Let’s pile it on
Dunno about you, but I have a depressed area on my upper left arm. Bet most of you fellow old farts do, too. It’s those damn vaccinations! The smallpox vaccine created a small reaction within the recipient’s body which showed their body was immunized and that the vaccine was working. Good thing, too, because other than giving you prominent facial scarring it killed about 30% of those who contracted it. Effective, too – smallpox has been eradicated in this country officially since the 1980s.
So was measles.
But we have an outbreak going in Texas. And Kansas. And Ohio. And New Mexico. Why? Unvaccinated folks contracting it and passing it along.
While most people’s symptoms improve, about 1 in 5 unvaccinated people who get measles will be hospitalized. About 1 out of every 1,000 children with measles will develop brain swelling that can lead to brain damage, and up to 3 of every 1,000 children who become infected will die, the CDC says.
Easy solution – the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) has been protecting adults and kids for decades. But…anti-vaccination folks (anti-vaxxers) claim vaccines damage kids. Their evidence is anecdotal, barely above “I heard at the bar that a trucker saw something really similar when he was on the road somewhere.” You get the idea.
A lot of this got superheated during the Covid pandemic. mRNA vaccines hit the news (ten years after they had been started in use, but that doesn’t matter now) and hyped as having all kinds of severe side effects. Legit, too…thousands of them…out of the millions and millions of shots administered. But if you think you’re gonna get a million to one hit, don’t get one. I get it.
And then we have the gold standard – “Mercury in vaccines causes autism”.
Despite a mountain of scientific evidence concluding there’s no link between autism and vaccines, noted anti-vaccine figure and health secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. is trying to double down on the long-debunked theory.
As the Washington Post reports, fellow anti-vaccine crackpot David Geier — who has published articles claiming that mercury in vaccines is tied to autism, and was previously reprimanded by state authorities in Maryland for practicing medicine without a license — is joining Kennedy’s department as a “senior data analyst” to work on a study once again examining the topic of autism and vaccines.
Remember during the Covid epidemic when folks advocated masking and said “follow the science” – and refused to LOOK at the science that said the virus was so small that a mask wouldn’t stop it? (The best analogy was ‘trying to stop a mosquito with a chain link fence’ as I recall.) Well, the real science said (way back in 2004, during the Bush administration) that the “mercury in vaccines” line was pure BS. And we are trying to hire its biggest advocate?
“To me, the big shame is that with budget cuts, we are not ramping up research into what is actually causing autism,” former head of the Washington office of the CDC Edward Hunter told the NYT. “And if you are worried about vaccine-preventable disease, this is such a clear setback.” Futurism
Kennedy was a poor choice for health secretary then (and now) due to his crackpot anti-vaxxer stance. Doubling down on that? Just plain stupid.

If I could be guaranteed that any vaccine that I was being told that I needed to have was old-school from dead virus, NOT being created with mRNA, then fine, inject away.
BUT, between Big Gooberment, Big Pharma, and pharma-bought doctors, their collective credibility is less than zero.
SO…..no skin punctures for me, ThankYouVeryMuch.
Whenever people talk about inoculation, immunization or vaccination, it’s interesting to note what is said and not said.
I’ve never heard someone say about the small pox inoculation, “You’ll still get pox, but it’ll be tiny.”
But about the civic *vaccine*, they always say, “You’ll still get it but it’ll be milder.”
Trust the science that needs a blanket presidential pardon?
Yea, no
Out of the pot into the frying pan…..
I know he never served, but he did play an iconic role in all-time military movie. Fair winds and following seas Iceman
The surviving cast of Tombstone is shrinking. We have lost Heston, Paxton, Mitchum, Kilmer and nearly a dozen others.
Paxton was an iconic actor. Hudson from Aliens, Chet from weird science, sigh…
I have in my lifetime received 3 doses of the smallpox vaccine first one to start school in 70, one at Navy basic Great Mistakes in 83, and the last on at Ft Fix during Army basic. I am possibly as immune as you can get from that disease. I also do not trust MRNA based injections seems like the only immunity involved was granted to the manufacturer.
Covid was an issue that was completely mismanaged at every level and appears to have been used as a money laundering scam.
I got all the usual vaccines as a kid in the 1950’s.
Hell, I even survived measles itself and was treated with
Radium to remove a tumor when only 6 months old.
I feel duped into taking the first 2 Covid shots but that woke
me up to the new “fake medicine” and I no longer even get
the yearly flu shots.
Besides, a shot of bourbon cures most of todays maladies.
Same here with the 1950’s shots I came down with a few of illnesses but never gor chicken pox which people get shingles from. I asked the publix paharmacy if I should get a shingles shot and she tells me that if I never had chicken pox and you get the stap, you could come down with shingles. I got bloodwork done to see if I ever had chicken pox which I didn’t remember if I did, the bloodwork came up negative. I still have my Navy shot card. I only did the 2 covid shots and that was all. Sis did 2 and now she has lost a little of her sense of smell.
“Sis did 2 and now she has lost a little of her sense of smell”
Probably the desired effect as the government tries
to keep people from smelling the rats…
Ditto for my sister. But she also got the booster. Then six weeks later, she comes down with Covid. She was sick for months and now has all the residual symptoms of “long covid” sufferers: Impaired senses of smell and taste, fatigue, and muscle and joint aches and pains.
I had measles, mumps, chicken pox, scarlet fever, probably a couple of others. And every shoe store had a fluoroscope to check the fit of shoes.
In my opinion, it’s not a vaccine if it only attenuates the effects of a virus/disease instead of providing immunity.
The Fauci Virus jab didn’t provide immunity to anyone, and may be proven to cause long term damage.
Exactly. Prophylactic treatment. Right up until the feds changed the definition of the word “vaccine”. Funny how often they do that sort of thing.
Redefining words is a basic totalitarian move. Winston Smith’s job at the Ministry of Truth in Orwell’s “1984” was redefining troublesome words in the “Newspeak Dictionary.”
Polio was the big thing when I was a kid. I cannot remember how many polio vaccines I received. At least two injections and two oral doses by the time I was 18.
Yeah, so they don’t have mass vaccines in Guatemala and other central American countries. And shockingly some people have run, swam and flown across the border without permission.
Anyway not sure how an outbreak that started six months ago is RFK Jrs fault but there you are.
Exactly. Poor choice for HHS or not, I find it hard to blame Kennedy for this.
Why is RFK Jr. a poor choice?
Anyone we can take away from the Dems is a win in my book. I know he is no conservative or libertarian, but at least he opened his eyes a little bit.
I didn’t say he was a poor choice. David said he was a poor choice. I said poor choice or not.
This administration is barely 90 days in, and one would think the world is collapsing because shit isn’t fixed right now to listen to some people talk.
We didn’t get where we are overnight so this may take a bit to unravel and start putting back in order.
“this may take a bit to unravel…”
Plus there will be a few mistakes along the way. Like all elections we choose what we think is the lesser of two (or more) evils. I am more than happy so far with my choice of evils, warts and all.
Shocking!
RFKJr has some extremist medical views (like the anti-vax) which should have disqualified him. The measles outbreak is due to folks with similar views, not him. Similar, but not identical – the genesis was in a Menonite community, I believe, so more of a religious objection.
David Geiger has been thoroughly discredited and should not be paid for anything medical related. Why hire him…
Nope.
There may be a few with personal objections; however there is no doctrine among Anabaptism that prohibit vaccines. However since most of the kids are homeschooled and all have poor access to medical care they probably figured it wasn’t worth the trouble since no one has had Measles, Mumps or Rubella in their community for decades. These days they are all getting vaccinated in that community.
In 2021 in response to COVID the USMB released a statement saying that vaccines weren’t proscribed by doctrine. People will still do what they want to do.
Yep.
Kinda like putting Weird Al Yankovich in charge of the FBI….
You say that like it would be a bad thing. It would still be an improvement over the last couple of administrations.
Measles outbreak caused by unvaccinated people? Did any of the fine folks who poured over our southern border have their immunization records checked before getting scattered about the country?
I presume that was a rhetorical question, to which you already know the answer.
I mean: a cured/well patient is a LOST patient. Why not keep them in the system for YEARS due to vaccine related illnesses. Am I saying the MMR is dangerous? No…but at the same time when we’ve tripled the amount of vaccines kids have gotten from 1980 to now….and there seems to be a HELL of a lot more ‘autistic’ kids running around now
I’ve sometimes wondered (when I have the time and inclination) about this increase in “autism”. (parallel with the increase in childhood allergies)
Was it there all along, and we’ve just increased our ability to detect it?
Has the definition been broadened, so that normal behavior is now classified as “autistic”?
Is the proliferation of today’s “vaccines” being mandated for children causing this increase in “autism”?
It will take a generation or two of scientists NOT bought-and-paid for by The Two Bigs – Gooberment and Pharma, to answer this question.
“Has the definition been broadened, so that normal behavior is now classified as “autistic”?”
Whatever happened to old school terms such as “spastic”
and “incorrigible”?
Not everything is based on the new science.
And that other old school term, “dumbass”.
I had a different problem in my younger days, I had a problem with paying attention in public school and as the teacher was teaching I was drawing pictures of oil tankers with ESSO on the hulls so my folks thought that I needed reading glasses but that wasn’t the problem and after figuring the problem out , it was I couldn’t absorb reading text so I went to a tutors house a few times a week after school and she had me writing sentences a zillion times like when someone did something wrong, the teacher would have the student write a hundred times I’m sorry on the blackboard a hundred times. Took awhile and next thing you know it I was buying Hardy Boy books at the local toy store.
Gotta wonder if the rise of kids just letting iPads/tablets “babysit” their kids…are kids just not socially adjusted enough to deal life outside a screen?
It’s interesting to look at increases of the disease process. When hypertension was redefined as >130/80 in 2017, the numbers of those affected went up in part because the measurement was lowered. That resulted in a 14% increase of individuals with HTN. Science may have advanced however for the headlines it was “panic all the time”. ( https://newsroom.heart.org/news/high-blood-pressure-redefined-for-first-time-in-14-years-130-is-the-new-high ). It would take more time and dedicated research to discover when autism was redefined from 1:150 to current 1:36. But what do I know
It is overdiagnosed along the borderline spectrums.
Hence Big Pharm Pharm and Adderoll.
Might also note that since 1960 our population has almost doubled from 179 million to 456 million. Should see everything doubled in raw numbers.
346 mill… Damn tiny keys
True. The ratio is concerning. Wonder why no raise from 2020 through 2024?
Probably “all of the above”.
Autism today is the ADD/ADHD of yesterday. I can’t count how many kids I’ve seen with this “diagnosis” since we’ve expanded the “spectrum”. Most, if not all of these questionable-at-best diagnoses I’ve seen have been initiated by schools. Why? It’s a behavior issue. If little Johnny or Susie has Autism, it’s not a poorly performing school or teach problem, it’s not a behavior problem, and each kid with this diagnosis gets special accommodations and supports.
Grades or behavior from these kids now don’t “drag down” school scores. In fact, schools get higher scores for the number of kids “on the spectrum” for which they offer supports/programming.
Doctors are just as complicit. Instead of recognizing the “spectrum” of temperament, because the parents are demanding it, they issue the diagnosis. Now, parents are exonerated for poor parenting, kids are not taught actual accountability for poor behavior/impulse control nor are they expected to do the same work, in the same time-frame as their peers. Sound enough like ADD/ADHD yet?
There is money to be made as well. One can now find “child specialists” who have a practice based on diagnosing kids with Autism.
Maybe we need a federally funded study on the efficacy of a firm smack on the ass, repeated as necessary, in the treatment of ADD/ADHD and some minor forms of autism. Don’t get me wrong, ADD/ADHD and autism are very real and are major problems for many people. But… when every form of child misbehavior is written of as symptoms of something else, I start throwing bullshit flags. I’ll use myself as an example. From kindergarten to grade 12, I was basically a shit student. I wasn’t stupid, it wasn’t that I couldn’t learn, I was just lazy and didn’t want to. Today, I’d probably be diagnosed with multiple disorders and medicated. The things I cared about, I cared deeply. Everything else, the hell with it. OK, I still have a lot of that, but I’m much more selective now.
SFC D,
I’m right beside ya, but I headed in the opposite ADD/ADHD/”Autism” direction.
Smart (enough), got my classroom school work done early (and correctly), then would wander around bothering everyone else.
I don’t know why I was never sent to the library to just “pick a book, any book, sit and read until I call for you”?
There are many days that I say a silent thanks to God that I was born (early 1950s) and raised when I was (1960s), pre-diagnosis and mind altering Rx drugs (as opposed to the mind altering street drugs that I got into later).
I’m sure that if a modern “doctor” had gotten ahold of my childhood self, I’d have been pumped so full of this-that-and-the-other…..I shudder to think how my life would have been changed – and not for the better.
We could form a club and it’d probably be yuge. I always scored well on tests and exams, but if you don’t do your classwork and homework…
I have an old school friend that I knew from 7th grade on. Great guy, hard worker, excellent athlete but just could not read worth a shit. We’d always hold our breaths when he had to read aloud in class, felt bad for him. Nowadays I’m wondering if he didn’t have some kind of undiagnosed dyslexia. It just wasn’t a thing anyone was really looking at in the 70’s. Especially in rural West Potato, Idaho.
I will say we have more diagnosed today than in the past. Autism is a behavioral disorder. The diagnosis for Autism is all observed behavior and this has evolved over time.
There are no biomarkers that indicate when someone has autism. Therefore there is no possible way to show a link to vaccines or any other biological or environmental cause. The widely discredited study that claimed such a link used critically flawed data.
Autism is much more than a behavior disorder. Autism is a “social processing” disorder, and we can see the differences in the brain via fMRI and PET scans. Most of the “problematic behaviors” are related to an inability to “process” social cues, i.e., too much environmental stimuli (noise, light, activity), again seen in altered/nonstandard brain activity.
For those with what we used to call Asperger’s, we see differences in the fusiform area of the temporal cortex and/or the broca’s area in the frontal lobe, but these individuals generally lack the other issues with stimuli. This is why this presentation was given a different name.
We don’t know what causes Autism, and because of that, there are those who claim we cannot therefore rule out vaccines. And you are absolutely correct, that one research paper that really started this all by Andrew Wade was thoroughly debunked. His medical license was stripped and the Lancet issued one of it’s only full retractions of an article.
But he didn’t just quietly go away. He settled in Minnesota where he continued his “research”, primarily among the Somali and Hmong immigrants. No surprise those communities have the lowest immunization rates and highest outbreak rates.
Obviously I’m just a layman here.
They wanted to diagnose my #2 son with Autism because he didn’t like to talk when he was young and they thought he was delayed. He just didn’t have much to say. A quiet child, he is also a quiet man. Only has a few close friends too.
Smart as a whip though. Works hard and got promoted quick in the Army. Not sure why there is a need to bottle and pigeon hole everyone out there.
I worked for a guy who’s son was much like that. Matt was alert, observant, listened and understood, just didn’t talk until he was about 3 1/2. Mom and dad were getting concerned. He then proceeded to bust out in full sentences. No further issues.
Same here with my younger brother and sister. Then they started talking and ain’t shut up since.
I trust most doctors and “Big Pharm” about as much as I trust gas station buffet bar sushi (or as we refer to it…bait). And I trust politicians of ALL stripes even less. They are all equally worthless to me. I do, however, in the Immortal words of Old Lo (BG Lewis Armistead)…”Trust on God and fear nothing”
I worked for Matt’s dad building custom lodgepole pine furniture. Guy brought in some drawings of stuff he wanted built, we’re hemming and hawing, trying to politely tell him that his plans just won’t work. Matt was about 4, drags a chair over to the table, climbs up, elbows us out of the way, stares at the plans for about 30 seconds… looks up and says “It’s a piece of shit, dad!”
Out of the mouth of babes.
So outside of the covide vaccine, what other ones are MRNA related? AFAIK only the covid had that as “new technology”.
As for the rest it’s all BS, and real scientists showed that. I’m waiting for the next polio epidemic to hit. The disease is still out there in the third world, the same third world president dementia was dead set on unrestricted importing. Same as measles. There is a reason that the current measles outbreak happened in TX. The super highway into the US thanks to biden.
My family atty and high school friend suffered Polio all his life.
I remember him walking with leg braces while attending
school and he was not alone. Polio needs to be kept out of
this country.
In the 40s-‘50s our neighbor’s four children contracted polio. Three recovered, having only mild cases but one required the use of an ‘Iron’until, sadly, she didn’t.
World Wide Health Organization attempted to provide polio vaccinations in every country where it was rampant but Pakistan refused to cooperate. So there’s that…
None of the vaccines pre-Covid had MRNA in them. Prior to Fauci’s crew’s redefinition of what is in a vaccine to give it its effect creating immunity to a virus, vaccines were made with either the killed virus or a weakened virus. There was no MRNA in them. That technology was only perfected for the Covid “vaccines.”
“The first human clinical trials using an mRNA vaccine against an infectious agent (rabies) began in 2013.[39][40] Over the next few years, clinical trials of mRNA vaccines for a number of other viruses were started. mRNA vaccines for human use were studied for infectious agents such as influenza,[41] Zika virus, cytomegalovirus, and Chikungunya virus.[42][43]”
Quick search for mRNA history pulled the above.
But I bet none of those were certified to be administered to the public with the drug companies getting ironclad immunity from any liability, like the Covid “vaccines.”
Clinical trials sure, but no vaccines prior to or after the situation were/are used outside of livestock voluntary application.

David – I agree the MMR causes Autism argument is nonsense. That doesn’t mean there isn’t cause to question the ever-growing number of vaccines either recommended or required. The Autism nonsense also doesn’t mean we should blindly “trust” the science – the same science of the Covid-debacle era, the same science that wiped out over 200 million chickens, the same science that keeps predicting the world is ending due to climate change, etc., etc.
The point is, the “science” is corrupted. It is profit driven by one of, it not the most powerful lobbies in the world. When there is such strong motivation for profit, it is just plain dumb not to question the “science” it produces.
I’m not saying the MMR is not safe and effective. The outbreaks we’re seeing are centered or traced to areas with large immigrant (illegal) populations. The herd immunity we have long relied upon is failing because we are learning that over time, the protection of the MMR fades. About 25% of adults who had the vaccine 35+ years ago are shown to have lowered/insufficient immunity, per Titer tests.
These adults are more likely to be asymptomatic carriers or receive a misdiagnosis for mild symptoms than get full-blown measles. This wasn’t an issue, until these adults started getting exposed via populations without vaccines, aka millions of illegal immigrants coming from countries where measles is endemic.
I would want a long, close look at the MMR of today vs the MMR of yesteryear.
Is the new MMR created by old school dead virus means, or has mRNA “technology” been snuck in as a way to “increase efficacy” (and other BS)?
A very valid point.
I have a lifelong friend who has a smallpox scar on his cheek. How, you may ask? Well, wayyy back in the day when we all got the vax as kids, his older sister got hers. Sunday rolls around, the whole family is in church, his sister is wearing a sleeveless dress and he falls asleep… with his cheek on her shoulder. Branded him permanently.
Hell no.
This may or may not be related to the subject matter at hand.

Trust issues? Wonder why? ‘lest we forget…
