George Santos taken into federal custody, to appear before federal judge
George Santos has been mentioned several times here. The federal indictment against Santos has been unsealed ahead of his appearance in a federal court. Santos has been indicted on 13 counts including wire fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds, as well as false statements made to the House of Representatives. As of this posting, George Santos is at the federal courthouse.

A 13-count indictment was made public Wednesday in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York charging the congressman with seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives.
The indictment was returned Tuesday under seal by a federal grand jury sitting in Central Islip, New York. Santos was arrested Wednesday morning and will be arraigned in the afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Arlene R. Lindsay at the federal courthouse in Central Islip, New York. He currently is being held at that federal courthouse.
“This indictment seeks to hold Santos accountable for various alleged fraudulent schemes and brazen misrepresentations,” U.S. Attorney Breon Peace said in a statement. “Taken together, the allegations in the indictment charge Santos with relying on repeated dishonesty and deception to ascend to the halls of Congress and enrich himself. He used political contributions to line his pockets, unlawfully applied for unemployment benefits that should have gone to New Yorkers who had lost their jobs due to the pandemic, and lied to the House of Representatives. My Office and our law enforcement partners will continue to aggressively root out corruption and self-dealing from our community’s public institutions and hold public officials accountable to the constituents who elected them.”
Santos, who also goes by Anthony Devolder, unsuccessfully ran in 2020 to represent New York’s Third Congressional District but was victorious his second time around in 2022. He was sworn in on Jan. 7, 2023, a mere days after the New York Times exposed that Santos allegedly fabricated larges swathes of his resume, including that he had worked for two major Wall Street firms, graduated from Baruch College and had descended from a Holocaust survivor. The Times reported Santos was also facing pending fraud charges in his native Brazil.
In January, the local Nassau County GOP demanded Santos resign, namely taking issue with the freshman congressman lying over his Jewish ancestry, but he refused. And House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, hanging onto a narrow Republican majority, said Santos would be removed if a House Ethics probe revealed he violated campaign finance laws.

Well, remember, Jesse Sr. REALLY didn’t care for Obama and even made a hot-mic comment about cutting Obama’s nuts off in the run up to the 2008 primary. So it was probably more payback than anything else. Plus, I believe Jesse Jr. was also involved in the shenanigans regarding Obama’s Senate seat although he wasn’t indicted in that scandal. In Jackson Jr. corruption case, it wasn’t so much a matter of doing the right thing, but more a case of removing protection to teach someone a lesson. Notice how you haven’t heard much from Jesse Sr. recently?

Simply disgusting. I was involved in a murder case several years ago where a criminal scammer stabbed his roommate in the back 13 times while they were engaged in gay sex, so he could rob him. He was sentenced to eight years in a plea to voluntary manslaughter. When I talked to him in prison about interviewing him for the civil case that arose out of the murder (against the apartment complex for inadequate security), the killer tried to extort me for a bribe to give favorable testimony. When I told him that wasn’t going to happen, he told me he would be out before my case could get to trial, and he would testify for his victim’s mother (the plaintiff). In many jurisdictions, our judicial system is a cruel joke.
All the judges in Texas are elected by the voters. Which explains a lot.

The plan is to get him a prison term right after he secures the Republican nomination but a few weeks before the election, that way the Republicans won’t have a chance. Unless Trump succeeds in moving it to a Federal Court in a less left wing area than New York State, say like North Korea. If that happens then drag it on till the election, with the media publishing “fact checked facts” from “unnamed sources” that “prove” that Trump burned down a convent full of nuns, every day on the front page. The FBI will need to open another investigation into “something” as well. After that it shouldn’t matter.
