Note to Dan Choi; PFCs are not your friends

| January 22, 2011

Someone sent me a PowerPoint presentation made by DADT Postergirl Dan Choi when the Army first realized they’d made a mistake by commissioning him back in 2005 at Fort Drum when he was relieved for punching a platoon sergeant in the chest. I’m working on a whole post for it for next week, but I could never post the whole thing. But here’s a taste of the crazy;

Of course, this incident happened years before Choi “came out” as a gay man, so you can see he definitely had some issues not attached to being gay. But anyway, Choi made this presentation and handed it out to his PFC buddies in the S-1 shop who in turn passed it out their LTs and it’s been kept under covers until now.

Here’s a lesson for West Pointers and other officers who haven’t been up through the ranks; Privates are not your friends. They’ll screw you every chance they get no matter how nice they are to your face. That’s why they’re privates.

So, he was a princess before he was a queen?

In what fucking world is it okay for an LT to take a poke at one of his NCOs?

LTC Tim

I have a hard time imagining him punching anyone. Maybe a limp wristed slap..but a punch. I’d be surprised if the PSG didn’t laugh in his face. They should have thrown him in Leavenworth then. But then again, he’d probably like that. The CDR probably moved him out for his own safety. You know, depth perception isn’t so good with NODs and a fella could slip and fall…or something.

Daniel

And what was the purpose of the Power Point presentation?

An investigation would involve him writing a concise statement detailing the incident and providing evidence. Making a powerpoint presentation with little Soldiers on it, is just moronic.

The Army should not let Choi back into the Army, not due to sexual orientation but because he is a douche.

John: Please oh please don’t grade all West Pointers by this shit stain. Some of us are relatively normal and not complete morons.

Ah….Unfortunately there are those in the US Army *now* that are skeered of their f’ning shadows. Good thing Choi wasn’t my platoon leader. This POS might have been met with the soap bar in a sock routine…? Can’t figure this crap out for the life of me.

Well, the PSG did dare him to hit him in the chest right?

Raven

Seems like he already had zero respect of his troops if the relationship between his PSG was so bad that the good Sarnt dogged him out in front of people daring him to hit him…

Too bad the El Tee couldn’t handle it like a man, stare down an NCO, pull him off to the side and then have a come to Jesus with the PSG out of earshot of the men. Then to try to undermine his PSG via powerpoint instead of simply firing his ass (if he was unable to be rehabilitated)…yikes. Grow a pair, break down barriers w/someone who could be your best adviser and confidant then charlie mike.

It’s not that he’s gay, it’s that he’s a douchebag is the problem. Someone tell me where being a selfish attention-whore asshole is part of being gay?

Doc Bailey

I will state clearly, that this of one of the reasons I was against the repeal of DADT. The crap like this is often seen as acceptable because someone is “fighting” for their “lifestyle beliefs” in other words its perfectly ok to throw good order and discipline out the window because you feel oppressed. Now some might think he’s a hero, but he has broken serious laws to get what he wants. if he is not forced to live with the consequences then we all lose because the next princess that gets but hurt (woops) about command not letting them dance naked on a pool cue at a gay bar or other such nonsense is going to cry to someone about the “oppression” and point to Choi, as to why it should be ok for HIM to break the law.

You should probably reword that to say “A lesson for Lieutenants without common sense”. I never did something that retarded as a 2LT and I’m sure that the majority of officers didn’t either.
