Um, VALOUR-IT

| October 30, 2009

We went to Little Creek, Virginia a few decades ago where the Marines introduced us to amphibious warfare. They began by taking us to their obstacle course and bragging about the course record set by a Marine and daring us to beat it. The instructors stood gape-jawed at the finish line as every person in the company beat their “course record”.

I wrote that to write this;

I’m not accustomed to not beating a Marine challenge. The Marines are a several hundred dollars ahead of the Army in the VALOUR-IT fundraiser, so what with it being payday and such, how about digging in. We’re almost at a third of our goal – so lets kick some Marine ass;

I have other Marine stories I might relate through the weekend.

Pssst; hey Jonn, don’t tell Joe, but I donated. I don’t want him to get the wrong idea about me, because remember, I’m a heartless bastard.

Hey Jonn, isn’t the Army A LOT bigger than the Marine Corps? Just putting it out there.

“Army guys generally have more ex-wives and less money than Marines for some reason.”

LOL! I was going to agree with Susan until I read that.

All kidding aside though, I understand the divorce rate is crazy high and that grieves me.

Jonn, you realize the Marines were giving you the course record for the slowest Marine. What a great cause and nothing like a little competition between Comrades-In-Arms. Go Marine Team. RAH!

Jonn…Don’t get upset with me, but the only differance between U.S. Army Rangers and the Boy Scouts is the fact that the Boy Scouts have Adult supervision…just sayin’…Semper Fi :o)

Hey Jonn, since somebody…I’m not naming names (A Heros Friend) broached the inter-service rivalry subject; I would like to point out that I was going to join the Marines, but couldn’t, because they found out my parents were married. 😀

OldTrooper…It’s okay…Do you know why the Army got the mules and the Navy got the Marines? Simple…The Army got the first pick… :o)

Marine: “In the Corp they teach us how to wash our hands after we go to the head.”

Soldier: “In the Army they teach us how not to pee on our hands when we go to the latrine.”
