Sometimes these are just too easy
AW1Ed passed on a link a story – have to congratulate the writer for keeping a relatively straight face. More than I could have done.
U.S. officials with dementia may pose a national security threat, according to a study funded by the Pentagon.
Factors including longer life expectancy and more people working later in life are significant drivers of increased dementia in the U.S. workforce, the study published by RAND Corporation’s National Security Research Division says.
Duh… more older folks working longer pretty much means more folks with some form of dementia in the workplace – including workplaces where serious decisions are made. Not necessarily the military, which has its own age limits to preclude such a thing. But, ah, on the civilian side:
“The risk that an individual becomes a national security threat because of dementia symptoms depends on many factors, such as the nature of the classified information they hold, for how long the unauthorized disclosure of that information could cause damage (including serious or exceptionally grave damage), and whether the individual is targeted by an adversary to obtain that information,” it reads.
I can just see the aged CIA black ops guy pounding his fist on the desk, demanding we attack the USSR. But…. the politicians!
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., who is 81, recently experienced two freezing incidents which some believed to be a stroke or seizure.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence turned 90 in June and recently ceded power of attorney to her daughter. She had previously been prompted to “just say aye” during a Senate hearing. Feinstein says she will not seek reelection.
Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, announced he would not seek reelection in 2024, ending his career at 76. Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, 83, recently announced she would seek reelection to Congress, something Green Bay Packers player David Bakhtiari called “actually crazy.”
Don’t normally heed many athletes’ politics, but in this one case he, if anything, understates it.
I would throw a couple of other notable names onto the list, like, say, the two top Presidential front-runners? Hillary? Can’t really tell if all the lies are related to senescence, or whether it’s just their natural proclivity to prevaricate. If we are kind we would go with age and impairment, instead of using LSOS like I would for younger folks like Santos, Boebert, AOC, the Squad….
Category: 2024 Election, Biden, Trump!
I want to vigorously dispute the claim about older Americans having dementia. It goes without saying that… uh… hmmm… I forgot what I was going to say. But, the point is that… well, you know, the thing.
Before I eat applesauce I recite the following:
“This is my bib. There are many like it but this one is mine…”
Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is NOT a LSOS.
🤔
Some politicians have dementia and most do not.
It’s the one without dementia I worry about because they are destroying the country on purpose.
It was never the intention of the Founders that we should have career politicians enriching themselves, creating Political Family Dynasties, or turning the Citizens of our Republic into subjects. The despotic tyrants will never willingly limit their terms of office or relinquish their ever tightening grip of power. Anyone who thinks that we will “vote” our way out of this mess just flat has not been paying attention.
Prepare
Well, this is interesting…🤔

” The authors also explore how the national security and intelligence communities are especially at risk because they employ large numbers of military veterans, who, as a population, may have a higher risk of developing dementia because of high rates of traumatic brain injury.”
Oooh, those dangerous “ticking-timebomb” veterans– they need to be watched, like antiwar liberals who never went say! /sarc
Don’t worry, the NSA and the other deep state “security” orgs have that under control.
😉😎
Or around the bend of dementia.
I’m more concerned with the PFC with a TS, a $10k car note at 24% interest on a 87 IROC with a bluebook value of $2k, a liberal stripper girlfriend and a baby on the way that probably won’t look like him. Now THAT is a security risk.
Older Americans with their vast life experiences can offer a lot of input and wisdom Even if they’re mental faculties are not all there.
Unless of course they’re all imaginary because they have dementia like Biden who makes everything up. Who probably doesn’t even know the difference between fact and fiction at this point.
Regarding the private sector: how often do the young’uns think we older workers are deluded when we are deja-vu’ing BOHICA?
True, but one day they will realize the old man or lady wasn’t as crazy as they thought after all.
“Damn kids, get offa my lawn!” included.
The local Sheriff had a recruiting booth at a recent dog and pony. I told the recruiter yard and garden related crime would go way down if he recruited us ol’ guys. He thanked me for the suggestion, but (there’s always a but); he said we’d still have to make it through the obstacle course at the academy. If I could make it over the wall I was in. I said why go over it when it can be knocked over; I didn’t get in.
As the saying goes, everything is everything but nothing is where it’s at.
Forgot to add in, Any bird can build a nest but not everyone can lay an egg.
There is someone out there who will go into hysterics and call you a vile “speciesphobe” because they identify as a female bluebird.
No mention of Braindead iden?
