Did Alex Soros and The Atlantic just call for Donald Trump’s assassination?
Commenters on X, formally Twitter, lit Alexander Soros up for a post that he generated. In the above image, Alex Soros shows a window with a bullet hole, and a combination of bills totaling 47 dollars. However, these are not just any bills. The first two bills have “4” and “5” respectively. The total number, 47, suggests that this is conditioned on Trump’s being reelected.
Laura Loomer provided a detailed description of the symbolism found among the chosen bills:
???????
SOROS ASSASSINATION THREAT AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP EXPOSED!
Additionally, further exposing how @AlexanderSoros just sent out a cryptic assassination hit on President Trump, John F Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963.

Lapse in judgement, or something more sinister?
Category: Donald Trump, Liberals suck, Politics, Society
Most unhinged mental defects on the left just come out and say it…cute that this piece of shit is all cryptic…he must have one of those coveted liberal farts degrees.
While that may be true, there is also sustenance that says people in it for the “Long Game” will bait the hook often in hopes that someone will take the bate eventually and their goals will be met. While also ensuring that they can not be held liable for any outcome, positive or negative, that results from such a contrived theoretical ideal!
The amount of thought to ensure the picture showed exactly what they intended while not leaving evidence of their culpability is undeniable. Since this is not a stock photo from an archive, there is sustenance to the fact that old bills are used (some so warn that they would be immediately removed from circulation if surrendered to a bank), and that they did not have them grouped by denomination or head to foot. A hidden meaning was most definitely implied!
I note that they weren’t able to glean the meaning of the shot through the windshield, and its deeper meaning. Stand By
An assassination of PDJT, President or not, would be the spark that lights the powder keg.
Be careful what you wish for, LibTurds, you just might get it….and not like it.
No cease fire, no “do overs”.
“War to the knife, and knife to the hilt”.
Oh, please. This is as batshit as when liberals were whining that a 14-word tweet from Trump was a cryptic reference to white supremacy:
https://www.dailydot.com/debug/liberals-claim-trump-tweet-word-count-racist/
What’s next? The upside down $20 and $10 bills signify something about installing the Deep State in 2010? Or the fact that the bullet hole is slightly to the left is a call to action for liberals? Jesus Christ, this is Gematria-like idiocy.
So I take it that you are skeptical.
Before “the chosen one” was elected, I’d have agreed with you, but I’ve run out of conspiracy theories (all having come true), so I’m on the lookout for new ones. And Soros is pure evil, and his son is a mini-me, so it’s not much of a reach for this to be real. Especially if he thinks Trump will finally force his father to pay for his crimes.
On another note, we never got together for that beer LC…
I’m still totally up for that beer — maybe in Spring? I’ve got some upcoming travel, and a host of work-related things to tackle right now, which is why I’ve not been around as much.
You make good points. Insider information? 😉
You’d best watch out – this conspiracy goes deep. Here’s Fortune Magazine in on it back in 2016 – note that picture!
https://fortune.com/2016/05/10/automated-calls-debt-collectors/
But does it end there? Noooo, just when you think a bunch of elite billionaires at Fortune are, 8 years prior, secretly calling on the not-yet-elected 45th President to get assassinated, but god damn it, Marie Claire is in on it too! Hiding it in an article about phone sex, of all things! Diabolical!
https://www.marieclaire.com/sex-love/a20103/i-was-a-phone-sex-operator/
But what really cinches it is the Muslims, in item 4, which surely means 2024, of course:
https://muslimmatters.org/2013/11/03/21-things-learned-21/
Those guys must be fuckin’ clairvoyant, since they used that in 20-fucking-13, all the make a statement about the not-yet-elected 45th President! How can we compete against that?!
Fuck, it hurts my brain that people believe this shit. Secret assassination order? Or already-owned stock imagery from The Atlantic, who also used it in 2020. Hmm.
It is indeed amazing. I’m gonna miss you. Now that you’ve spilled the beans, your days are numbered.
So you are saying that it is a stock photo!!!
Darn, I guess my Googlefu is not up to snuff and back image identification does not well on my computer
I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not, but if not, I find Google Reverse Image Search [1] and TinEye [2] to be really good for finding other instances of a photo. And, some of them, like the first link above, have the Getty Images info [3].
I obviously wanted to share this before ‘they’ get me, as SFC D noted!

LC: You’d best watch out – this conspiracy goes deep. Here’s Fortune Magazine in on it back in 2016 — note that picture! This is no different from using an ancient depiction of sacrifice to Molek as a meme to present an argument against abortion. The fact that it predates the above article does not change the facts that it contains the symbolisms needed to convey a specific message. Prior to AI image generator, I used images that came into existence before the theme of the message I wanted to convey. In the above example, involving the money, the required symbology is already embedded, no need to reinvent the wheel. The fact it was an old stock image does not change the fact that the underlying message, involving expressing an opinion about Donald Trump being assassinated, remains the same. I’ve repurposed memes depicting ancient scenes to convey modern themes using each ancient subject/character to mean something relevant to my argument. In the above image’s case, the right numbers and images were present. Even if the above image predated JFK’s assassination, resurrecting it, especially given the right numbers that show in the image, in conjunction to an article comparing Trump’s time with higher crimes and murders, is no accident. Again, in both art and literature, symbols are carefully chosen and crafted into the message. LC: Fuck, it hurts my brain that people believe this shit. Stop advancing strawman arguments, and your head will not hurt. People have reported this to the Secret Service and to the FBI. Would you tell these organizations to not even interview either Soros or The Atlantic to get context as they do with other similar situations? YES [ ] NO [ ] Copy and paste this statement and question, along with the yes/no options to your reply. Place an “X” in the appropriate box without adding to your answer to this specific question. ‘Fraid to say I agree. If you are the type prone to want to assassinate political figures, you are likely not holding off until some cryptic message green-lights you. If you aren’t likely to do that, you probably aren’t going to be pushed over the edge by hidden imagery. I’m not saying that can’t be someone’s little cryptic joke (check it out – see what all this means??!!) but I wouldn’t have the secret service on the case as a legitimate threat.
The real threat is everyone on the left saying, “He is a threat to our Democracy” and “Trump is a fascist”, etc. If you really felt that someone was going to be legitimately a 40s style fascist dictator, then assassination wouldn’t be off the table, would it? I think the left’s (and the President’s, especially) language that Trump and his supports are extremist fascists who want to take away people’s freedoms is VERY DANGEROUS and is a legitimate threat.

I’ve gone to Third World countries every decade of my life prior to the current decade. Five of my formative years were spent living in a third world country. It was not out of the ordinary for someone, like a populist candidate, to fall victim to an assassination at worst, or threats of harm to the individual or to the individual’s family, or some form of blackmail, that was later associated with those in power who saw that popular candidate as a threat to their continued power.
We are already seeing third world tactics being utilized against Donald Trump, we saw this with the election fraud that occurred in 2020, were seeing this with the nonsense lawsuits and actions against Donald Trump… Expect election fraud on steroids this coming November… The same themes one would see play out in Third World politics.
LC,
What kind of an IDIOT would believe ANYTHING,
no less a new whacko conspiracy theory,
coming from the likes of nutjob Laura Looney?
Well, here it is.
Counting…..
We already know Teddy would.
Because Teddy not only likes to spread the conspiracy theories of others,
he likes to make up his own, too.
Usually for his own benefit… Sympathy, clicks… or $$$.
“Teddy”?
His latest obsession, Teddy Daniels.
SFC D,
This “Teddy”,
who continues lying and conning into 2024, fearmongering HEMP attack and WW3 “within days” or “within weeks” for dollars,
along with more Phony Rambo tales to anyone in South Carolina that will listen.
He’s WORSE than JR Majewski in the war tales department.
He’s up there with expelled NY Congressman George Santos, with the bio lies and claims of accolades and accomplishments,
but he hides behind God, a crucifix around his neck
(9th commandment be damned),
and PH and CIB pins on his caps and jackets everywhere he goes.
But few here at VG seem to give a shit,
and some here give him a pass,
because Purple Heart Phony Rambo Teddy
ALSO pushes “America First”,
and is now “President” of Veterans for Trump – SC.
It’s now very much like some Elko, Nevada folks,
who gave Les Brown a pass for years,
and continued to phony enable and lie for him,
even to the grave,
because Les Brown did so much for “the cause”.
(Elko POW*MIA Awareness Ass)
Well, I see it here in 2023 and now 2024.
The same folks who snark on every lying and dirty Dem
(for good reasons)
turn crickets, or click the thumbs down red -1,
on anything outing or exposing Teddy.
You can’t bitch about the other party refusing to throw their turds under the bus, if you refuse to do the same for the turds in your own party.
You all do know by now,
Teddy was caught using AI Fake Donald Trump voice
in his book sales videos?
Touting himself as a “hero”, using the fake Trump Voice?
Also caught using a fake Joe Rogan voice?
(copy and paste from recent Friday WOT)
Oh, and I’ll leave this here, too.
Newly uncovered by others this past week.
Anyone who watches his nutty videos,
or buys his crap…. (fill in the sentence).

Yes, that’s correct.

Concur. The hint has to be undertstandable, otherwise it’s just burnin’ rubber on the short bus.
That tweet does not even come remotely close to what is mentioned above. Saving our heritage, history, and greatness, used to be something that resonated with both parties. Unfortunately, the Democratic side of the house has been hijacked by socialists. Trump’s tweet didn’t constitute a “white supremacist message” unless you’re a Marxist advancing a Marxist argument… Just replace class with race, bourgeois with white or privileged, and proletariat with non privileged or people of color.
This was a tactic used in Venezuela, Vietnam, and in other places, villainize a group to desensitize others to victimize the villainized group. Preserving our heritage is a counter argument to fundamentally changing our society to one of equity, inclusion, etc., aka socialism/communism.
However, embedding symbols, allegories, metaphors, etc., in artwork, film (photo or motion), literature, etc., has been a constant throughout the generations. I’ve used these in some of the oil paintings that I’ve done, as well as in my writing.
I’ve attached an image below to illustrate what I mean when talking about including symbols etc. in film, the same concept applies to literature, art, etc. (Falling Down)
Take the symbolism in the above image and compare it to statements made by some among the left, about doing away with Trump in the worst way, and you get a trend… Both with symbolism as well as commentary, e.g., someone saying that she wanted to blow the White House up, someone else holding up a severed head resembling Trump’s head, or a theater troop running a play where Trump, or a proxy, gets assassinated.
Thus, not even “gematria” comes close to describing the above.
In English Gematria, ‘thebesig’ is equal to 450. So is ‘moron’. Symbolic proof? Or looking for connections when there aren’t any.
Your example is as retarded as saying that LC stands for Loves Cock.
What part of “Thus, not even ‘gematria’ comes close to describing the above” did you not understand?
We call that a strawman argument. Let me simplify this for you.
X = symbolism in imagery used to communicate deeper/alternative meanings
Y = Symbolism in imagery is akin to number equivalent to words
Thebesig “equal” to moron because both are “450,” therefore the symbolism representing Trump and assassination “is wrong” (Y is wrong, therefore X is wrong).
The fact remains that the symbols shown in the image above are not isolated, but are a part of an ongoing theme by some on the left of wishing Trump dead. Things like that need to be taken seriously.
Symbols used in images have been a constant throughout our history. Your example involving Trump’s tweet is a recent nonsense concept by Marxist/socialist. Your gematria example is a strawman and is not relevant to what is going on with the above image.
And yet, “Trump” and “Epstein” are equal in English Gematria too! Conspiracy!
So are ‘strawman’ and ‘unlikely‘….
LC: And yet, “Trump” and “Epstein” are equal in English Gematria too! Conspiracy! So are ‘strawman’ and ‘unlikely’…. [REPEAT POINT]
Gematria has nothing to do with the symbolisms shown in the above image. The gematria argument is like arguing that an increase in the number of churches results in an increase of the number of bars, or vice versa. No relation to what the article above talks about.
You continue to fail to explain away the symbols, metaphors, etc. shown in the above image and its continuation of an ongoing trend consistent with calls by others for the same result, e.g., theater style plays where a Donald Trump proxy gets assassinated, someone holding a severed head resembling Donald Trump, journalists joking about Trump assassination, etc.
LC,
It doesn’t take much to expose him for what he is.
For the lack of phonies exposed by VG lately,
filling in the vacuum with anything by thebesig
has been a big mistake.
Huge.
As SFC D posted last night… Popcorn!
Fully concur. I have nothing but respect for the job Ed and others are doing, but I personally feel that thebesig’s posts are akin to the Wall Street Journal running a Buzzfeed-like article on 47 things you can do with toothpaste to spice up your sex life.
It’s content, yes, but it diminishes the main brand.
LC: Fully concur.
That makes both of you wrong.
LC: I have nothing but respect for the job Ed and others are doing, but I personally feel that thebesig’s posts are akin to the Wall Street Journal running a Buzzfeed-like article on 47 things you can do with toothpaste to spice up your sex life.
What you feel is driven mainly by emotions and feeling and not by fact. What you dismiss as “posts being akin to Buzzfeed like article on useless things” are simply topics that you disagree with. You have consistently failed to prove your point with a valid argument when it comes to our arguments.
PSYOP is one of my MOSs in the Army. I could tell, from a professional standpoint, that your arguments are akin to foreign propaganda. You are just like those Russian and Chinese nationals I’ve argued against on YouTube, Twitter, and elsewhere. No fact, but where you lack fact you more than make up with pure nonsense.
You also argue like those flat earthers that I’ve argued against on Gab. You and the others take issue with the fact that I’ll push back and refuse to back down.
LC: It’s content, yes, but it diminishes the main brand.
The vast majority of the blog articles I have been posting recently have fallen under the military/veteran topic categories. Absent stolen valor posts, those come closest to the current content of this website. However, I have seen the original post lineup that started this website. Jonn made numerous political posts that you would’ve taken issue with… Commentary that was mainly political, conservative politics, arguments that you would surely have dismissed as being “Buzzfeed like” simply because you disagree with the argument.
Here is an example of what Jonn posted back in 2006:
https://valorguardians.com/blog/?p=23
MarineDad61: LC, It doesn’t take much to expose him for what he is.
Except, neither you nor anybody else has done anything remotely close to “exposing” me. You conveniently overlook the fact that I’m responding to those who respond to me… A pattern that both you and LC should’ve anticipated would happen before you guys even responded to me here.
MarineDad61: For the lack of phonies exposed by VG lately, filling in the vacuum with anything by thebesig has been a big mistake. Huge.
In the 20 years I’ve argued against people like you online, the only people that have complained, or made negative mention, about my participation and contribution to a site were those whose arguments I have consistently destroyed.
Folks, who are used to pushing others around, don’t know how to act when they get pushback like what you’ve gotten from me. A common knee jerk reaction by these people was to call for me removal, banning, etc.
MarineDad61: As SFC D posted last night…
You and I have engaged in enough arguments for you to know what would happen when you post your first response to me starting an argument between us.
MarineDad61: Popcorn!
Better have plenty of it, I have every intention of responding to you this way until I am an ancient old man on his deathbed.
Thank you for pointing out how absurd this is. Thinking critically seems to have fallen by the wayside.
Agreeing with me gets you downvotes, but if by chance you’re new, consider sticking around – despite the increase in idiocy like this, there are lots of great people here.
Agreed. Even with the differences of whatever, many here I consider familia.
I appreciate your brand of civility and logic.
Updoot!
BertenErnie:
LC is 100% correct.
There ARE lots of great folks on TAH.
TAH would be a bit boring if we all agree 100% on a topic.
We used to NOT have the “Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down” vote. Does it have value? We guess it depends if one looks at a glass either half empty…or half full…😉
Hope you stick around and continue sharing your perspective on topics.
Thank You, LC, for being positive…and STILL sticking to your beliefs and thoughts…👌👌👍👍👏🙌 Makes a big difference. Roh-Dog nailed it as well.
I was in the Navy’s Great Lakes Boot Camp when Pres Kennedy was shot and “Rope Yarn Sunday” was the day off.
Or just could be ghetto rich.
Yes, yes he did.
People are gonna see what message they wanna see. Charles Manson thought the Beatles were sending him messages. Son of Sam was directed by the neighbor’s dog.
As I have stated here several times they can’t afford to let him serve again. If they fail to imprison him and he gets elected or looks like he will be elected he will be dead before he takes office. They are literally crazy.
I fear you might be right.
They are not going to let him serve again.
But my greatest fear is that the worst happens, and the conservative majority in this country does absolutely nothing about it because we all “have bills to pay and families to raise”.
There are no fucking balls left in this country.
The Founding Fathers would be ashamed.
The J6 prosecutions are trying to set the example. If you try to do anything about it, even a protest, they will lock you up and throw away the key.
Anyone charged in DC who thinks he can get a fair trial is deluded.
Major Moonbat aka Commissar shows us nearly every time he posts just how off-the-wall batshit crazy level that many lefties are brainwashed to, thus many will go that crazy given the opportunity.
DJT is not the ultimate target…he is just in the way of the ultimate target which is…We, The People.
Prepare
This type of post takes away the credibility of this site with fringe conspiracy and punditry. I’m sure the thumbs down brigade will coordinate and converge. Lay it on me.
BertenErnie,
I gave a green thumbs up for openers.
So everyone knows.
Hey!
Yes?
Full disclosure upfront:
-It has been months since I’ve even engaged on a thebespurg post
-Laura Loomer is a giant grifting piece of garbage
-I hate you
-To be fair, I hate everyone
The fact that The Atlantic went back to the 60s to find a ‘stock picture’ of now-worthless, then-gold-and-silver-backed paper fiat notes is suspicious as fuck. You have to understand that people that do relatively nothing for a living (politicians, journos, artists, bankers, Soroses, etcetcetc) have time to be just this esoteric.
Am I saying this is a threat?
Don’t know. Really don’t care.
It is interesting, but there are some truths hidden in plain sight. Let us walk?:
The aforementioned Anderson? That’d be the signatory of the only visible bill front. (link)
Worked for Ike, blew LBJ like a champ. Odd, eh?
Life is really a dirty game, played by the so-called elite, where we are the chips, pawns and chew toys.
Stop taking it so fucking serious and learn to hate these people.
Oh, and GFY.
Just doesn’t seem like something I’m gonna get worked up over. I award you zero thumbs, and may God gave mercy on your soul.
Just started posting today, January 23, 2024, then…
Accusing this site of lacking critical thinking skills…
Being hostile to topics perceived as “conservative conspiracies”…
Describing the post as “taking away from the site’s credibility”…
Immediately, despite this being the first day posting, predicts that he/she would receive massive down-votes…
You remind me of someone else that does the above, but that someone else has been posting here for years.
Hmmmmmmm…
thebesig,
“perceived as” ?
GMAFB.
In American English… Give me a fucking break.
You are a spreader.
And you use this website to do it.
MarineDad61: thebesig, “perceived as” ?
People who are stupid enough to argue with me reveal their apparent psychological profiles to me. Changing names or IP does not change that profile.
MarineDad61: GMAFB. In American English… Give me a fucking break.
Are you that dense that you don’t see that this is the message others on this site are trying to send you? Do as you preach.
MarineDad61: You are a spreader. And you use this website to do it.
Wrong. I don’t talk about things unless two things are simultaneously met:
1. I have extensive knowledge on the topic that I’m presenting based on experience and/or exhaustive reading/study/research…
2. Those who would argue with me have little to no command of the topic being addressed…
Both of these conditions have been met here, just as they’ve been met in the 20 years that I’ve been arguing online.
The above post is not an isolated event, but a part of a wider argument presented by some on the left. That is not the first time that someone presented an image, or statement, wishing for Trump to be gone that way.
If anything, the fact that we could look at images like that, and see the obvious symbolism in them, proves the insinuation wrong that we are “uneducated”.
If anybody is spreading male bovine manure, it’s you. Your conduct is such that I find it hard to have animosity against the phonies that you expose.
BertenErnie, you sound like a liberal minion brainwashed at UC Berzerkely!
Thank you for your input. I will do my best in the future to ensure all posts here meet your credibility expectations.
Credibility, like deterrence, can’t be had directly but only as a byproduct; therefore, anyone who whines about it usually don’t have any either.
Transational-progressive wienies:
Popcorn! Get yer popcorn, hot and fresh!
SFC D,

Just scroll up.
thebesig reveals himself.
Again.
I have no dog in this fight. I’m merely an observer.
MarineDad61: SFC D, New morning comments. Just scroll up. thebesig reveals himself.
Again.
That is not correct. All I have done is what I have consistently done throughout the time you posted here. You spew your nonsense against me, and I turn around and provide you with a counter rebuttal. That is the only thing that any reasonable person can conclude between our interactions. Folks like you are one of the reasons why I came up with the “repeatedly touching the red stove burner” metaphor.
You’re like that person that touches the red stove burner, gets burned, gets mad at the red stove burner as a result, then you touch the red stove burner just to get burned again, then complain about being burned while ignoring the fact that you keep touching it.
While Soros is mentally challenged, I can’t help but think he managed to channel him some Hank Williams Jr., and “Country Boy Can Survive”.
While the soyboy is strong in him, he’s wily like a rat.
The photographer was George Marks, the photograph was taken in January 1950 per Getty Images -> bb000789.jpg .
If you would like to see more of his photographs you can go here (he was pretty good) -> https://www.fineartstorehouse.com/photographers/george-marks-photography/ .
This post is more trivial than the “Bullseye” post inciting Giffords shooting, remember that?
There are PLENTY of examples of people posting death threats against President Trump on social media, we don’t need to artificially create them.
Aw fuck, I’m going in:
“1950”?
You are wrong.
““Bullseye” post inciting Giffords shooting, remember that?”
No, because that didn’t happen, IDGAF what Olberwomann or Stewart say. The rhetoric has been way worse in this country and we should allow it, if we are to maintain the republic. There is no indication that the shooting was politically motivated. None.
That last part:
Sure, people may have threatened DJT, but were they prosecuted with the same fervor as threats to BHO? Doubt, I has it. Also a “threat” from The Atlantic or Soroses is not the same as a threat from Uncle Jimbob from Appalachian Junction, IF this is even a threat.
Try harder.
What’s wrong with the 1950 bit?
Here’s the actual Getty Images link, and it says it was created January 1st, 1950:
https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/hand-holding-out-money-news-photo/72392324
Granted, that’s more likely the date it was made available for use, not the date of the photo itself, but still.
It’s wrong, that’s what is wrong. “It” is wrong. Clearly that is a filler date and/or someone is retarded.
It is easily verifiable, I did the work already.
Fair enough, that does make sense. I did check a few other photos and there’s a lot of Jan 1 dates, but years differed, so it didn’t seem completely like a filler… but yeah, Anderson wasn’t signing those back in 1950 for sure.
When I look at your link I see circa 1950s…assuming that means as late as 58 or 59…
In any event the photo has been in use for some time…at least 50 years….so the likelihood it was staged for a modern threat is most likely zero point zero.
The interesting part of these images is that George Marks is a pseudonym…one wonders based on a few of the images if in fact it was (George) Harrison Marks who started out photographing cats but became a pornographer at some point in the 60s and 70s until his death in 1997….as most of these photographs were taken in the 50s it’s entirely possible they are one and the same…which is an interesting theory in and of itself.
This George Marks died in 1985 per -> https://modiv.design/stock-in-america/
Unlike the pornography guy who died in 1997.
The Life article was mentioned was titled “Speaking of Pictures: Legs Are Hard to Photograph” from 12/16/1940.
Thanks for the follow-up, excellent article!
My point about the “Bullseye” ad was that everyone but the people pushing the story knew it was bullshit and had nothing to do with Gifford being targeted, same with this twitter post.
No one could possibly believe Soros was calling for President Trump’s assassination, anymore than someone would think Palin was calling for Gifford’s assassination.
I admit to not doing any further checking that using getty images, but you are indeed correct that the image must have been taken sometime post 1957. I was wrong about the date (and so was gettyimages).
Tim: The photographer was George Marks, the photograph was taken in January 1950 per Getty Images -> bb000789.jpg . When these shots were taken does not change the fact that a message is being communicated with them. Specific features in the image have symbols applicable to getting the current message across. For example, a statement printed on money that has since been discontinued in newer bills, 1963 in the above example. This marked the final year, but that was not the only year that was used. So, in this example, if the money shown above was printed in 1961, or in 1958, it does not detract from the message being conveyed… something that was discontinued in 1963, with 1963 being the symbol. I’ve done the same thing, repurposed an image depicting an ancient scene to convey a modern message… Using the characters and objects intended for a meaning relevant to the ancient times and used them to represent meanings relevant as of the time I used the meme. Tim: This post is more trivial than the “Bullseye” post inciting Giffords shooting, remember that? [STRAWMAN] There’s no comparison. When this comes together with other portrayals, or communications, communicating the same message, using a lot more effort at symbolism than normal, then this has to be seen as part of a bigger argument. In this situation, a preexisting image that already contains the symbols needed to communicate a current message. Tim: There are PLENTY of examples of people posting death threats against President Trump on social media, we don’t need to artificially create them. Except, this isn’t an artificial creation. Your examples add to the undercurrent of sentiment by those who want him to be taken out of the equation. People have reported this to the Secret Service and to the FBI. Would you tell these organizations to not even interview either Soros or The Atlantic to get context as they do with other similar situations? YES [ ] NO [ ] Copy and paste this statement and question, along with the yes/no options to your reply. Place an “X” in the… Read more »
Apophenia (noun) – the tendency to perceive a connection or meaningful pattern between unrelated or random things.
“Artist death” is a concept I believe in, but no rational person would link the images from the article to a call to action for assassinating President Trump.
The images in the Atlantic article are seen as a call to action only by those who would use it to demonize their opponents, in the same way Palin’s post was seen by her opponents as a way to demonize her.
People have reported this to the Secret Service and to the FBI… YES [ ] NO [ x]
Investigating this is a waste of time and resources.
The images make sense in the context of the article, which was about crime and inflation/economic growth. I’m not going to speak at all about the accuracy of the article.
Tim: Apophenia (noun) – the tendency to perceive a connection or meaningful pattern between unrelated or random things. [STRAWMAN] Except, that is not what I am doing. I don’t argue a point, or point something out, unless an overwhelming trend in the facts provides a pattern that I could make projections from. For example, take the above image, and compare it to what had been reported before, such as a theater troupe carrying out a play where someone representing Donald Trump is assassinated, where a woman holds up a replica of a decapitated Donald Trump head, or journalists talking about a Donald Trump assassination. One of my MOSs in the Army is Psychological Operations Specialist, or PSYOP. One of the things that PSYOP does is to analyze the psychographics of a group of people, target audience in our case, but also applicable to the group of people I’ve been debating against for two decades. A common commentary, among those on the left that I’ve argued against, within their groups, was the wish that something bad, like an assassination, would happen to him. So, even before my PSYOP senses start tingling, I see a pattern emerge regarding this topic. In the research world, the amount of facts pointing to this theme falls under “data saturation,” the opinion that what I’m engaging in is “apophenia” is nothing but pure nonsense. Tim: “Artist death” is a concept I believe in, This is meaningless given the fact that symbols, themes, allegories, etc., have been recycled from one work of art to another, one work of literature to another, one work of music to another, etc. This is traceable in western literature all the way to literature such as what one would find in Biblical scripture… And their use could be followed all the way to modern film, art, literature, etc. Many of the symbols, themes, allegories, etc., that surface in movies were concepts borrowed from previous literature. An example is from one of the Matrix movies, where Neo is walking in the rain, over a film of water forming on the road. You could… Read more »
We are arguing over art, on the internet. Not even original art, but stock images attached to an article.
I see images depicting violence and money over an article about violence and inflation.
You see images that are ‘sinister’ or ‘bad judgement’, potentially calling for President Trump to be assassinated.
I wonder if the form elements are important to the message from your perspective? If the images were reversed, or vertical, or staggered horizontally and vertically, would that matter?
Art is in the eye of the beholder, and there is nothing you could post short of anyone involved in this claiming that the intent was to have someone shot.
In the end I suppose all that matters is I allowed someone who believes stock images arranged just so, attached to an article about violence and inflation, are a call to assassinate someone, to live rent-free in my mind for a day.
Tim: We are arguing over art, on the internet. Not even original art, but stock images attached to an article. It doesn’t mater if it is art in the traditional sense, or images from the internet. Basic concepts related to traditional art apply in digital art or other forms of art. Tim: I see images depicting violence and money over an article about violence and inflation. What you see is the basic surface meanings of both the artwork (images) and the literature (the article). There is more than what is immediately obvious, the deeper meanings which also relates to what is being communicated. Tim: You see images that are ‘sinister’ or ‘bad judgement’, potentially calling for President Trump to be assassinated. I see a continuing trend, as I mentioned above, e.g., the troupe engaging in a play that involves someone resembling Trump getting assassinated, a woman holding a replica of Trump’s decapitated head, and reporters talking about Trump’s assassination. These are just three of many examples I’ve seen, coming from the left advocating or wishing that something like that happened to Trump. Tim: I wonder if the form elements are important to the message from your perspective? If the images were reversed, or vertical, or staggered horizontally and vertically, would that matter? That depends on the person doing that artwork. Oil painting is one of my hobbies. Everything that I put into a painting or similar artwork, every subject, their position in the painting, their orientation, etc., has a meaning. A simple thing as viewer orientation, angles, etc., all have meaning that contribute to the overall message being conveyed in the art. I could also repurpose other artwork to communicate something else that I want to communicate if I use them with my writings, another job that imbeds symbolisms, metaphors, allegories, etc. I provided an example involving Scripture based artwork above. Tim: Art is in the eye of the beholder, and there is nothing you could post short of anyone involved in this claiming that the intent was to have someone shot. That does not change the reality that there… Read more »
Hey Skippy! You got any of those copper-foil hats left?
Foildora?
dem rhetoric has already been responsible for attacks on repub members of congress at a ball game. Why would anyone think that they wouldn’t target the one person they fear the most? Don’tcha think killary might have an idea or two?
Please don’t fall into the illiberals’ trap of drawing causation of rhetoric to violence.
Do you want to lose the RESPONSIBILITY of threatening your ‘representative’?
Imagine a life without memes….
What caused them? How about you and your piece of shit father, the obamas (lower case on purpose), and every global elite all learn how to hold targets.
