Latest map of Ukraine showing places attacked by Russia

There’s a lot going on in Ukraine, so add a comment with a link to the latest when you come across it. Aside from the possible air ace I posted about earlier, the above image comes from this tweet;

A small Ukrainian military outpost on an island in the Black Sea near the border with Moldova went down fighting. Word is that all 13 men defending the island died when the Russians attacked them. They did this after making an epic, recorded last message to the Russians.

And there’s a report that Biden may order our Border Patrol agents to POLAND to  “assist” those fleeing the war in Ukraine. I find it hard to believe this is true, but Brandon has a tendency to do the absolute dumbest things imaginable.

That doesn’t sound right. Normally the Navy assists with customs with other nations, sometimes the CG. But if they have the Southern Border on lock down, than sure why not?

SFC D

There’s no effective southern border at the moment.

5JC

It seems to be functioning exactly as the Democrats intended with unlimited immigration and open borders. Surprised you all did t cover the SECDHS visit. It wasn’t at all ironic.

SFC D

It’s functioning so well that D’s Cantina is at an elevated level of weapons readiness.

NATO sat back and watched this military buildup for months.  Every sanction and response has been factored in by Putin.  You have not heard ONE country say they are going to sanction Belarus for the part they are playing in this.

Ukraine in early spring, the Baltics in the Summer.  Who has the nerve or the stones to stop any of it?

Google how much Russian oil we have imported in the last year, and for the first time in 30 years, Iranian oil.  Not even a peep from the Leftmedia about that.

We financed this war, while putting Americans out of work.

Ret_25X

No clue what happens next, but this has made me think about Trump’s attempts to reinvigorate European defense commitments to NATO.

How long has our IC held the assessment that a Russian move against Ukraine was coming?

Also, when did the Western IC first warn the White House?

Has this been briefed to the White House since 2014 (as I suspect) and Biden literally ignored the warnings? It appears so, but why? Also, why was Biden’s first priority upon inauguration to cut petroleum production in the US? This had the effect not just of hurting the US, but materially benefitting Russia, Iran, and Venezuela.

The Neoliberal globalist elites have been looting Ukraine for more than a couple of days here. This may be bigger than we know.

On the other hand, it could be as simple as Putin was just waiting on a moron to be President of the US. idk…

KoB

Spot on SarMaj. I think that all of them bastards are in cahoots with one another…and that they were only delayed in their plans for this by the election of Trump in ’16. We have to remember whose “turn” it was then.

What we are seeing in Ukraine now, may become a harbinger of what We, The People may be facing. It’s too bad that our politicians aren’t as concerned about OUR border as they are Ukraine’s. Sad that the citizens of Ukraine are being used as political cannon fodder for despots…on BOTH sides.

What I find shocking is that we have our intel on what Vlad was doing around Ukraine with his forces to China when asking them to help deter Putin, and instead China gave our intel and assessments to Putin. But hey, that’s not treasonous like that 1/6 protest rally in DC.

The Russians have learned the hard way that war is a hard, messy business requiring pragmatism. They prepare for a battlefield with many bodies; friendly, enemy, and civilian. And don’t forget dead animals. Aside from the need to prevent disease, they don’t live in a fantasyland where they think they have the resources to give every body an individual escort and a plane flight home and families are notified by a team. If, God forbid, we ever get into another real war with lots of casualties we will do the same.

Roh-Dog

About that: “This falls into the category of absolutely fake. This is a promotion film for a Kazakstan company which in 2011 launched a mobile incinerator for biowaste. Its purpose was to support multiple city facilities. It actually flopped.” -Commenter on this video:

Also, show me the difference between a crematorium and a chemical weapons incinerator and you’ll earn yourself a cigar of your choice.

I need a ruling on the field about the Orthodox Church and their standing on cremation.

Hate_me

My understanding is that, while individual Orthodox Christians can opt to be cremated, the official position of the church is against cremation.

As Russian, unfortunately I have to say Biden and for the most part politicians in US do not understand the culture and the nature of politics and politicians in Russia. Vladimir Putin is tyrant, however half of the population (Russian conservatives, mostly older adults who was born in Soviet Time) support him. – While being the tyrant and crazy person he is, he still managed to raise Russian economy in early 2000s out of complete despair. The other half does not support him. US cannot appeal to the russian people, where the media is government controlled and naysayers are suppressed and cast out with ease. There is total monopoly of power by United Russia (Putin’s political party). So, such forceful statements of Putin. – The overt threats, use of force, and bullying cannot be answered with simple sanctions. There is need for military action, which is unfortunately after so many wars US have no stomach for. This is really bad course of action both politically and georgaphically.

Hard eye roll:

On Thursday, Volodymyr Omelyan and his family awoke to the sound of missile blasts nearby.

By Friday, he had said goodbye to his wife and children and had enlisted to fight.

“I’m not a natural-born killer, and I never dreamed to be that type of guy,” said Omelyan, who served as Ukraine’s infrastructure minister from 2016 to 2019. But he says he sees enlisting as a way to protect his family. And he’s confident in the war’s outcome.

“We will win,” he told NPR.

He is not a disinterested person, given the level of corruption that has taken place in UKR, he might be guilt af.

Also NPR is an enemy of America.

Roh-Dog

Myne eyes and brain-housing group suggest otherwise.
But nice Christians In Action talking point, bucko. I’ll make sure to file it between ‘sha’ and ‘right’.

Hondo

You might want to recheck that, 5JC – or at least cite your source. Because that’s exactly the opposite of what transparency.org’s 2021 Corruption Perception Index (CPI) says. Their 2021 CPI lists Ukraine as ranking 122 in the world (1 is least corrupt, 180 is most corrupt) in terms of corruption.

Precisely one European nation is listed on the 2021 CPI as being more corrupt: Russia (world ranking, 136).

Just to be clear are you talking about Russia (Ranked 5), Iraq (#1) or the Ukraine (#117), 2nd lowest in Europe.

Hondo

See above – you might want to re-check your source, since I’ve found exactly the opposite in publicly-available and Internet-accessible data.

In addition to the above-cited source, this link to a different source for corruption ranking by nation says very much the same thing as transparency.org’s 2021 CPI:

https://tradingeconomics.com/country-list/corruption-rank

Hondo

My issue wasn’t with your assertion that the Ukraine is less corrupt than Russia. I’ve seen Russia referred to as a “kleptocracy”; that’s near-universally thought to be a fairly accurate description of Russia’s institutional corruption.

My issue was with your assertion that Ukraine is “one of the least corrupt countries in the world”. What I’ve found says that’s not even remotely close to true. Rather, the Ukraine appears to be regarded as the second most institutionally corrupt nation in Europe and appears – along with Russia – to be part of the group of nations comprising roughly the most corrupt 1/3 of nations in the entire world.

Skippy

Russia should have this wrapped up here in a few days

Hate_me

My guess, despite simplistic views that Putin is just some bully trying to reconstitute the USSR, is that he’s shifted from threats as a deterrent to NATO and westernization in Eastern Europe to blatant preemption. I think he wants an undivided area of control across the northern shore of the Black Sea, possibly all the way into Moldova, and a strong feeling that NATO won’t be willing to risk adding the remaining Ukraine or Finland, before he’s willing to limit the aggression.

Bubblehead Ray

The Ukraine is claiming 3500 Russian soldiers KIA so far. If true this would be stunning. Most combat operations are decided with fewer than 10% casualties. A lot of pictures of dead Russians and destroyed vehicles are showing up in European media.

Here’s some very interesting information from Power Line that is supposedly based on intel obtained from an Estonian member of the European Parliament who is the former Commander of Estonian Defense Forces. He claims intel sources inside the Russian government are reporting that Putin has botched the invasion and that the Russians lack the logistics tail for a sustained fight:

Has Putin Botched the War? | Power Line

Here’s the general reporting this:

Riho Terras – Wikipedia

While ol’ Poe is posting news favorable to Ukraine, Sundance over at theconservativetreehouse.com, considered to be a very reliable conservative source, has posted a warning that we must be careful that we don’t get played by the UN, the US State Department and the Ukrainian government, all of whom have unleashed a full-blown propaganda effort:

“Everything we are seeing in U.S. media surrounding U.S. interests in Ukraine is a massive propaganda operation with the headquarters in the U.S. State Department and U.S. intelligence community. The sense of sympathy you are feeling is part of an intentionally manipulative operation from within this DC matrix.”

The First Casualty of War Is the Truth – The Current Western Propaganda for Ukraine Is Epic in Scale – The Last Refuge (theconservativetreehouse.com)

I was sympathetic long before the war started. It has more to do with Ukrainians I know personally and those I know of and respect such as the Klitchkos. Any man that has 90 million dollars doesn’t have to stay on the lines and fight.

I also never trusted Putin and his idiotic empire building. Inflicting death and suffering on an entire people out of sheer ego and hubris is a crime worthy of eternal damnation.

Hi. Hope you don’t mind me joining the discussion. Was told to come here and welcomed a while back when I wanted factual discussion in other foreign affairs. I was told I could find real answers here.

Do you agree with what this states https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-56720589 the reason for invading, it seems the bottom line is, it’s just Putin’s paranoia. Do I understand that correctly? Or is there much more to this?

Are we really going to sit idly by and watch Russia take over Ukraine, or do they actually have a fighting chance? I am uncertain how true it is, but it appears Ukraine is ripe with raw materials and, so, shouldn’t we (the world) be more concerned with Russia gaining control of this? Is there more to the story?

Would anyone like to help me understand what/why? Not some MSM bs.

I just can’t anymore… when is this nightmare going to end. #letsgobrandon

Welcome Back Home. We enjoy having Adorable Deplorables join the discussions. We also try to deal in “Just the facts, Ma’am”. Not saying we get it right all the time, because there is a lot of disinformation and propaganda out there. Was hoping one of our more Senior Miscreants would chime in FIRST, but looks like you are stuck with me.

Most of us wore the uniform and stood against despots. “Specially Communists despots. The article seems to be factual from what else I’ve read. We do know this; Putin is a despotic, power hungry, former KGB Operator that would love to put the USSR back together. Look at the map to what it used to be and what it is now. And typical Socialist playbook, accuse the other side of something heinous (read modern US demonrat party). The “elite” of this blue marble are steady reaching for their “New World Order”, biggest question is which ones will end up in charge? One thing this war has done, it’s shut down the Covid Talk.

Thanks KoB. Nice to have a home to return to. From what I’ve been reading and seeing it may just be a little of both, or maybe it is one in the same – power and Biblical… time will tell I suppose.
