Shoplifting suspect shot by police after pulling gun-shaped knife at Florida mall
By Jared Leone
KENDALL, Fla. — A shoplifting suspect was shot by police Friday night after the man pulled out a gun-shaped knife at a South Florida mall, investigators said.Miami-Dade police responded around 8:30 p.m. to a possible shoplifting at a Macy’s department store at the Falls Shopping Center; when the suspect was leaving the store he was shot after he pulled what looked like a gun but turned out to be a knife, WPLG reported.
“You can clearly see that this thing, this object, looks identical to a firearm, but it was later determined that it was in fact not a firearm, it was a knife,” Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, police spokesperson, told WPLG.
The shooting victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. He is in critical but stable condition.

Gun shaped knife?
I had no idea there was such a thing:

As bad as a chainsaw bayonet on an M16.
There’s a level of stupidity you don’t see every day.
A gun shaped knife is still just a…well…knife! Dumbass shoulda got hisself a knife shaped gun. Maybe the docs will take a knife to his “gun” and keep this “victim” from reproducing more like him.
There may and/or may not be a matched pair of percussion cap version of those dueling pistols in a shadow box around Fire Base Magnolia. They didn’t want to go for a boat ride that fateful day. And yes, they are of the same caliber of one of His (Howitzer be His Name) Most Saintly Designs. Accurate as all hell and fun to shoot. Maybe we should start issuing those to Kongress Kritters…along with a cane.
A sword cane?
It’s telling that there’s no name or pic of the punctured purloining perp.
What are the media afraid of? The score from Claw’s Whiz Wheel?
When I posted this at around 0200 this morning both pic and name were included with the article.
