Anthony Fauci announced that he was stepping down from his current position by December. He said it was not a retirement, as he plans to continue working in areas related to his passion in his field. Joe Biden described him as a dedicated public servant with wisdom developed from decades of being at the forefront of public health related events that were dangerous and challenging.

From US News:

“While I am moving on from my current positions, I am not retiring,” Fauci said in a statement on Monday. “After more than 50 years of government service, I plan to pursue the next phase of my career while I still have so much energy and passion for my field.”

President Joe Biden said during his time as vice president he came to know Fauci as a “dedicated public servant, and a steady hand with wisdom and insight honed over decades at the forefront of some of our most dangerous and challenging public health crises.”

“When it came time to build a team to lead our COVID-19 response — in fact, in one of my first calls as President-elect — I immediately asked Dr. Fauci to extend his service as my Chief Medical Advisor to deal with the COVID-19 crisis our nation faced. In that role, I’ve been able to call him at any hour of the day for his advice as we’ve tackled this once-in-a-generation pandemic,” Biden said in a statement on Fauci’s departure. “His commitment to the work is unwavering, and he does it with an unparalleled spirit, energy and scientific integrity.”

Fauci’s announcement comes after he previously said that he would leave his posts by the end of President Joe Biden’s term after serving under seven presidents. He serves as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, chief of the NIAID laboratory of immunoregulation and chief medical adviser to Biden.

Right after the midterms. What a coincidence.

Fyrfighter

How is it that none of 7 presidents could realize what a harmful, self absorbed little troll this ass is??

He should have been gone long ago!

SFC D

Nothing any President could do. He’s a federal employee. Not a cabinet member, not a presidential appointment, he’s an SES employee with roots all the way to the bottom of the swamp. He’s essentially untouchable. No federal employee should ever be allowed that much authority ever again.

26Limabeans

He’s a fucking draft dodger.
But then again, imagine the harm he would have done as a Medic in Viet of the Nam. I’m torn…

David

Technically not. NOAA and PHS Commissioned Corps are considered uniform services along with CG, Space, and the traditional 4. Fauci ‘served’ in PHS CC 1969-1996. OK, it’s like Admiral Rachel Levine but 27 years nonetheless.

Claw

And according to the WIKI-Foo, he retired from the PHS Commissioned Corps as a Rear Admiral (Two Star), so he’ll always have that retired pay to fall back on after he gives up the 40K a month base pay job he’s currently holding. /s

akpual

That’s Richard DL levine.

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

“untouchable”?
With the right “equipment”, not at 500 yards.

I wouldn’t go that far but stepping on a punji stick and
being unable to cure the infection would be fitting.

Fyrfighter

stick his head in a box full of starving sand fleas.. he thought it was good enough for beagle puppies, it should be good enough for him..

Thunderstixx

I said all along that the entire manner we dealt with for the chicom flu was wrong.
I was right along with future POTUS and one of my personal heroes,
Ron De Santis.

SKYJUMPER

Thanks for your fine service to this great country, Tony. Now do you think when you step down it could be from the Sears Tower? (grin)

Roh-Dog

Or into a wood chipper?

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

I was thinking more along the lines of stepping down from a sprung trap door…..with that funny knotted rope around his neck for support.
(watched “Hang ‘Em High” over the weekend. good stuff)

My thoughts exactly.

Deckie

Probably a smart move (if not an obvious one with midterms coming up, he obviously knows which way the wind is blowing.) I bet you damn near 100% of Americans are sick of this arrogant little troll and his bullshit.

Good riddance.

Bet he wants to be out of the country when the republicans take control of the House. He doesn’t want to make any more appearances where he has to give testimony.

Doc Fauci is just a big sleaze,
he peddles a Chinese disease
now he makes a fast dash
with his ill-gotten cash
and tells all his lies with great ease.

P.S.
Fuck Joe Biden
he’s such a crooked slob
he’s never known the effort
of holding a real job.

Your’e a poet and don’t know it.

Thunderstixx

He and colleagues at the NIH received over 150 million dollars in royalties from pharmaceutical companies.
How the fuck does that happen ???

NDHoosier

Graybeard

He was before the Wuhan Flu ever showed up. He coordinated & led the initial misguided response to HIV

He is not better than an African witch-doctor.

5 bucks says Biden presents him the Presidential Medal of Freedom as a parting gift for his “decades of public service”.

Extracted from the Interwebz:

“Fauci makes $480,654.00 annually working for the NIAID, making him the highest paid U.S. Government employee”.

His federal pension will likely be about $29K per month. On top of that, he will collect another $40K per year in Social Security benefits.

MSLSD for the win!

Someone please list the successes he has had throughout his career as a public servant so we can properly laud him.

Fyrfighter

Royally screwing the American public, and getting rich off it??

MCPO USN

So he is moving on to the next phase of his career that he has a passion for. So now he will be a private enterprise serial killer, great.
