep it under a rug. “What does it matter?”

Scott, According to CNN, what you are seeing is not Libyans pulling Stevens through the streets, but rather Libyans breaking into the closet where Stevens was found, pulling him out and taking him to the hospital where he died and was pronounced dead later. http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/world/2012/09/18/damon-libya-banghazi-witness.cnn.html Maybe the term “dragged through the streets” means “dragged anywhere” but when I look at the flooring material, it isn’t that of a street and appears to be fired tile. I am inclined to believe that the picture is of Stevens being removed from the building. There is also a picture which purports to show Stevens being raped with a cattle prod. That picture is definitely false as the meta data on the original shows the picture is from 2009. Pictures are viewed in context and can often be taken in many ways without that context. There are people in this world who will use anything they can to create a false impression of an event. To me, while there are some who want to focus on the steps leading up to the attack and why there was a lack of security are somewhat missing the boat. It is important to reevaluate the criteria for consulate / embassy security and to determine whether how people on the ground calls for security were denied. To me, the more important issue is the alleged stopping of military forces being sent to the area. Why no air tankers were in the area is troubling. But to me, the answer that no resources were sent because by the time they would have arrived it would have been too late anyway is baffling to me. I did not realize that battles and fights had definitive ending times. I didn’t realize that combatants punched a clock and went home at a certain time each day. The idea that the fight ended before resources could have arrived is justification by hindsight. The fact that no one tried to give help is damning and should not be dismissed. Just as important is the lie about the video. The White House knew this was… Read more »

At this link,

Editors discussed the photo at length Wednesday. Managing Editor Marc Duvoisin explained the thinking:

“What makes the photograph disturbing to some readers is also what makes it newsworthy. An assault on a U.S. diplomatic mission, resulting in the death of an ambassador, is a very rare and significant event. The circumstances here made it particularly newsworthy: U.S. military action helped Libyans topple a dictator a year ago, and Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens was well-known to Libyans and admired by many.

“The image of the stricken ambassador, apparently being tended to by Libyan civilians, vividly captured this important event. Times editors, after careful consideration and discussion, selected the least grisly of the available images. Our job is to present an unvarnished picture of the news, without carelessly offending our readers. That is the balance we tried to strike with the Stevens photo.”

The LA Times believes that the photo shows Stevens being carried by Libyan to the hospital. I’m with gitarcarver, that is assistance. YMMV.

According to the hearings, Chris, Sean and a Security staff found refuge in a safe area (not a safe room just a secured area) that had a grated front door, they hid from the attackers as long as they could. As the smoke began engulfing the room it was decided by the security staffer that they had to get out, but out the front door was not option. They went up through an opening in the roof (A Skylight if I recall) the staffer went first, then Chris was helped up, at that point the smoke completely filled the room and Sean (A friend of mine) did not respond to the security staffer calling him to get up and out, and at that point the smoke had completely engulfed the room and area. The staffer during that period lost Chris in the smoke and went looking for him but could not find him. The Staffer them moved to the next location down the road (the CIA Annex) for support and his Long gun and develop and search for the Ambassador. Sean had told us in an email two weeks before they were concerned for their safety, they were concerned that their guards were taking pictures of the building. Vile Rat, we will get to the bottom of this for you….

So basically these two are lovers and it’s obvious. I heard they won’t even let Bill video tape.

The Other Whitey

Uh, last time I checked, doesn’t the CIA use EVERY consulate and embassy EVERYWHERE for something? So does that mean the State Department should move into Langley just because they rent out space to them? Never mind that the “provocative video” meme has been conclusively disproved more than once.
