Just A Heads Up

This is a Tucker Carlson video re: Bank of America turning over customer info to the FBI. Per his comments, one of the people the Feebies “interviewed” had done nothing at all other than buying himself a snack.

I don’t know what the world is coming to when a bank – a major bank, in fact – thinks it is okay to do this kind of thing. Carlson does not indicate whether this was done under a warranted demand, or by a simple demand from the Feebies, but as he indicates, one person had simply used his bank card to buy a snack in WDC.

The whole “guilt by association” thing comes flying up in front of me with this: I’m in WDC on a trip to visit the Smithsonian, and I buy a cheeseburger and fries and a Diet Coke at McD’s, so that alone makes me some sort of suspect in something with which I had no connection.

These clowns were not remotely this diligent when the October 1967 protest took place, starting at the reflecting pool and moving over to the Pentagon. I lived up the hill at Quarters K at the Naval Annex at the time. I saw some guy get thrown out of the building by the MPs. Why were none of those draft-dodging jerks arrested back then? Were we more civilized?

I think I will use cash to buy my food and cat food from now on.  This absolutely sucks BigTime.

That it should come to this….

If I coulda got my pension rolled out in a lump sum without giving half of it to the grubermint, I woulda. My financial man asked me how I wanted to do the disbursement and said “Gold coin of the realm!” Says he, “So you want me to put it in Gold and mail you the certificates?” “NO!”, says I, “U.S. Mint gold Double Eagles!” I’d of buried them puppies in a mason jar in the back yard and put a hog pen over it.

Besides not being able to avoid the taxes, you can’t get Gold Double Eagles in any quantity and it’s getting to where so many places won’t take cash money. I’d of settled for Morgan Silver Dollars. Privacy in this Country is nearly non-existent anymore and somebody, somewhere, from some gruberming entity knows everything there is to know about you. And we are now at the point to where they will use that knowledge against you.

Saving my quarters lately…least you can make small game arrowheads out of the…when the time comes.

Some of the lead I invested in has gone thru the roof.

Grew up in county seat of an Illinois county w/14k population. Aunt was city clerk. She collected the parking meter money for the city. Lots of foreign coins were the same size as ours and she couldn’t get the banks to take them. She filled 4 quart jars and gave them to me. I still have them. Lots of obsolete Pfennigs from Germany and even some coins from Libya and Palestine. No nibbles from coin collectors though. 🙁
As for now, I’m just rich with memories.

Oklahoma considers gold legal tender and you can buy it tax-free as bullion there. Buy all you want.

The Houthi’s are in bed with the Iranians and they both hate Americans, so this was easy for the Creepy in Chief.

B of A rolled over eagerly and there was no warrant, just a request from the feds. If this had happened 2 years ago I would expect to see some legislation written to stop this intrusion and abrogation of the 4th amendment. Now, I expect it to be a routine situation. I just wonder how long before every bank and other kind of financial institution will be making monthly reports to the feds of any gun, ammo sporting goods purchase.

I am not surprised that Bank of America did this. By law, banks routinely report certain activities of their customers to the government. Don’t count on bankers not to do what is asked of them by the government- lawful or otherwise.

Also alarming is banks snooping through your financial transactions for marketing purposes. If you maintain high deposit levels (+$100,000) or have certain expenses (frequent airline purchases, luxury items), your accounts undergo further examination. Sometimes this is done at the local level or out of headquarters. Usually, this effort focuses on wealth management marketing.

I recall onetime a banker from headquarters showed off a new in-house application during a company meeting that let bankers at the local level look through a person’s credit card transactions. During the presentation, the banker gave a rundown of a sample customer’s activities during the prior week. I was stunned, as I had never suspected the bank snooped at this level. During the presentation, I wondered if the banker used a fake identity in the example. I googled the person’s name, and sure enough, it was a real person being use for the presentation. (I think the program went away a little later.)

You shouldn’t be surprised the government and banks want to do away with your cash.
