Nashville officers fatally shoot man after standoff on interstate
Nine Tennessee police officers on Thursday shot and killed a pedestrian who was wielding a box cutter on a major interstate near Nashville, according to authorities.
The shooting involved officers from three separate police departments, including the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD), Tennessee Highway Patrol and a police officer from the suburb of Mt. Juliet, according to an MNPD press briefing on Friday.
Six officers from the MNPD were placed on leave following the incident, the briefing reported. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said in a tweet that further information would come from an investigation.

A Pennsylvania delivery driver outwitted a suspect Thursday night while delivering a pizza, drawing his own gun on the armed would-be carjacker, according to a report.The carjacker allegedly approached the driver, 39, while he was making a delivery in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, pointing a gun at him and demanding his car, FOX 29 Philadelphia reported.
The driver reportedly pulled out his own gun and shot the suspect multiple times. The suspect was taken into custody and hospitalized in critical condition, according to FOX 29. The driver has a license to carry, police said, according to WPVI-TV in Philadelphia.
The suspect fired back but the driver wasn’t hurt, the station reported. Two others are being questioned in connection to the crime.

Kensington St in Philadelphia is where dope zombies live out their tortured yet expressive existences. Kind of surprised that anyone would deliver anything in that depraved area.
Knew some SCCY owners who were real pleased with the bang for the buck. I always love the “I turn up my nose at any but REAL guns” types…still remember a coupla Kansas cops who would never ever touch anything not labeled S&W or Colt, especially not cheap new brands like Riger.
Borrowed a SCCY from my son-in-law. Nice size and feel, but it jammed with either magazine. Both mags rusted sitting in my gun safe after a month.
Is SCCY pronounced “skuzzi” (as in the scsi hard drive)? Or some other way? “Siccy”? “Succy”?
Love it when the story hits “shot the suspect multiple times”. Hopefully, the suspect will be in pain for a while.
