Says something when your enemies agree with you
Starting off the week – remember Andrew Cuomo? Former Democrat governor of New York? (No, not former Democrat, former gov.) Had some, what we call “real interesting” things to say this week about Trump’s trial.
Cuomo, in an interview Friday on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” argued that the case should have “never” been brought forward.
“If his name was not Donald Trump and if he wasn’t running for president… I’m the former AG of in New York [and] I’m telling you that case would’ve never been brought.”
Damn near spewed my drink on THAT one.
The case was brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D), who has been repeatedly accused by Trump and his allies of unfairly targeting him as the presumptive GOP prepares for a rematch against President Biden in November.
Trump’s guilty verdict was unanimous among the 12 jurors, though allies of the former president have tried to pour cold water on its legitimacy, pointing to what they believe was a biased judge and jury selection process.
Many have suggested that those ‘unbiased ‘ jurors were as impartial as Hamas leaders at a bris…nice to see someone else imply that.
Cuomo was elected as New York’s attorney general in 2007 and went on to serve as the state’s governor for 11 years. The former governor resigned from office in 2021 after an investigation into sexual harassment allegations and backlash over his COVID-19 pandemic polices. Cuomo has denied the accusations.
Don’t think much of any of the Cuomo’s personally, but as far as Democrat royalty is concerned the name of Cuomo certainly ranks up there in the big-league ranks (and unlike Kennedy, hadn’t fallen on any apostates.)
It’s difficult to argue something negative is a “cheap, made-up fiction” like the White House is wont to do, when the person saying it publicly in front of however many millions watch Maher live on TV is of the party elite.
“And you want to talk about a threat to democracy: when you have this country believing you’re playing politics with the justice system and you’re trying to put people in jail or convict them for political reasons, then we have a real problem,” Cuomo said Friday. The Hill

Trump and Andrew Cuomo are not really enemies, they never have been. I imagine the Trump sees the relationship more as one of near peer from Queens, If not friendly. In the past Trump has given lots of money to Cuomo’s campaigns.
When Trump was President and Cuomo was the governor they would speak on the phone several times a week, sometimes several times a day on friendly terms. Normally when they criticized each other they criticized the federal government or the government of New York instead of the person themselves.
All that being said, he isn’t wrong. He didn’t release a statement after the trial thing all that. But when asked directly, he told the truth.
And this fool now denies all that happened with covid in his state.

Slaton has been confirmed as a Vietnam vet POSer. He never served there. The war for US ground forces was over long before he enlisted in mid 1973. He did serve as a mechanic/crew chief for a Huey Cobra unit in Korea for four months in the last quarter of 1974. His supporters’ bogus claims he was some sort of secret squirrel cobra gunner on TDY to the Viet of the Nam is total bunk. He returned to CONUS in early January of 1975. Saigon fell to the Commies on April 30, 1975.
Thank God it ain’t my district. Sure is fun to watch, though.
