Army: About those COVID discharges..

| November 19, 2023

Has anyone noticed the Uniformed Services are having difficulties reaching enlistment goals? Not so long ago a lot of people were let go for refusing the COVID vaccine mandated by the Biden Administration. It seems Big Army may want theirs to come back into the fold.

Army Scrambling to Get Back Soldiers It Kicked Out over Biden’s Military Vaccine Mandate

KRISTINA WONG

The Army now appears to be trying to bring back into service soldiers it kicked out over the Biden administration’s policy to remove servicemembers who rejected the coronavirus vaccine mandate, according to a letter from the Army several former soldiers posted online.

The letter, addressed to “Former Service Member,” states that there is new Army guidance that would correct military records of those kicked out, which would enable those who were removed and had their DD-214s marked with a certain code barring them from reentering service to be able to return.

The letter instructed former soldiers on how they could get their records corrected, then added:

Individuals who desire to apply to return to service should contact their local Army, US Army Reserve (USAR) or Army National Guard (ARNG) recruiter for more information.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Biden administration imposed a vaccine mandate on the military in August 2021, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin then issued a policy that said any servicemember who did not follow the mandate by December 2020 would be kicked out.
As a result, more than 8,000 troops were, in fact, kicked out, tens of thousands of National Guard members were sidelined and lost drill time and pay, and a number simply decided not to reenlist.
About 70% of what is being called an involuntary separation for those refusing the jab were awarded a General discharge. The remainder received an Honorable with no explanation of the reasoning behind the differing discharge types.
The military did approve religious exemptions to its Covid-19 vaccine mandate. 15 out of some 16,000 requests so there’s that.
To date 43 COVID dischargees have returned to military service.
I’m pretty sure my response to Big Army would rhyme with “Go Fuck Yourselves”.
🤣🤣
HT3
I can’t imagine any statistically significant number of servicemen/women will return to continue to serve.
Old tanker
If I had a good job that would be my response as well, other than getting the discharge status changed. That I would do.
OH, so first they were stepping and spitting on those who refused the experimental (and ineffective) jab are now crying “AWWW C’MON you guys, we didn’t mean it, c’mon back, please!” meanwhile those wronged are just saying something like “GFY sideways with broken glass!” just like the foaming-at-the-mouth purple-haired booger-munchers were screeching for those of us who didn’t want the jab to be isolated in camps now saying “Aww, can we just get along now?” while the rest of us say “FUCK NO, we’ll remember that!”.
Since the jab rolled out, how many boots from all services were let go while in camp or shortly afterwards due to medical issues?
Can they answer that for a start?
2banana
Back pay
Missed promotions
Those in charge arrested and given dishonorable discharges.
Until that…FOOK NO!
Odie
Don’t forget to add time in service. Those that were close to retirement could come in, put in time needed, and then say see ya.
Don’t forget to add reimbursement, tax free, for anybody that had to enroll in cobra or obama care, and any out of pocket costs associated with.
Fuck me? Nah, fuck you.
26Limabeans
Used to get it from both sides at once.
I recall a shot they used to give that would swell up like they put half a golf ball in your shoulder, and would take most all day to go down. I think they gave it to you before going overseas. I only remember getting it once.
Andy11M
Only shot I remember like that was that frozen tube of peanut butter. Inprocessing at 30 AG, they gave it to us and told us to hold it in our hand to warm it up. Gamma globulin? Had a huge lump I’m my buttcheek for about a day.
Odie
That’s it. I thought it was given in the shoulder, but now that you mention it, it was given in a butt check. I don’t recall them saying to hold it to warm it, as it was just 1 of what seemed like many. That’s the one that stands out most.
ANCRN
I remember that. It felt like somebody surgicaly implanted a golf ball in my butt cheek.
Andy11M
And there was one asshole who was allergic to penicillin and didn’t have to get it, so he ran around punching people in the butt cheeks
Sapper3307
Hepatitis dispensers.
KoB
43 out of 8K re-upped? Yeah, that’ll fill the ranks.
Now…wonder when the civilian side is gonna step up and re-hire all the folks that they gave a choice of “get the jab or get out”? Yeah, no, I won’t hold my breath for that to happen.
Roh-Dog
A younger me’d go back to Fort Benning… if it was the Army of 2 decades ago.
That ship done sailed.
Georgia is occupied, not controlled.
“Prepare.”
KoB
Testify! To all the above! Only thing missing from the Army of Occupation now v 1865-1877 is the bayonets aren’t affixed…yet!
Shipments from MPS, SGA, and Chewy hit the Firebase just before I left this morning.
Duane
I know of at least 2 young individuals that signed up, got into basic and got the jab, then ended up in intensive care for at least a week (in the second case was there for 3 weeks). How about releasing those numbers as well!
“I don’t believe this. You guys throw me to the wolves, and now you want me to go back out there? Forget it. It’s not my problem.”
As DX would say, “Suck It!”…
The current Potatus and his still-serving SecDef made their bed. Lie in it.
In other news, they are truly desperate. I found out earlier today that my oldest daughter applied for a civilian job on Fort Lee. She never got a call back for that, but sure enough, an Army Recruiter called her asking about her enlisting. “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”? She has no interest in serving, may not even be qualified, and having served as a Recruiter myself, I know that mid-20-somethings’ contact info is only obtainable through prospecting (including the little cards you fill out to get your “free” dog tag or the waiver to climb the rock wall), or if they’re college students.
So, unless the job opening passed along her personal number to a Recruiter, how did USAREC get it? I’m not sure if it was for a DA Civilian job or a local contractor, but no Green Suiter should have had access to it. Barring, of course, absolute desperation on the part of the Army and its failed leadership.
I will just say, that I never saw 19 years old with heart problems in the military until the covid vaccine. Four of them in my battalion alone. What are the odds?
Cptsmith
My last AT before I got out of the USAR had 2 miscarriages. In over 30 years before that I had never heard of one. They were healthy, cleared by their doctors and vaccinated. The following year you could only attend AT if you were vaccinated. They all went home in less than a week because too many people got covid. Good thing they had the shot.
Graybeard
Airborne Son one of those shoved out.
He still is pissed.
I’m more pissed.
A lot of peeps I figure are gonna wait for the Nov ’24 elections. This administration is making Jimmuh Carter look pretty good. RIP to the former First Lady, Rosalynn Carter, dead at 96.
David
NOTHING makes Carter look good. He may have been surpassed by some of his recent successors, but having spent his entire administration in, I will not let him appear vindicated. Good man, TERRIBLE President.
MustangCPT
I would argue that he’s not a good man, either. His moral equivalence in the Middle East regarding the Israel/Palestinian conflict shows him to be a moralizing fraud. I don’t give a fuck about how much he did for “Habitat for Humanity”, he’s a fucking turd.
USMCMSgt (Ret)
First, Big Army ought to correct all the discharges they handed out and expunge all records that show “General” discharge, then let people make up their minds.
As others have suggested, they should be offered to have their date of rank reinstated (retain lineal number, where applicable), offer back-pay, credit earned leave, and a thousand dollars a day for each day the servicemember was separated, then MAYBE.
OAM
So, all those who have a discharge that reads anything other than Honorable, can they get that corrected without re-enlisting?
Waiting for this to be…walked back? reworked? reworded, to deny discharge upgrades for those who don’t reenlist in in 3…2…
“They weren’t kicked out, they chose to separate rather than obey orders…”
Roh-Dog
Sounds like a great idea!
Piss off a bunch of trained killers by stealing back promises on health care, education, and title.
Maybe the DeeOhDuh can talk each one of these separated SM’s spouse into taking the kids to grandma’s and clearing out the bank accounts, for social credit points obviously.
President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande
Soooo……Big Military kicked a bunch of highly qualified people out of the service because they chose NOT to get the experimental, not-a-vaxx, drug injection.
And now that Big Military has shit the bed with their social progressive, anti-male, anti-white, anti-Christian, positive pronouns, everybody-gets-an-award, LGBT(etc), multi-culti, DIE, rainbow haired, Dildo Brigade experiments; and retention and recruitment are in the shitter; and you need MOOORE people to fill the ranks to fight your multi-front (except the US southern border) wars; NOW you want to say “WE’RE SORRY, WE WON’T DO IT AGAIN” (uh-huh, riiiiiight), and beg us to come back for more abuse?
Sounds like an abusive relationship to me.
And hopefully the people who were kicked out; and those smart enough to not enlist in the fist place; hopefully they won’t be enablers of this abusive relationship.
I know I won’t be recommending anyone to enter the military.
Roh-Dog
So… you took a giant dump on rational medical processes and knee-jerked into an immoral swamp from which you did a celebratory backstroke, and selfish “downstairs stoke”, culling anyone who dared question your “science” and “greater good”-cum-virtueless actions?
And now you beg to be held accountable not?
For… forgiveness?
For your betters to look past the indiscretions and come back to your fetid teat?
There is a motto anyone in ‘higher’ ‘headquarters’ should be familiar: Deeds, not words.
You acted, MANY paid attention.
Now stew, fuckers.
Blaster
Wouldn’t it be awesome if the Army was run by adults? Instead, we have boot-liking politicians in uniform.
