The Obama fact checker
I was doing some research the other day and I had to go the Obama website which wouldn’t let me in unless I registered, now I get Barak O-spam-a and it doesn’t go away. Even unregistering doesn’t work. But I get to take a look at the Obama crowd as they see themselves.
Today’s email welcomes the 100s of thousands of new people who became interested in the campaign. It includes a “fact check action center” so us new Obama supporters (who apparently came over from the Clinton side, so we’re bitter and uneducated).
The truth is only as powerful as your voice
As the Democratic primary heats up, we’re seeing a lot of politics-as-usual attacks online and in the media. Barack Obama stands for a new kind of politics — a politics without partisan bickering and smear tactics.
You can help push back on the petty and divisive methods of our opponents.
Apparently the petty and divisive methods only include three subject areas; questions about Barak and his faith, Barak and his church and Barak and his patriotism. Each link leads to an email form with pre-written email (remember we’re bitter and uneducated) you can send to your friends (who I’m sure will love the fact that you’ll spam them with form email).
But these “facts” we’re supposed to email are nothing but window dressing. It’s all things other people say about him, it’s editorials from newspapers (that clearly want Barak elected), and more of the avoidance drivel “Barak Obama stands for a new kind of politics — without partisan bickering and smear tactics.” Don’t ask me questions I can’t answer or you’re smearing me.
Follow the link to the proof that he’s patriotic and you find a Youtube video of Obama reciting the Pledge of Allegiance;
Now that’s lame. How many presidential candidates need to have a video of them reciting the Pledge to prove they’re patriotic? In fact, how many have had to prove their patriotism? Even John Kerry, the most anti-American candidate ever didn’t have to prove he knew the Pledge.
There’s nothing in any of three categories (the three that make him most vulnerable, apparently) that quotes anything from barak himself – except that his grandfather taught him the Pledge of Allegiance and worked on an oil drill during the Depression (whatever either proves).
I get the distinct impression that neither Obama nor his campaign understand these “smears”. Outside of this campaign, no one knows Obama and the things he says influences these ‘smears” and unless he can address them directly and believably himself, no number of form emails will convince people otherwise.

Johnn sure hope you can ger rid of the spam mail. If worse comes to worse you can always delete it. Just don’t open it.
Mike
Nice here today in the Syracuse area.

If indeed, “The Truth is only as powerful as your voice” (??????), then let the “Smears” continue and their volume increase. To these people, the Truth is automaticlly designated as an “Attack”, or “Smear”. Vicious, Right Wing Wacko stuff. How dare we point out their deception?
Pointy Headed Pri..s,……..People.
Isn’t it amazing how any attempt to bring the Facts to light have for so long now been characterized by the MSM as this “Gate” or that “Gate”, or, the ever popular and also amazingly adaptable phrase “Swift-Boating”? (aside to Wordsmith, when and how did “Swift-Boating” become a Verb? Seriously, no animosity intended. I’m new at this and constantly afraid that my remarks and attempts at a humorous take will be mis-understood.)
The Truth will set you free. Let’s hope so.
