California siblings save mom from attempted robbery on front steps of their home, video shows
Suspect apparently followed victim home in Oakland

A California mom was saved by her children when a purse-snatcher attempted to rob her on the front steps of their home last week, according to a local report.The 54-year-old woman was attacked just after her daughter drove her home in Oakland, reported KGO-TV anchor Dion Lim. The would-be thief appeared to have followed them to the home.
Lim shared surveillance video of the incident on Twitter that shows the unknown man following the woman up the stairs to her home and grabbing her purse. The woman, still holding onto the purse, is dragged down their stairs and onto the sidewalk when her daughter and son intervene.
The suspect ran away after the son jumped into action and fled in a getaway car, according to Lim.

GoFundMe removes page supporting Army sergeant who shot and killed armed Black Lives Matter protester

A United States Army sergeant facing a murder charge after shooting a Black Lives Matter protester who approached his vehicle with an AK-47 had his GoFundMe page removed from the site by the company.Perry’s attorneys confirmed to Fox News Digital that the GoFundMe page for their client, Army. Sgt. Daniel Perry, has been removed.
“It’s an expensive trial to undertake with the need for expert witnesses and stuff and we had a GoFundMe site that’s been taken down and it’s been weighing on him,” Perry Attorney Clint Broden told Fox News Digital, adding that Perry’s father had to pay a “significant bond” for his release and that the ordeal has taken a “significant toll” on the family.
On the night of July 25, 2020, at about 9:50 p.m., authorities say Sgt. Daniel Perry was driving for Uber when he encountered a Black Lives Matter protest in downtown Austin, Texas. Perry, an active duty soldier, was stationed at Ft. Hood at the time. The protesters did not have a permit and were reportedly clogging a busy intersection.
After making a right turn onto Austin’s Congress Avenue, Perry’s attorneys say he was swarmed by a group of Black Lives Matter protesters and a masked man, later identified as Garrett Foster, approached his vehicle armed with an AK-47 in the “ready position” as protesters began banging on Perry’s car and throwing bricks.

Yeah GoFundMe is just a big scam that takes 15% off the top for hosting your product (3-5% is also probably going to Visa or MasterCard for the contributions made that way). While it is a convenience, isn’t there something about usury!

Feel sorry for SGT Perry, hopefully he can get the funds promised to that date.

The APD has told the DA that it is impossible to prosecute Sgt Perry, because it is plain as day that it was self defense.

I’ve always held GoFundMe in contempt – while useful in a few instances, as KoB points out – always better to eliminate the middle-man and just contribute directly to whatever the cause may be. Nevertheless, I wish Sgt. Daniel Perry every success in his legal battle and hope he and his family are able to locate alternate funding for his defence fund.
Not a particular fan of Taurus but in fairness, wouldn’t say No if someone gifted me with one. REALLY enjoyed reading the Colt .45 SAAR article. Thank you, Dr GB and AW1Ed!
