Assad contemplates third term

| October 4, 2013

The Washington Times reports that Syria’s president Bashar al-Asad is thinking about a running for a third term. Makes complete sense to me;

It’s too early to tell, he said, The Associated Press reported. In a few months, the “picture will be clearer,” and he’ll have a decision on a re-election run. Mr. Assad also said that Syria was undergoing “rapid” changes, and in four or five months, he would be better equipped to gauge the political winds.

Mr. Assad has been president in Syria since 2000. His term — his second — finishes in mid-2014.

I guess folks shooting at each other in the streets shouldn’t be a real factor in his decision.

‘People shooting at each other in the streets….’

He’s in Chicago? Oh, sorry – my bad! It just sounded like gang warfare down in Englewood, that’s all.

No real difference, you know.

i hope assad kicks the allah loving shit out of the terrorists in his country. at least someone has the balls to go after their enemies with extreme prejudice

There’s two words that describe him.

Dick-Tater.

This is his last election. After this, he can be more flexible.

Assad may be a bad person, but he is a hell of a lot better then anything else we would get from syria. oh wait, i forget we are supposed to support al quada now. we had stability in lybia, and egypt, and syria. lybia and egypt were our allies but we decided that it was in their best interests and ours to support al quada to over throw our allies and cause chaos. hell, why not do that to the syrian people too, let them live in fear of violating some twisted islamic law that no one knows about until they are having acid thrown in their faces. syria, under assad, is the only muslim country WITH OUT religion police enforcing sharia law, that must end immediately! the syrian people support assad by a vast margin, doesnt that tell you something? maybe he really is doing what is right for his country and the terrorists that we insist on calling “the opposition” are really as bad as they appear when cutting off unarmed people’s heads.
