IVAW; Truth in Testimony

| May 7, 2008

I wrote early this morning about Thus Spake Ortner‘s discovery that the IVAW intend to take their fantasies to Congress. My new buddy, Coby has written a petition that I’d like ya’all to sign. It asks that the Congressional Progressive Caucus;

* Make request of the Iraq Veterans Against the War that member(s) of the Caucus be provided video of the entire Winter Soldier Investigation “testimony” proceedings and be provided access to all those who testified,

*That the Caucus require any testimony given by IVAW be presented in the following format:
D: Date(s) – When did the incident occur?
U: Unit(s) – What military units were involved?
P: Personnel – What are the names of the participants and witnesses?
E: Event(s) – What exactly happened exactly where?
S: Signature(s) – Was this reported at the time or later and were reports, affidavits or depositions signed, or will they now be signed?

* That in the event that staff determines that there has been testimony given that touches on areas where, in the words of Senator Warner, the members of the SASC “have a responsibility to establish where in the military chain of command rests the ‘accountability,’ depending of course, on the accuracy of the facts…”, the Caucus forward the information to the House Armed Services Committee (HASC),

* That the Caucus request and all documents and records, signed statements and recordings, audio, video or digital, that bear on the claims made and being investigated,

* That the Caucus demand that those making such claims or professing publicly to verify those claims be requested or subpoened to appear before the HASC under oath, to answer questions.

You can find the petition here.

If you have the misfortune to live in one of those districts, please contact their offices and express your displeasure and what you expect from your elected representatives. If you don’t have your representative’s contact information you can find it on Congress.org. It’s been my experience that faxes and phone calls get a better response than email (which usually ends up in trash folder before anyone reads it).

I was able to get on the Bob Grant Show out of WABC radio in NYC last night and get this information out on the air. That the Democrats are planning on smearing our troops again by reading the latest set of Winter Soldier 2.1 lies into the Congressional Record.

Conyers and Dullems hosted their own smear in Congress in the 70’s.

509th Bob

In some ways, I actually *do* feel sorry for them. They may have suffered in some ways from their military service enduring actual combat (as opposed to being “psychically” damaged from afar due to their traumatic service in some vehicle Service Pool somewhere).

For those who are ACTUALLY effected, I offer my condolences, but hanging out with LOSERS ain’t gonna convince me that I should treat you differently from a “PX Hero.” For those ACTUALLY effected, this is why VFW posts were created by Vietnam Vets, who were dis-respected by WWII and Korean War vets. People who shared your experiences were there to offer what care and comfort they could, and “guide” you down from your experiences. But to go “show-boating” your inabilities to re-adjust to civilian life only gave Hollyweird the opportunity to crap on you for your service, and your experiences, for more than 20 years. Ask yourselves, IVAW members, do you actually WANT the support of other veterans who might do their damnedest to HELP you out? Or do you want to be poster-children for Leftist Losers who only VALUE you for your “crippled” status, but otherwise actively desire to crap on you in terms of your value to society?

Army Sergeant, I am informed that many such appeals have been made to you in a similar vein. It is not that we, the veteran community, fail to recognize the issues faced by our returning soldiers, it is that we have rejected the willingness to be “used” by the Leftists for their propaganda purposes. Please come into the light, Army Sergeant. We ARE willing to help our brethren (and others deserving of help). If you would like to open a personal line-of-communication, Army Sergeant, ask John or TSO (privately) for my direct e-mail address. I give my consent to reveal that to you.

Hmmmm…

Upon closer inspection of the introductory photo for this post, it seems a vast majority of the people seem ‘well aged’ – are these IVAW or VVAW, Jonn?

Skye,

As you note, the majotity of the folks there are older. That’s because it’s a Vietnam Veterans Against the War production.

The Vietnam Veterans Against the War are so despised by veterans for the Jane Finda funded Winter Soldier smear that they have to hide under the Veterans For peace rock like the cockroaches they are.

IVAW gets their 501(3)c tax deduction on contributions because they are a “project” of the VFP.

Elliottt Adams from VFP is a big time VVAW type, a cooridnator. keep that term at hand, “coordinators” ran the Vietnam Veterans Against the War. Yet at the VFP website, in his bio that he controls, no mention of his long and faihful service to VVAW…

As the bloggers attending Winter Soldier 2.1 noted, there were more old guys than young ones. That’s because WS 2.1 was a VVAW reunion. Hang out, drink beer, sing “Glory Days” and try to smear this generation of military as baby killers and war criminals too.

VFP is on record as giving any and all the suppport they can. And as you know, we know where and we know who.

Another thing about VFP, they’re real thin on real veterans, considering they call themselves Veterans For Peace. They have a large number of associates, veterans without papers on file and veterans without verified papers. And that’s their view on it, not mine.
