McCain in his element

John McCain stopped by the Sturgis motorcycle rally this week. Don Surber caught Fark.com being their typical elitist selves;

The lefty Fark.com site mocked this story as “John McCain is set to capture that key ‘bikers who like REO Speedwagon’ demographic at Sturgis this week.”

‘Tis another reminder that as hip as they pretend they are, lefty bloggers are pretty clueless about life unless they’ve seen it on TV.

By the very few pictures (by few I mean as compared to the number and scope of pictures of Obama talking to crowds of foreigners) it looks like he drew a pretty big crowd. But then that’s not surprising – it’s his crowd. Most of them probably have a POW/MIA flag on their jacket or flying in front of their house, or on their bike – John McCain is one of the people they used to fly those flags for.

KOTA TV quoted some of McCain’s speech;

Bikers revved their engines and cheered as McCain talked about plans to start off-shore drilling and to win the war in Iraq.

“We need a commander-in-chief that will end the war in Iraq. But, we’ll win it the right way by winning it. And, we’re not going to be defeated,” McCain said.

McCain likened the sound of revving bikes to the sound of freedom and said bikers defend it well.

“You’re the heartland of America. You’re the heart and soul of America. You provide the men and women who serve our military. I’m honored to be in your company,” McCain said.

Rally organizers say the main reason for McCain’s visit was to honor veterans and servicemen at the Buffalo Chip’s annual ‘Tribute to American Veterans.’

Aberdeen News quoted some more;

‘My opponent wants to set a date to come home. I want us to come home with victory and honor so we will never go back again,” the Arizona senator said.

McCain also criticized Congress for adjourning for a five-week recess without approving a new energy plan.

”Tell em’ to come back and get to work,” McCain said, yelling into the microphone. ”When I’m president of the United States, I’m not going to let them go on vacation. They’re gonna become energy independent.”

Don Surber quoted Cindy McCain;

They also like blond[e]s.

Cindy McCain:

“I’d like to thank all of you for your support of our troops, and here’s why: I’m many things in my life, and one thing I’d like to be is your first lady. But more importantly, I’m Jack McCain’s mother and Jimmy McCain’s mother, one in the U.S. Navy and another one in the Marine Corps, an Iraqi vet.”

Some of our resident trolls claim to be veterans, but they turn on John McCain in favor of a mealy-mouthed little punk-assed crybaby sissy who can’t answer a question without rehersal and a teleprompter and can’t take criticism without hiding behind his skin color. They have weak, half-assed excuses for NOT voting for McCain (and I’m sure I’ll get to read some of them in a minute here) but their excuses for voting FOR Obama are even weaker.

Call me when you get a grown up candidate, Democrats.

Wait, REO Speedwagon isn’t cool?

Navy Dad

Could someone put the photo of the Obemesia’s germany stage shot up against this one of McCain? There has been something bothering me about the BHO photo. The crowd look out of proportion. Both photo’s were taken at approximately the same angle. Color me skeptical but the BHO looked photoshopped
