Super 61 video
Jerry920 sends us a link to 60 Minutes which has uncovered the video of “Super 61”, the Black Hawk helicopter piloted by Cliff Wolcott in Mogadishu on October 3, 1993 as it crashed;
The footage that will bring viewers back to the start of the mission, the battle and the downing of “Super 61,” the call sign of the doomed helicopter, is military surveillance footage shot of the mission. It captures the scenes on Oct. 3, 1993, in Mogadishu that inspired the film.
The article says that more of the video will be broadcast on Sunday Oct. 6 on 60 Minutes.

Sadly I can’t get the video to work.
“A unit so secret , we were asked to not use it’s name”. Really? 20 years on, one movie, multiple special news reports and a few books, and nobody knows what unit it was? Just call them Delta or CAG, or Army Compartmented Elements (ACE).
@1. You missed 40 seconds worth of commercials and some comments but nothing of import. The video ends with a blurry scene of the bird’s impact. That’s it.
@2… Yep, thats right. It’s called unit professionalism. Don’t give a rat’s ass who or what is published. Good for CBS for adhering to the request.
Many, and I mean many, are COMPLETELY fucking clueless when it comes to Special Operations. NO MATTER how many books they read, movies they watch, and magazines they scroll through they will NEVER know or understand.
@4 Doubt it’s unit professionalism but rather CBS trying to cash in on super secret super soldier nonsense.
@2 Plus a really terrible TV show that was utterly unrealistic and sold an image of “Delta” was only “Rambo”.
A unit so secretive? Give me a break. So what? If I say Delta Force 3 times and spin around will I open the gates of hell? So many SOCOM personnel are trying to cash in on their exploits it doesn’t make a difference.
Only reason Lara “war junkie” Logan did this was so the story would sound really “cool and mysterious” to the layman who doesn’t know anything about Delta and other Tier 1 units.
