Iran, the rational actor, Part II

| March 10, 2014

We talked last week about the Panamanian-flagged ship that was transporting weapons from Iran to Gaza. It turns out that there were 40 M-302 missiles, 181 mortar shells and 400,000 rounds of ammunition for AK-47s, according to Fox News. We used to have leaders in the West who would condemn this blatant act of the sponsorship of terror, but because they are all gone, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is left to say it out loud;

“Iran, a brutal regime, has not abandoned its deep involvement in terrorism, its systematic efforts to undermine peace and security throughout the Middle East and its ambition to destroy the state of Israel,” Netanyahu said. “What is new is not Iran’s deeds or its lies, but the desire of many in the international community to bury their heads in the sand.

“Just as Iran hid its deadly missiles in the belly of this ship, Iran is hiding its actions and its intentions in many of its key installations for developing nuclear weapons,” he continued.

“My message today is simple: those engaged in self-deception must waken from their slumber, we cannot allow Iran to continue building nuclear weapons,” he continued.

Of course, folks are worried that Netanyahu’s words will strain relations between Israel and the West, but in the 1st Century BC, Rabbi Hillel the Elder said “If I am not for myself, then who will be for me?” Iran is the main source of terror in the world, and everyone is treating them like any other good world citizen. I guess they’re happy that the airliner went down in Asia this weekend so everyone will ignore the video that the Israelis made of the ship being emptied of it’s deadly cargo.

What purpose is there in one state that hates the West shipping weapons to another, unless it is for warfare.

I could make a ‘conspiracy theory’ link to the disappearance of that passenger plane and this shipment, but in reality, I hope the one was just a terrible accident and the other a misbegotten effort to support terrorists.

Sure. If Iran wants their munitions back, I say have Israel return ’em — one round at a time. I hope Iran is ready to play “catch”.

And not to say that I think Iran will be thankful (I don’t), but at least they got their ship back.

Iran has lots of munitions and doesn’t need this load back. Hamas is short of this type of stuff so it would be more neighborly if Israel give it all to Gaza, pointy ends first.

Netanyahu said. “What is new is not Iran’s deeds or its lies, but the desire of many in the international community to bury their heads in the sand.”

If anyone every pointed their finger at Obama and Company and shook it in their faces, it is this part of this speech. Obama’s ears are big from cramming his fingers in there going, “wa-wa-wa-wa-wa-i can’t hear you-I can’t hear you” Like a child in a tantrum.

Like a child in a tantrum, he needs to be taken to the wood shed out back and have the sense whipped back into him. I think the Israeli’s would do it too. At least I say…let ’em try. Nothing here domestically has worked to get his worthless ass off the golf course and onto business.
