Washington state homeowner fights back against man who used shovel to break into residence: report
‘They were terrified; they were crying and scared,’ the family’s mother said of her daughters during the incident

By David Aaro
A Washington state father fought back against a home intruder on Saturday, after the suspect attempted to break in by smashing the family’s glass front door with a shovel, according to a report.

Joey Archer, the Rainier, Wash., homeowner, disabled the suspect until authorities arrived and arrested him.

“I grabbed the shovel and yanked it out of his hand, and he had the butt of it, so I grabbed it, yanked it, and hooked him in the head with (it) twice just wham, wham,” he told Seattle’s KIRO-TV.

Clerk shoots robbery suspect in Tuscumbia

A robbery suspect was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital Monday after being shot at a Tuscumbia gas station, police said.

Tuscumbia Police Chief Tony Logan said the robbery happened at the Fuel City on Highway 72 around 11 a.m. A clerk shot the suspect as he was trying to get away, Logan said.

The clerk, Miranda Mullins, told News 19 she was suspicious of the man when he came into the store because he had his hood up and was wearing sunglasses.

Mullins said the man demanded money at gunpoint. As he was leaving, Mullins said she pulled a gun from under the counter and shot him in the shoulder.

The suspect got into a vehicle with a woman, who drove off and then was involved in a wreck at Avalon and Montgomery avenues, near Helen Keller Hospital, Chief Logan said. The woman was not injured in the crash, he said.

Gun-toting congresswoman-elect may carry Glock at Capitol

BY ALAN FRAM
A firearms-toting congresswoman-elect who owns a gun-themed restaurant in Rifle, Colorado, has already asked Capitol Police about carrying her weapon on Capitol grounds, her office has acknowledged. If she does so, she apparently won’t be alone.

The practice is allowed for lawmakers, with some limitations, under decades-old congressional regulations. The public is barred from carrying weapons in the Capitol, its grounds and office buildings.

BZ to all of those who defend themselves, others, or their property from dirtbags. Remember the 3 Ses…Shoot, Shovel, Shut up. The above stories had 2 out of 3…which as we all know, ain’t bad.

In re the Blunderbuss, the original “Away Boarders/Prepare to repel Boarders” weapon, brings to mind a comment made by John Wayne’s Character to Jack Elam’s Character in the Rio Lobo/Bravo Pictures as Elam was blazing away with the Overland Stage Model 12; “…Why are you firing that scattergun, you’re too far out of range to hit anything?” Elam replied, “You don’t mind if I shoot it anyway, makes me feel better.”

“Y’all know why I put that last article in….” Welp, let’s see here…A dig at the Gun Bunny? Another way of showing your creepy love affair with a plasticized abomination? Going all Maverick on us over the cooking goose that needs to be put on ice, man? Done lost that loving feeling for the more Saintly designs of firearms? Or, just maybe, encouraging us to us the AlgoreBull inherwebz thing to look up Ms Kongress Kritter Elect Thang and verify that yes, just as IDC SARC would, we would hit it! Mission Accomplished!

A most Blessed and Gracious Thanksgiving Food Feast to all and in particular to our Brothers and Sisters out there on the pointy end of the stick, we have all been there and done that.

Bim

I read that she also rallied against the Colorado law that limits people gathering at thanksgiving but not other services. She is supposedly having a ‘funeral for her turkey’ today with 30 other people to circumvent the law. Clever girl!

Four kids? And not even 35 yet?

Busy woman.

It some places, it is not lawful to shoot someone who is fleeing. I’m guessing that the guy was actually facing her when she shot him but stumbled on something and turned his shoulder to her before the bullet got there.

Danged rotator cuff problems leave me feeling like I’ve been shot in the shoulder. Gotta learn a whole repertoire of motions to keep it working right.
