Saturday Morning Feel Good Story

| November 16, 2013

Chief Tango sends us today’s Feel Good Stories. The first is from Missouri and involves a man who forced his way into a woman’s apartment and assaulted her;

According to police, a woman in her 60s answered a knock at her door and a man who she didn’t know asked for someone the woman had never heard of. When she told him he had the wrong house, the man reportedly forced his way inside.

Once inside, the woman told police the man sexually assaulted her.

After the attack, police said the woman claimed the man started to leave the room and she was able to get a hold of a gun she had and shoot the intruder.

The second story is from Pennsylvania where three fellows tried to turn their lives around by robbing the pizza guy with a toy gun – yeah, didn’t turn out like they planned;

“I went to an address that looked legitimate to me. I got out of the vehicle, and three of them came around the corner. One of them walked behind me and I knew something was wrong. Then one grabbed the wings, one went over to the van and one tried going through my pockets,” Perry said.

Perry told detectives that one of the men searched his pants pockets and one searched the vehicle for money. He said the men took off with the chicken wings, valued at almost $18, when he pulled out a gun.

“I didn’t know if (the one searching me) had a knife so I took a couple steps back, bent over and drew my weapon. As soon as they saw that, they took off running. As they left they threw something. It turned out to be a pellet gun,” Perry said.

A follow-up/clarification: the first linked article says that the guy in the sexual assault case has now assumed room temperature. In the second case, the police have now arrested the wing-thieving trio.

I suspect the latter three are going to be surprised to find out how the local police view robbery involving a pellet gun. Dumbasses.

That MO story is a mess. Reportedly, a woman placed a 911 call to report that she FOUND a man dead inside her home when she arrived there. Then, we hear that the woman’s (presumably the same who called 911) answered her door to a stranger late at night, he attacked her in some way, and she ultimately shot and killed him. I smell sardines.

The PA story describes the pellet gun as a toy. Around here, pellet guns are not toys. Folks use them to hunt small game. They can cause some damage. I bet the hardworking victim is a Vet. He referred to his “weapon.”

The way I read it, this all went down at about 01:30.

Police said a woman called 911 about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. When officers arrived, they found a man in his 20s dead from apparent gunshot wounds inside the home. He was later identified as 24-year-old Paul J. Williams.

Police Chief Darryl Forte tweeted early on they had a female suspect in custody. Police also said they were not looking for any other suspects.

The video version does conflict with the printed version of the story. Should be an interesting investigation.

If only the Obama Phone Program were extended to include chicken wings, these young would not have to resort to drastic measures to ensure that the redistribution of snacks is carried out fairly.
