Friday morning feel good story

| March 7, 2014

Amy sends us our feel good story this time from Houston and proves the theory that criminals need to do better background checks on their prospective victims;

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened around 9 a.m. in the 500 block of West Road.

An off-duty Houston Police Department Officer said he was sleeping when three men broke into his home. He shot and killed one of the men, deputies said. The officer was not injured.

As of 11:30 a.m., a search was still underway for the other two suspects, who ran away after the shots were fired.

Chief Tango sends us another one from Anapolis, Maryland where a business owner was too intent on keeping his wares for customers;

Officers were called to the Adore Jewelry store in the 2000 block of West Street for a reported attempted robbery around 11:20 a.m. Tuesday.

A victim told police that two men tried to rob the business. One of the men confronted an employee with a handgun from his waistband prompting the business owner to retrieve his shotgun and confront the man, police said.

The suspects subsequently fled the area in a dark-colored vehicle. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.

The Annapolis Police Department should be charging the jewelry store with some type of crime shortly. This is Maryland after all, and the governor or legislators are adament that Joe Citizen has no need nor right to defend himself .

Now, as far as the Houston story, it seems that the criminal element is slow to learn in the Lone Star State. It seems that at least half of the stories of young men turning their lives around originate from Houston. On the plus side, I get to add yet another commemorative t-shirt to my wardrobe. Fo’ Shizzle, Homie, Fo’ Shizzle.

How odd, both on West Road or West Street.

Is Jupiter aligning with Mars, or something? 🙂

Break into a LEO’s house…now that’s too funny. Again, some folks will double down on stupid every chance they get. They never learn.

Houston: More people. More guns. Considering only LA and NY are larger, and both in largely gun-hating areas, you are probably more likely to run into a legitimately armed citizen in Houston that most other places. Hell, the anti-gunners get CHLs here!

Every time I see one of these stories from Houston I can’t help but think we’re taking care of New Orleans’ crime problem, one Katrina refugee at a time.

That is an assertion with probably no more (or less) than 100% correlation with the truth. (Must be racist – Harry Reid.)
