Your morning dose of irony
You probably remember that the Journal News of Westchester and Rockland counties New York published an interactive map to local legal gun owners’ homes, supposedly to warn their readers about the presence of guns in their neighborhoods. Well, the backlash has been so severe that according to the Rockland County Times, the Journal News has had to hire security, security armed with guns!
According to police reports on public record, Journal News Rockland Editor Caryn A. McBride was alarmed by the volume of “negative correspondence,” namely an avalanche of phone calls and emails to the Journal News office, following the newspaper’s publishing of a map of all pistol permit holders in Rockland and Westchester.
Due to apparent safety concerns, the newspaper then decided to hire RGA Investigations to provide armed personnel to man the location.
Private investigator Richard Ayoob is the administrator of RGA. He told the Clarkstown Police on Friday, December 28 that there had been no problems on site at the Journal News headquarters despite the massive influx of phone calls and emails.
Gee, I wonder why someone who feels threatened would turn to guns for protection. It reminds me of the time that Code Pink’s Medea Benjamin called for Marines to protect her once when she was protesting the Marine Recruiting Center in Berkeley, CA.
RGA Investigations and Security is headed by one Richard G. Ayoob. His background description begins, “After graduating with honors from the Army National Guard, Richard combined his military security training along with his natural business sense….” I guess that he was the valedictorian of his BT unit or something.

Wonder if he’s any relation to Massad Ayoob…
Too damned funny… on all counts. The guy seems to be a quite the contradiction to what those jackasses stand for there, funny how the sheep always go looking for the very sheepdogs they hate when they feel threatened. None of us should be able to protect ourselves though according to them.
But I thought information wants to be free. Why are they so unhappy with the results?
So their newspaper office is worthy of armed guards but not my kids… Makes sense…
This is absolutely the dose of “ahhh” I needed today… Thanks!
I’m guessing those assclowns don’t understand the irony of the situation which they’ve created…
Irony? Really? This early in the morning, never mind the year?
And I thought I was the last practictioner of that.
Don’t laugh, PH2–I was wondering about one of the FB comments of TSO’s battle buddies, not sure if he was being sarcastic or not…then again, strange shit going through the mind at 0400 and all that…
I’d be kind of curious as to whether or not these “journalists” and editors would take kindly to an average (unarmed) citizen coming up to them and demanding to know WTF is going through their benumbed little heads.
I mean, I’m all for a free press as much as the next guy, but if we demand licenses for driving to make sure people don’t do stupid shit out on the roads, or license gun owners/permit holders to ensure they don’t do stupid shit with their boom sticks, shouldn’t we also license journalists so they don’t do stupid shit with a keyboard?
“Journal News Rockland Editor Caryn A. McBride said she was genuinely surprised to discover that publishing a map with the names and addresses of gun owners would result in “negative correspondence,” that is, an “avalanche” of angry phone calls and emails, police reports note.”
File this one under ‘Duh Shit’.

Another classic case of liberal j3rkoffs wanting different rules for you than for themselves….on the plus side at least they didn’t shoot a teenager in their pool….
Caryn A McBride — 4sshole in Chief….nice job sh1thead…maybe next time someone on your staff suggests violating the privacy of citizens in your neighborhood, you will consider NOT doing so….my guess is that you will continue to be an 4sshole, hopefully your sh1tty little rag will go out of business so we don’t hear from you again.
And it’s not a double standard because they have a different set of rules for their enemies. If you agree with the leftist agenda, you have a free pass.
The Ministry of Truth must be protected.
I still want to know how the head of the security company hired by the Journal news “graduated with honors from the Army National Guard.”
@12 – It just tells me the Journal News staff knows less about how to verify the credentials of a “hired gun” and tend to lean in the direction of idiocy as they’re known to do.
The fact they published a map of registered gun owners was a bad idea just doesn’t resonate with them, and they’re likely standing by their excuse that private citizens are dangerous given the backlash they received.
Sheeple.
@12 it’s probably similar to the “Proffesinal” services his brother Lee provides in the biography below….like the time he supervised 700 agents across five states on a single detail…meaning it’s probably some bullsh1t they made up to sound important to potential clients who are too stupid to know any better…but hey, it could all be legit right?
@14. Yeah, it could be legit. And I could have won the megalotto–if only I had bought a ticket.
Those people are pushing Putnam County to deliver gun owner names and addresses — presumably so they can add to their map.

In a case of the goose go got, someone has published the reporters personal info.

@12 “I still want to know how the head of the security company hired by the Journal news “graduated with honors from the Army National Guard.””
Well, Air Force BMT does have honor graduates, the top 10% of the class of 600-700. They also have a top graduate for each class in tech school as well as “senior performers/outstanding academics” who got 95% or more.
Does Army have something similar?
Didn’t someone point out that by publishing this kind of “if I want to steal a gun, now I know where to go” info, if one of these gunowners is robbed they can also sue the paper? Proximate cause or whatever? Wonder if there are criminal charges available? Jonn?
The purpose of the paper was to ‘name and shame’ law-abiding citizens. The intent was to bully those citizens, and to take away their sense of security now that criminals know who has what. The folks protecting the newspaper are on that list – so this hiring is just a stunt to get money from the gun-grabbers.
The owners and editors of the paper are armed, and already carried and have the local police on speed-dial. That’s the irony.
The local citizenry (i.e., not sheeple) need to do a Boston Party Tea dump on every one of this publisher’s “news”paper that they can get their hands on, by hook or crook. Let the ragsheet feel the financial consequences of its actions.
Well, at least Lee Ayoob, the Vice President is listed on the Urinal News map on-line as an active permit holder (blue-dot map)…
Look at Rockland County map, 25 Blue Heron Road, Nanuet, NY…
I am happy to see that since he has managed those 700 “security agents” in 5 states, he at least has an active NYS Permit…
It is puzzling though that Richard G. Ayoob (President of RGA Investigations), of Gair Street in Piermont, NY (also in Rockland County) is not shown as having either a Active Permit (blue dot in the Urinal News map) or Historic Permit (purple dot on Urinal News map…)
2-17 Air Cav #1, who wrote their homepage? It sounds like the drivel that the “corporate writer” would use for the company newsletter at my last job in The Pentagon. I think there was a typo on that page. Where it says that he graduated “with honors from the National Guard”, it should have read that he “graduated with Onerez”. Onerez was a Hispanic guy in his platoon. And going from a limo company to private security is a logical progression. It’s almost as natural as his “natural business sense”. Anyone want to lay down a few bucks betting whether he has ever declared bankruptcy and/or been sued for defaulting on his limo lease? And what celebrities did he provide security for? I have news for him. Despite what they might say, Frank Stallone and Andy Dick are not really considered celebrities.
I found an interesting link with some good comments regarding this newspaper. They also managed to dig up a photograph of Mr. Ayoob fullfilling his duites as New York City Auxiliary Police Department Mounted Unit.

@18. Not the Black Boot Army, I can assure you.
