Dan Choi’s revisionist history
Ponsdorf sent us a link from some clown car called DiversityInc which reports on the courageous nitwit Dan Choi and a speech he gave to some weepy Wendys;
Former Army Lt. Dan Choi was one of just eight Arabic-language experts in his West Point graduating class, and he served in “The Triangle of Death” in Iraq. Despite his unique expertise, his Army career ended abruptly in 2009 after he came out on “The Rachel Maddow Show.” The Army promptly discharged him under “don’t ask, don’t tell,” which prohibited gay and lesbian people from serving openly in the military. The 17-year-old law was repealed late in 2010.
Dan Choi’s military career ended in 2005 when he punched a platoon sergeant in the chest at Fort Drum. And then created a Power Point Presentation of the event for his PFC buddies. That might explain why four years later Choi was still a lieutenant – many of his fellow ring-knocker grads were probably on the majors list before he went on Maddow’s show and outed himself.
And as far as the Army “promptly” discharging Choi…he came out on the Maddow show in early 2009, he wasn’t discharged until 18 months later. 18 agonizing months for those of us who witnessed Choi chaining himself to the White House fence no less than three time while wearing our uniform. That should have earned him a discharge irrespective of his sexual proclivities.
The DiversityInc article continues;
Since then, Choi frequently speaks out about discrimination and violence against LGBT people.
What about Choi’s violence against a subordinate in 2005 – the incident which effectively ended his career as a military officer years before he “outed” himself? Does he speak out about that?
Speakers such as Choi—whose experience links veterans, LGBT people, Asian Americans and others in a compelling story
Don’t link me to Choi’s bullshit career as a fuck-up drama queen.

When I run into people in the anti-war movement or in the anti-DADT movement (which both seem to be one in the same)I always tell them that they are holding up the wrong people as heroes and as a result they are turning a lot of people away from their respective movements.
People like Dan Choi, Matthis Chrioux, Adam Kokesh, and others were shitbirds in the military and who were not stellar servicemen. This is their way of justifying their poor performance in uniform.
Agree with you. People are the message. When Walter Cronkite surrendered to North Vietnam, that was all she wrote. None of the folks in the antiwar movement have his standing with America.
There are way too many “history” events being changed everyday by idiots who don’t like what really happened….
If this LT “punched” me as his platoon sergeant, he’d been in the fucking hospital with my boot up his ass.
About a month ago I opened my college alumni website and what do I see? Dan friggen Choi addressing the cadets of the oldest private military college in the country. When I was there we had folks like Chuck Krulak and Gordon Sullivan speaking to us. I can’t believe somebody there bought into his bs. I wonder if anybody thought to ask about his exemplary leadership as a junior officer. What a disgrace.
BLUF…they put him out because he was a shitty officer, not because he is gay.
Remember, character and integrity are racist and homophobic (at least according to LT Chewtoy).

I’m not going to bag on Norwich here, but my school (A&M) wouldn’t have a shithead like that addressing cadets. In fact, IIRC, GEN Petraeus was the graduation keynote speaker in 2010. One of the officers I commissioned with (we’re both still in) is one of the sons of former VCSA GEN Cody.
