Military base at center of drag contraversy hosted pride reading event for kids
A U.S. Air Force base, Ramstein Air Base in Germany, was the subject of a pending drag event that ultimately had to be cancelled. However, this did not stop the base from carrying a pride related event in the name of inclusion. Volunteers read books to children in a room that contained rainbow themed decour. Many have pointed to events like this as a contributing factor to the recruiting challenges. However, Christine Wormuth claimed that the military was not “woke,” and that those who argued that it is woke contribute to this crises.

The event comes a year after the same base found itself at the center of controversy over its planned “Drag Queen Storytime” event that was slated to take place last May but was canceled after receiving backlash from service members and parents, according to Military.com
“We’re celebrating Pride Month at the Ramstein Library with Drag Queen Storytime,” read a promotion for the event on the base Facebook page that was later deleted. “Be sure to wear your brightest and most colorful outfits!”
Another drag show event slated to take place at a Ramstein Air Base bar earlier this month was also canceled amid new guidance from the Defense Department that prohibited drag shows on military bases, according to a Military.com report.
The directive to ban the drag shows on military installations this month came from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in response to multiple lawmakers voicing concerns over a number of shows that were planned on bases both inside and outside the continental United States.
The apparent spread of such events was at the center of questioning Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley faced from Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., during a March House Armed Services Committee hearing, with the two military leaders appearing surprised such shows were happening.

His grandmother ignores him initially, but by the end of the story she takes him to a “parade” reminiscent of a pride parade where everyone is dressed as a mermaid.”
“Others, such as “Jacob’s Room To Choose” and “I’m Not A Girl,” feature young main characters who adopt different “gender expressions” and persuade their schools and teachers to accept the idea of gender nonconformity, according to descriptions linked by the library.”
“The Ramstein library links to the Department of Defense’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation library hosted on a third party platform for a description of “It Feels Good To Be Yourself.”
“Some people are boys. Some people are girls. Some people are both, neither, or somewhere in between,” the description reads. “This sweet, straightforward exploration of gender identity will give children a fuller understanding of themselves and others.”
“A pride event for toddlers is completely inappropriate in any venue,” Republican Indiana Rep. Jim Banks, who sits on the House Armed Services Committee, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “To hold one at a U.S. military base is a partisan abuse of taxpayer dollars and a slap in the face to military families.”

I recall a time in my ute as an Air Force brat at March AFB, when the tower had PRIDE spelled out on it, and the term was on everything. At that time, it stood for Professional Results In Daily Efforts. Not so much anymore.

How does Drag shows (I was always led to believe that most drag queens were straight) and LGBT rights go together? Not so much a question as a statement here: if fighting for LGBT rights and drag shows for kids tend to bring so much bad press, is it helping the cause? maybe time to rethink the strategy?!?! 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Next, if they have their opinion on the subject, and mine is the opposite, why do I have to be the one that’s wrong for not agreeing with them? How come they’re not the ones that are wrong for not agreeing with me? Why do I have to change my feelings and beliefs to placate or pacify them?
Leads to my final statement- since So many people don’t agree with their thoughts/opinions, they are going to try to outflank us by recruiting our kids, to force us into submission.
