Does “Global Warming” Influence Asteroids?
No, of course not – they’re exoatmospheric. But apparently at least one CNN anchor thinks it does.
CNN’s Deborah Feyerick interviewed Bill “The Science Guy” Nye on air recently. After discussing the recent New England blizzard with Nye and it’s possible connection to “global warming”, she asked him the following question:
“Talk about something else that’s falling from the sky and that is an asteroid. What’s coming our way? Is this an effect of, perhaps, of global warming, or is this just some meteoric occasion?”
Yes, teh stoopid appears strong in this one. As does the agenda.
Such biased and ignorant sources are the main source of most Americans’ “news”, such as it is. And many Americans are so scientifically illiterate they don’t know they’re being had.

Does being liberal cause brain damage all by itself, or does the liberal media lobotomize their mouthpieces when they hire them? Maybe they just make them guzzle liberal Kool-Aid while they’re in the makeup room, and we all know that stuff causes brain damage!
Global Warming may not influence asterroids, but it sure influences hemmorhoids and other assorted assholes
And swamp ass, global warming always gives me swamp ass.
Between this and the Fox News Reporter saying Germany gets more sun than the US, it is clear that the state of science education among the Liberal Arts degree holders is poor.
Depends on where in the US, but yeah, the FNC reporter was partially right–solar in New England versus, say, southern Germany (both roughly the same latitude) ain’t even close.

So now all we have to do:
–Cover Arizona in solar panels
–Huge extension cords
–????
–PROFIT!!!
Does Feyerick know what an asteroid is?
Ex-PH2: perhaps she’s misinformed as to the definition. See comment 2 above. (smile)
Hondo, we forget that the education in public schools nowadays is frequently so deficient that these people couldn’t pass a sixth-grade final exam from the early 19th century.
@8, The public education is deficient. My 4th grader came home really upset one day. The other kids kept telling her that since she is Alaskan that she wasn’t an American. She told them that Alaska is a State and that her dad is a U.S. Soldier. That didn’t matter, they still kept saying she wasn’t American. I weep for our children.
Twist, my niece took her kids out the public schools to do home schooling because the lack of quality is so appalling, she’s worried that they won’t be able to pass SATs and ACTs, or whatever entrance exams students take for college now.
And my sister, who teaches pre-med students, has told me that incoming freshmen are so poorly educated that they have to take remedial English, including reading and writing classes.
THAT is scary. If it’s that bad, then the kids I went to grade school were geniuses.
You aren’t the only one who weeps for the kids.
Maybe she got confused and concluded the solar winds blew the asteroid our way.
Is the “main stream” media’s stupidity/liberal slant (or is the redundant) caused by global warming? Get a hot day in summer–Global Warming!–a cold day in winter–Climate Change aka Global Warming–seems to me we used to just call it weather.
The Weather Channel coming up with the stunt of “naming” winter storms to create awareness is, to put it mildly, a friggin joke. Then again, they’ve got an agenda to push, which is why I’m finding it harder and harder to watch them these days.
It is partly a result of the education system. My daughter is in college and even she noticed the difficulties her fellow students with core subjects and just as important the lack of critical thinking by her fellow students.
I saw it over 12 years ago when I returned to college after a 20 year time out and could not believe how ill prepared the majority of the kids were. There was not much improvement for a good percentage of the upperclassmen, I put that on the college, the students do not know any better. I think a lot of the professors like it, they can say anything what they want and it is excepted whole, no matter how biased or false.
“Such biased and ignorant sources are the main source of most Americans’ “news”, such as it is. And many Americans are so scientifically illiterate they don’t know they’re being had.”
WORD.
The asteroid is attracted to the Earth because it wants to have sex with it.
