Quick updates – Adams, Su, and of course Biden

| January 10, 2024

Eric Adams, the mayor of New York, has been in the news recently for objecting to the hordes of illegal border-jumping illegals peaceful immigrants shipped to New York from the great states of Texas and Arizona. Seems they are consuming NY resources in housing, care, and policing (which he obviously feels should be absorbed by Texas and Arizona instead.) Turns out the mayor also has an interesting past as an author, specifically a cautionary tome on child-rearing called “Don’t Let it Happen.”

One day at school, Adams was hanging out with a group of friends when someone showed up with a gun, according to his 2009 book, “Don’t Let It Happen.” Still a child at the time, Adams believed the weapon was a fake.

“I pointed what I thought was a toy gun at my group of friends and pulled the trigger,” the passage reads. “A round discharged, and only by the grace of God and my poor aim did the bullet miss my friends. The incident scared me so much that I dropped the gun and ran.”

But at a news conference Monday, a few days after the passage was highlighted in an article by the publication Byline, Adams said the dramatic encounter did not happen.

“I never fired a gun in school,” he said. “The co-author of the book may have misunderstood” an incident “where someone pointed what they thought was a toy gun,” he added.

Adams then said the book “never got into print because it never went through the proof-reading aspect of it.”  AP

Well,  except it not only was published then, it is still available now  Amazon link     B&N Adams book

Maybe its sales were so poor any royalties were negligible – for 14 years? Well, at least it wasn’t plagiarism.

Then we get to Julia Su. Remember her, ‘way back when? Let me remind you…Biden nominated her to be Labor Secretary back early in 2022. But even with 10 months of White House cajoling, pressuring, blackmailing (sorry, was having a flashback to the Clinton years) the job ain’t getting done.

…no Republicans on record supporting her, the Biden administration and her backers have scrambled to lock down 50 Democratic votes needed to confirm her. Wavering senators say that she had minimal experience in negotiations between workers and management, and point to perceptions that she’s anti-business.  AP Finance

So what does Biden do? He renominates her, doubling down on a losing horse.  Obviously he doesn’t remember the immortal words of William Claude Dunkenfield – “If, at first you don’t succeed, give up. No need to be a horse’s ass about it.”

And we support Israel, right? Well, sorta… when we’re not pumping money into Palestinians.

The Biden administration’s massive financial support for the scandal-ridden U.N. agency for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip was hit by a call from Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, to scrap U.S. funds for it due to its alleged benefits for the Hamas terror movement.

UNRWA is the acronym for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East. The Biden administration has pumped $1 billion of taxpayer money into UNRWA since 2021.

All refugee aid for Palestinians, not a lick of support for Hamas, right?

David Bedein, director of the Center for Near East Policy Research and an expert on UNRWA, produced a video in August titled “Askar—UNRWA: Cradle of Killers” purportedly showing Palestinian children inciting hatred against Jews and Israel at the Askar refugee camp near the West Bank city of Nablus.  Fox News

The old “we aren’t supporting the bad guys, we are just supplying relief” again.

Guess I am simple…we pay a billion dollars worth of their expenses, we free up a billion for them to buy weapons, pay bounties on dead IDF forces, etc. Or is that too basic?

Adams needs to read what is on the Statue of Liberty about welcoming the huddled masses.

Before that thing was even erected they were all kinds of limits on immigration. And that was back before they got free food, housing, health care and everything else.

Lying about stuff is a Democrat requirement.

Adams is a lying dog-faced pony soldier. His book has gone up in price over the past week, though, from a low of $5.93 on January 2nd to a high of $13.62 just three days later (according to a Microsoft Shopping price tracker that popped up). I guess that since it was reported that Adams is trying to get the book taken out of publication, people have actually started buying it. I have no idea; it doesn’t matter anyway. Like far too many politicians from all spectrums, he needs to get attention. When he co-wrote the book, the gun story was added. Was it true? Maybe, maybe not. Did it serve a purpose? Very likely…”Guns are bad ummkay, I was a kid that got hold of a gun, if they were banned, no kid would get hold of one like I did.” It’s similar to his vegan lifestyle, only he eats fish. Do any of us care? I don’t. Eat McDonald’s five times a day if you want. But catering to certain people by deceiving them is the mark of a “good” politician.

So, if Su sees the Senate support her she’ll surely serve sublimely. If not, will Su sue the People for systemic anti-Sino sentiment?

Author! Author!
BRAVO on your last sentence!
Well played!

(for something similar, and even sillier, here is a Jack Benny & Mel Blanc routine that never gets old)

Commissioner Wretched

As many times as Mr. Benny did that routine with Mel Blanc, he always had a hard time keeping a straight face. I can understand why. This NEVER gets old!

“How do you tell when politicians are lying?” When you see their mouths moving.

Three (3) very good examples of why we are $34 TRILLION in debt.

Still researching to find a country that taxes its citizens and sends money to the US. No joy on that.

Escort duty is calling, I gots to go. Play nice.

New York is now kicking people out of homeless shelters. This is in violation of their City policy. It was based upon the idea that everybody had the right to free housing. Apparently all it took for that to end was a bunch of people to take them up on it.

I’ll just stick this right here…
