Biden pollster claims that Americans are angry; Democrats face sour environment
Joe Biden’s pollster advised Democrats to compete not to get their butts kicked. Despite Democrat claims of improved jobs number, or about other economic data, Americans are going to interpret reality by things such as price of the gas pump. Obama’s strategy for Democrats up for election this November? Just tell them your story.

The White House has defended its economic record, touting high job numbers and increased wages, but Democrats worry that message is being lost when Americans are being hit in the pocketbook at the grocery checkout counter and the gas pump.
White House press secreary Jen Psaki said it was the war in the Ukraine that is making it difficult for the administration to get its economic message out but she defended the job they were doing.
‘We understand some realities happening right now, including the fact that there is a war happening in Europe, and that is dominating the airwaves, which we understand and fully expect,’ she told DailyMail.com at Wednesday’s press briefing.
‘The president has actually done a number of events on the economy in recent days and weeks and will continue to,’ she said. ‘And I don’t know that that’s a shift or requiring a shift; it’s just a recognition that being able to continue to speak to domestic audience.’
Biden is doing his part. He has repeatedly touted the number of jobs being added to the economy: 431,000 were added in March and unemployment was at 3.6 percent.
He and his administration are also amid a nation-wide tour to tout the projects coming out of the infrastructure law. And the president has dispatched all his principals – first lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and second gentleman Doug Emhoff – to proclaim the benefits of the American Rescue Plan.
Voters don’t seem to be giving the president credit, however.
Two new polls this week saw voters give Biden dire marks on his job performance – a 33% approval rating in a Quinnipiac poll and 41% in a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
The United States hit a 41-year high of 8.5 percent this week with high food, gas and rent prices being the underlying cause.
The White House has tried to push the blame on Vladimir Putin’s war in the Ukraine. Biden has labeled it ‘Putin’s price hike.’
But Democratic strategists told DailyMail.com that voters are going to blame the leaders in charge for their domestic pain and not tie it to international issues.
‘No one is going to have to vote on Vladimir Putin anytime soon,’ one Democratic strategist said.
‘They are losing the blame game right now,’ the strategist said of the White House.

There is a reaction when your antics are sufficient to awaken the nation. You cannot keep pissing on folks and keep them happy by saying it’s just rain. They eventually catch on and take retribution on those who are responsible.
My guess is that the Repubs are waiting till the 2022 election is over and the new congress / senate are seated. I predict a new speaker first. Followed by article 25 for biden and impeachment for harris leaving the new speaker as President.
I totally agree that this should be the game plan, this way that can start cleaning house of all the communist that Obammy and joe da fool has placed in the government and military…we can’t get right unless this is done….new speaker as a placeholder for a conservative president not named trump to come in after destroying the dem coms in 2024
Won’t matter unless they gain two thirds majorities in both chambers, and that is not going to happen. If they do though, all we would have to gain is that incompetent wench, Harris.
The job numbers are up but peppermint patty didn’t say that some of the high job employment were due to peeps going back to their old jobs.
The so-called job numbers (e.g., unemployment rate) may be “improving,” but in reality the economy is still in the toilet. And the real job numbers are well below the Trump peak that occurred in Feb 2020 – just shortly before Covidiocy set in. (Yes, the Wuhan Coronavirus was real – but it wasn’t anywhere near the “society-killer threat” it was made out to be. Shutting down the economy because of same was IMO a foolish overreaction.)
No single parameter accurately captures all facets of the US labor market. However, a good single-number indicator is the US labor participation rate. That’s the fraction of the US civilian labor force which is actually working.
Today, that’s 62.4%. Other than during Covidiocy, it hasn’t been that low since Sep 2015 (SCoaMF Admin). Before that, it wasn’t that low since Oct 1977 – when Carter was screwing up the US economy by the numbers.
Recovery in progress? Recovery my ass. We had one underway from Jan 2017 to Feb 2020. Today? Not so much.

Regaining jobs lost due to the Covid quarantine and other disastrous policies does not “create” anything. Actual employment numbers still are far below those enjoyed during the prior administration.
