Alwyn Cashe MoH update
Jeff LPH 3 sends along word that the Senate has approved to allow the President to upgrade Sergeant First Class Alwyn Cashe‘s Silver Star to the Medal of Honor. We’ve talked about Cashe many times over the years and he was a personal hero of our founder Jonn Lilyea.
President Trump hasn’t made any public comments on whether he will make the award. He has awarded the medal nine times since taking office.

Long overdue and well deserved….should be a hero to us all.
FINALLY!!!!
Rest In Peace, SFC Cashe.
A TRUE HERO who gave his Life for others.
SALUTE.
It’s about time.
Some good news for screwed up times.
Truly!
Good news indeed. And more than well deserved.
Thanks again to his family for sharing him with us for a while. He represents all that is good about this country. We need such heroes. And those heroes need to be elevated for all to honor.
MRS D saw something on the news about this yesterday, she’d never heard the story of SFC Cashe. Had her in tears. It’s about time this man was recognized for his actions. There should never have been a delay or question about awarding him the MOH.
Something good 2020.
Here-Here!
Excellent news.
IMHO it’s long overdue.
What makes anyone think that President Trump would make this award. After all, he is nothing but a RAAAAAAYYYCCIIISS that has done nothing at all for the persons of color in this country. The award should be delayed still further until the person who ALL of the true Black People voted for is sworn in, or…better yet…for when the FIRST Black Female takes over the White House (which, btw, will be repainted and renamed upon her ascension to the throne…err err…swearing in). I do hope that the /S/ is obvious here.
Finally, after way yonder too long, this Hero will be Honored on a level befitting his Valor and Sacrifice. BZ to all who kept pushing to make sure that this happened. “…no greater love…”
A fitting tribute for an amazing soldier.
Word.
I’m nobody special, not even a little bit. But I have known and served with a few true heroes. But this soldier…
I feel deeply honored to have been on the same planet as a man such as this.
Being burned is one of those things that can usually punch through anyone’s will.
Not this true hero. I don’t know why in hell he didn’t get the MOH in the first place. It’s a no-brainer.
And not for nothing, your humility makes you stand out above most. There’s that.
Words escape me as to how to describe a man, a solder such as Sergeant First Class Alwyn Cashe.
To give his life, with no hesitation, for his men……..there should never have been a delay in awarding him the Medal Of Honor.
Rest in peace, Platoon Daddy.
Yep.
That there man was the REAL McCoy Plat Daddy.
If for any reason the presentation is delayed, I would hope that the presentation does not become an example video for Sexual Harassment.
Bout time
He definitely defines a hero
Can we get this done by 31 December? Would end this FlusterCluck of a year on a good note.
BRAVO!
