Another heartwarming tale from Code Pink
The other day we reported that poor Medea Benjamin (born Susan Benjamin) was detained in Cairo airport and held overnight in a cell before she was deported to Turkey. She sends us an email today describing her terrible (yet, somehow delicious) treatment;
Just the other day I hopped on a plane to Egypt, eager to join the international delegation of 100 women headed to Gaza for International Women’s Day. Little did I know I would be stopped at the Cairo airport, detained, held overnight in a cell, then in the morning brutally assaulted by Egyptian authorities. They threw me to the ground, stomped on my back, handcuffed me so tightly they dislocated my shoulder, and then deported me to Turkey.
Now the Egyptian authorities are blocking most of the remaining delegates from entering Egypt and traveling to Gaza. It has been frustrating and disappointing for us, but we cannot forget that almost two million Palestinians remained trapped in Gaza while the Egyptian Rafah border remains closed or tightly controlled.
What happened to me was traumatizing, but is minor compared to what Egyptian activists are going through, including women. Thousands of peaceful Egyptian demonstrators have been killed or jailed by the Military Junta since the July 2013 military coup.
See, some Egyptian official got to do what the rest of us would like to do to her. And he got paid to do it. Other reports are that she was dragged through the airport to her flight by her arm across the floor like luggage without the casters. I’m sorry there are no pictures of that spectacle. Of course, we know why she was mistreated by the police; she thought that the Egyptians were restrained by law from treating her like that.
See, that’s what happens when you want to engage in unlawful activities – you get treated like a criminal. I’m sure she misses her Muslim Brotherhood buddies.
What is that line about stupid human tricks? Too bad they let her go so soon.
BWHAHAHAHAHAHA! I would have paid a good paycheck for tickets to a ringside seat to that. And here she bitches and moans about American morality (except hers, of course).
And then when she gets treated different by a different overseas culture, she’s surprised?
She is the embodiment of provincialism.
Bring on the folding chairs, popcorn, and cold brewskies. I’m looking forward to Round Two in the Benjamin vs The Rest of The World rematch.
How I’d love to see a video of that harpy being dragged through the airport, it would warm my heart so.

I had a personal encounter with her back during the Gathering of Eagles affair in DC.
It was both sad & amusing but the best part was when she lied to the cops and they told her to get lost. To keep walking and not let them see her in the area again.
Her eyes were aflame with that challenge, but when she saw the numbers arranged against her she turned tail and walked away. I was hoping she was going to stay put, because one of the cops was reaching for his cuffs and two others for their pepper spray. 🙂
I remember that.
The officer who did that to her should be brought to the US so we can give him as many free drinks as he can handle while he tells us this story over and over again.

Let’s see; she hides behind the very Marines she is protesting for protection in San Franfreako, because her bucket mouth got her thimble ass in trouble, again. Then, she goes to Israel and protests the Israeli government on Israeli soil and can’t understand why she’s being treated the way she is. Then, she goes to Egypt to stir up trouble and thinks she was roughed up and traumatized? The little snowflake has no idea what getting really roughed up is all about. I got worse wrestling with my cousins. One of these days, she’s going to get into real trouble and her pink attired screeching harpies, and I’m talking about the men as well as the women, aren’t going to be around to help her, not that any of them would have the intestinal fortitude to do so, anyway.
I CAN’T WAIT to hear what happens to her next. I was hoping she’d piss the wrong person off while on Turkish soil and end up in one of their jails!! Regardless, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA……
Ooo, Oooo. Sort of a Midnight Cowgirl thing!?
Well, I’d object to you using the term “cowgirl” in reference to Madea, but I broke out the brain bleach material below, so I’ll only note that it was “Midnight Express” that was set in a Turkish prison, not “Midnight Cowboy”.
It is funny how her story changed constantly, first it was they just broke her arm and that was before the airport. Somehow she was on Twitter while being detained and while claiming ot have her arm broken managed to type. That morphed to now the dislocated shoulder. Most of it seemed to be a case of hey look at me, someone please pay attention to me, hey over here.
Methinks the bitch doth protest too much. No deformity or discoloration of the affected shoulder, no obvious pain, her clothes are clean, and she’s holding something with the affected arm. The halfass sling she’s wearing is not and would not properly support an injured arm. I’m calling bullshit on her injury claims.
Looks to me more like she wanted to embellish her story, so she tied a piss-poor attempt at a sling and stuck her arm through it, then started tossing around fantasies about how the wonderful Middle Eastern progressives were so MEAN to her. Given her track record with the truth, that looks and sounds about right.
Too bad it’s fake. This two-faced hippy bitch really has it coming.
That isn’t a sling. It’s a scarf she knotted and threw around her neck. It’s positioned improperly and will doubtless give her a luxated cervical vertebra, which will lead to severed arthritis and shooting pains in her lower jaw. One can only hope.
The very best part is the total lack of self awareness. She goes to a foreign country, and arrogantly expects the same protections that she receives in the U.S. I remember when I was that ignorant about how the world worked. I think I was 13.

They are taken down, usually after failing to disobey repeated verbal commands or physically resisting. Also, handcuffs that are too tight may stem blood flow and may cause numbness. They will not dislocate one’s shoulder. Lastly, I can’t help but wonder whether she was truly deported, in the legal sense. Other than those things, I’m sure her account was 100% accurate.
That would be American Police. Egyptian Police operate under different rules. If your handcuffed behind your back and picked up chicken wing both shoulders could be dislocated. Too bad it wasn’t her mouth that was dislocated.
Oh, I forgot the back stomping she claims. One who is taken down by police can expect a knee in the back until the cuffs are secure. If she had been stomped, her Twiggy butt would be in a full cast.
Medea Susan Benjamin, do not despair. This is a golden opportunity to show the world what Code Pink is all about. You should either make a stand in Turkey, or spread your message in Crimea. Our diplomats there will protect your free speech rights! Go now, quickly, before the media looses interest! /sarc
