The Associated Press still expect Trump to become a tyrant at the head of a military junta

| November 12, 2020

Military Times ran this AP article with the title Military wary that shakeup could upend its apolitical nature.

Whoa, this is concerning. What have people, such as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs said that the AP is so concerned?

General Milley, the CJCS, said that the US Constitution is the “moral North Star” for everyone in uniform. Whoa. I can see why they’re so worried. Furthermore Milley said, “We are unique among militaries. We do not take an oath to a king or a queen, a tyrant or a dictator. We do not take an oath to an individual.”

This is how Lolita C Baldor of the AP characterizes those totally honest, true, innocuous, and uncontroversial statements;

The words spoken by America’s top military officer carried a familiar ring, but in the midst of a chaotic week at the Pentagon, they were particularly poignant.

This isn’t the first time the DoD has run without a SecDef. This isn’t even the first time in this presidency that the SecDef has been fired. Every single time there’s a shakeup in the Trump cabinet the media clutch their pearls and sound the alarm of chaos and impending tyranny.

Milley was speaking Wednesday at the dedication of an Army museum in a week that saw President Donald Trump fire Defense Secretary Mark Esper and install three staunch loyalists to senior Pentagon policy positions. The abrupt changes have raised fears about what Trump may try to do in his final two months of office — and whether the military’s long held apolitical nature could be upended.

Apparently the AP has been led to believe that people within the Pentagon (they don’t even cite any anonymous sources) are suddenly super nervous that (since they note Trump “has refused to concede his election loss”) the president will use his last few months in office making some sort of radical, dangerous policy proposals such as…pulling our troops out of Afghanistan. I guess all those limousine liberals with “Support the Troops Bring Them Home” signs in their yards don’t actually believe that message. This is my surprised face. 😐

Reading this, one is led to believe that the Pentagon is quivering in fear over what Trump and his alleged sycophant appointees will do. If you’re wondering about the quality of the reporting here, there’s this Grade A bull plop;

[Former SecDef] Esper also carried Trump’s message on increasing defense spending to NATO allies, with modest success. The move for more allied spending was a continuation of a push by the Obama administration.

That’s a new one. There’s nothing Trump did that they won’t give credit to Obama for. Few more months and they’ll be talking about the success of the Obama border wall and Obama’s Space Force.

More fantastical day dreams from the mainstream media. Usually, the things they accuse the right of is projection so perhaps it’s a warning for the next time they lose a presidential election.

OWB

Delusions abound. When they are not outright lying, the media stretches any stray comment into something unrelated to whatever was actually said.

Such hysteria. For no good purpose, and with no basis for the hysteria other than their own wishful thinking.

Check out the article from the Washington Post:

“The Army’s New Museum Is What We Need At This Moment of Constitutional Peril”

https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/museums/national-army-museum-opens-fort-belvoir/2020/11/11/cd07ea06-2442-11eb-952e-0c475972cfc0_story.html

I became a Founding Sponsor of the Museum in 2004.

Never expected that 16 years later that the opening of the Army Museum would become politicized, especially on Veteran’s Day.

So Sad.

11B-Mailclerk

They are concerned Trump is going to pull our forces out of Afghanistan, ending a whole bunch of Gravy Train rides.

Seems like a bunch of folks object to civilian control of our armed forces. He is the one elected to control them. Some folks have forgotten that.

The Deep State Career Politicians and Swamp Dwelling UnCivil Servants have saved their phony baloney jobs and will drive another nail into the coffin of the United States of America. Who would of thought that the stealing of a National election would have been so very simple. LBJ is beaming with pride from his front row seat in Hell.

I wonder what the Pentagon and the Joint Chiefs of Staff would do if the True American Patriots of this Country marched on Washington DC with all intents and purposes to arrest and try for sedition/treason said Kongress Klowne Kritters and their useful idiot minions of the UnCivil Service? The flexibility that oblowme spoke of him having “after my re-election” is starting to show even more now. “How much damage can they do until the next election in 2-4 years?” Well, now we know.

This crap started when Karl Marx sent the FIRST 2000 of his followers to this Country in the 1850s.

Commissar

Deep state?

You mean like the DMV?

SteeleyI

Routed by troops under the command of Douglas MacArthur and the personal leadership of George Patton, by the way.

Mason/SteeleyI, Roger all that. Quite familiar with the Bonus Army. Just my opinion, but my thinking is not a mob that is trying to collect early on a promised monetary Bonus, but the arrest and prosecution of known domestic enemies of our Republic. Just as it is a known fact that the politicians of 1860 caused much of the division then, thus we have had self serving, grifting, crazy mad drunk with power politicians looking after themselves and their lobbyists, forgetting that they work for “We the People.”

They are (politicians) just like 2-4 year old spoiled brats. The more they are allowed to get away with, the more they will attempt to get away with. Most of them have never been taken to the “woodshed” or sent out to cut their own switch…and it shows.

The American People need to wake up and realize that history can and is repeating itself. They do not realize that you can vote your way into socialism, but you have to shoot your way out.

I have no reply for the sissy punk asinine POS seagull’s snide remark. The sooner he goes FOAD, the better off we will all be.

SteeleyI, good to see you man…DaHell you been?

The Associated Press still expect Trump to become a tyrant at the head of a military junta. The Asshole Press (AP) made a typo which should have read: The Associated Press will expect biden to become a tyrant at the head of a military junta when the demoRATS take over the senate. As what someone put up on one of the Sundays Boomers, “you can vote socialism BUT you have to shoot your way out”.

Commissar

No.

They expect him to fail at trying to do so.

Because our institutions won’t allow him to.

Doesn’t mean he isn’t trying to find some way to remain in power despite losing the election.

Commissar:

I have to ask.

Why DID you join the US Army?

Gee Whiz…some of us here on TAH served under Johnson, Carter, Clinton and Obama, yet for some reason, those Dudes don’t live in their heads.

For some reason, you seem to be OBSEESSED with President Trump..and NOT in a healthy manner.

That obsession is gonna eat you alive.

Again, you must REALLY like TAH, because you are here almost on a daily basis.

Hopefully, you have donated to keep TAH running…you HAVE donated…correct?

penguinman000

He’s a member of the FSA. I would be shocked if he actually contributed to keeping this place running.

KoB

The spapos has certainly contributed more than enough of his share of human fertilizer here.

Commissar

You internal narrative about me is wrong.

Yes, I have contributed.

Commissar

I have donated.

I grew up during the cold war. The Army was a logical choice.

Not obsessed with Trump. Obsessed with our political economy, our national legacy, our place in the world, and our future as a nation.

I am also obsessed with human rights, the social contract, and their future security.

Finally, I am obsessed with holding those who use their office for self interest personal enrichment, are corrupt, or abuse power; accountable.

ninja

Commissar:

Not demeaning you, but based on your Birth Year, I know that you never practiced in school based on a “Cold War” scenario, i.e. duck and cover, going to a fallout shelter, etc.etc.

You did not have to deal with Cuba, Vietnam, the threat of the USSR nuking us, etc.etc..

Or did you?

The majority of us “grew up” during the Cold War. In fact, I bet that 100% of TAH, 100 PERCENT grew up during the Cold War.

You can’t see yourself as others do, because sadly, you ARE obsessed with President Trump.

And it is not healthy.

Thank You for donating to TAH. As shared, you do have a heart and you do care.

Just recommending that you stick with the topic and NOT address President Trump in every subject.

Hate_me

100% may be a bit presumptive.

I am certainly not the most established commenter, here, but I’m pretty sure there are some who are younger than am I.

I remember doing air-raid drills in elementary school, but the Berlin Wall came down long before I ever slept with a girl or took the oath of enlistment (though I was old enough to appreciate Scorpions’ tribute). As a serviceman, I’m sad I never got to ride the ferris wheel at Gorky Park; as an American citizen, while I benefited from early years under Reagan, I can’t say the Cold War was a defining aspect of my life. I “came of age” in the relative peace that followed it.

Largely concur with the rest of what you wrote.

ninja

Thank You for the feedback!

The Cold War was from 1947-1991 and now that I think about it, we do have some TAH commentators that were born after 1991, so you are right and I was wrong..not 100%, perhaps 95%…

I remember doing those drills…however, the ninja children never did those drills and were not really focus on the Cold War considering their age and culture.

Thank You, again!

ninja

Thank You for sharing, Mason!

We remember those drills in the 50s and 60s and it was not about tornadoes…😊

Also remember having to group with others in Quaset Huts while living on Military installations…

Funny thing is when we lived in France and Germany during the Cold War, we did not have to do that many Drills… We did more in the USA…

Go Figure…!!

😉😎

Martinjmpr

Civil defense drills became pointless after the widespread adoption of the H bomb by the mid 1950’s.

We never did civil defense drills when I was in elementary school in the late 1960’s – early 70’s.

Every now and then you would see a movie or some old handout about civil defense but AFAIK nobody took that stuff seriously.

So any drills you did in the 1980’s were, in fact, tornado drills and nothing more.

Hate_me

For me, at least, they were called “air-raid” drills and, being in the St Lawrence Valley, tornadoes were never a great concern.

UpNorth

We had “tornado” drills in Saginaw, Michigan. Until my dad pointed out that there were very few tornadoes during December, January and February.
Even an elementary school kid began to realize Duck and Cover or being herded to the basement had nothing to do with the weather.

thebesig

Yup, I’m 50, I remember doing “duck and cover” exercises in school as a kid. Training involved a film showing types of bombers and what a nuclear explosion was like. I remember one explanation to what we were doing as “Playing ‘Hide and Seek'” from the bomb. Then they’d run the air raid drills.

Of course, I didn’t disclose this someone I argued with on another site not to long ago. He bragged about doing duck and cover drills to try to show how long he was around. I reminded him about the NBC, full suited, training that we did in the military and that I was laughing at him “in veteran”.

The Other Whitey

I was in kindergarten when they smashed the Berlin Wall. Otherwise, Ninja was pretty much dead-on-balls, except for being overly charitable towards Lars.

Commissar

I absolutely did duck and cover. Sit under my desk. Go to a basement fallout shelter at the school etc.

That didn’t really end until the 80s.

And I did grow up during the Cold War. I was in when the wall came down.

And we were still yelling “kill a commie for you mommie” and calling targets Ivan.

And I absolutely did participate in Cold War scenario training.

I also memorized Soviet a order of battle in AIT and studied their operational doctrine.

I will stop obsessing over Trump in a few months.

ninja

Commissar,

I believe that you grew up during the Cold War…

It seems that there are others on TAH who are about your age that did the Duck and Hide Drill as well, which I am surprised since the ninja family kids never did that in school, i.e. compare to what we (the ninja parents) did in school in the late 50s and early 60s.

So I apologize for saying you did not grow up in the Cold War era.

Hopefully, you will get President Trump out of your head since he seems to live there…again, don’t think it is healthy for you to be so obsessed with him..

Thank You for your feedback.

rgr769

The last “duck and cover drill” I recall was in the late 50’s or early 60’s. My children never did them, and the oldest never did them and he was born in 1974, so I doubt the mollusk was doing them in 1976 or 1977, but in his parallel universe maybe they were still doing them in the 1980’s. And yes, I have seen stuff on the Algore’s innertube that says the drills “faded away” in the 1980’s. So maybe in some backwater grade schools run by staunch anti-communists, they still did “duck and cover” in the early 80’s.

timactual

I remember doing “duck and cover” drills until I was in the 7th grade. Of course I was in Arlington, Va. then, walking distance from the Pentagon, so I guess they figured it really didn’t matter. Still saw signs for “Fallout Shelter”, though. Stocked with barrels of water, food, etc.

Same here. Hand you don’t write with goes over the back of the neck to protect from flying glass.

Again, you must REALLY like TAH, because you are here almost on a daily basis.

Not necessarily, ninja. I can think of at least five other explanations (and there are likely many more):

(1) masochist who enjoys abuse;
(2) someone so lonely that they seek any attention they can get, even if it’s virtually all negative attention;
(3) narcissistic attention whore who who always has to be the center of attention, even if it means getting verbally abused;
(4) someone with a perverse psychological “need” to demonstrate an assumed but nonexistent intellectual superiority; or
(5) a jackass who simply enjoys p!ssing off others.

Commissioner Wretched

Well, considering that no state has yet officially certified its vote totals – thus no actual awarding of any electoral votes has taken place – I’m not exactly sure how Biden calls himself “President-elect,” anyway. Doesn’t somebody official – not the press, they don’t count – have to officially say something official first?

I mean hell … *I* have as many official electoral votes as Biden and Trump have right now!

steeleyI

I doubt that President Trump has any intention of trying to stay in office. What he may do continue to pursue his legal challenges, make some public statements, and refuse to cooperate with the transition. He will issue a lot of executive orders and fire some folks, and probably pardon a bunch of others. Everyone in government will comply with all of this as long as it is legal.

In other words, pretty normal last few months for a lame duck.

He will do this right up until 1145L or so on January 20th. At that time he will have to walk out and take his place for the inauguration, unless he refuses to participate. Regardless, at 1215 or so Joe Biden will be the president, and everyone in the government will stop complying with orders from the Trump administration. A moving van will show up and move his stuff out and another will bring Biden’s stuff in.

After the ceremony, Joe will awkwardly hug everyone near him, sniff some hair, and go to the Oval Office where he will sit behind the Resolute desk (assuming he doesn’t bring back the Johnson or Hoover desk in honor of former Democrat presidents), and start issuing executive orders rescinding most of those Trump just issues (who knows, he may like some). Everyone in the government will comply as long as they are legal.

As far as the military propping up one ‘junta’ or another, the same rules that got Esper ultimately fired still apply. We don’t normally do law enforcement, and we can use force against US Persons only in very specific circumstances (by the way, an armed, organized militia marching on DC to arrest the Congress would be one of those circumstances).

The military chain of command for this, by the way, would run from the President to the SecDef to the NORTHCOM commander and down to JTF NCR, currently commanded by a guy named Omar Jones.

So, no Juntas, no ‘propping up’, no SWAT teams in the Oval Office. Just a Wednesday.

Trump ain’t the one stealin’ shit.

He was talking about the most extensive network to DETECT and STOP fraud.

The entire interview makes that clear.

11B-Mailclerk

“We have put together I think the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.” – Joe Biden

rgr769

With all the “empiric evidence” of voting fraud and electronic vote stealing, including the voting of the dead, one has to wonder how this D-rat “extensive network” failed to find any voting fraud anywhere in the entire country. In one incidence, they found a person who voted repeatedly in the past five elections who was born in the 1830’s. But maybe the D-rats are just determined not to disenfranchise the deceased.

Berliner

Ron Klain, chief of staff designate for Joe Biden, said in 2014 that elections are rigged. Klain made the comment on Twitter in reply to a Vox post on July 14, 2014 that said “68% of Americans think elections are rigged.” Klain replied. “That’s because they are.”

Commissar

also, “Anonymous”,

If Trump, some of his cronies. and his lawyer are making a lot of statements and tweets about fraud…

But he is not trying to prove those unsubstantiated claims in court. Because he knows they are either bullshit, or he has no evidence of them.

The actual court filings in the cases he has opened do not claim fraud. Just anecdotal “good faith errors”.

Also, we know he knows he has no chance of winning because he started a legal fund to go after these “fraud” claims…

He solicited tens of millions from his cult like supporters. The ones he is defrauding by claiming election fraud.

But he is siphoning most of the money to pay of his campaign debt, and fund a PAC for his rallies after he leaves the white house.

Berliner

Words do mean thing. The following famous quote is from a former Democratic Congressman from the 1st Congressional District of Pennsylvania:

“Money talks in this business and bullshit walks.”

He served his district from November 1976 to October 1980 when he became the first lawmaker expelled from the House of Representatives since the Civil War. That quote was recorded by the FBI in a sting operation known as ABSCAM. He was subsequently convicted of bribery and conspiracy charges, and sentenced to serve three years in prison in 1981.

You may ask why I’m bringing up old news. Well, Michael “Ozzie” Myers is back in the news again. He was indicted earlier this week on charges of “conspiring to violate voting rights by fraudulently stuffing the ballot boxes for specific candidates in the 2014, 2015, and 2016 primary elections, bribery of an election official, falsification of records, voting more than once in federal elections, and obstruction of justice,” according to a Justice Department statement.

Myers is now charged “with conspiring with and bribing” former Philadelphia Judge of Elections Domenick Demuro, who pleaded guilty in March and was convicted in May for “his role in accepting bribes to cast fraudulent ballots and certifying false voting results during the 2014, 2015, and 2016 primary elections” in the city, according to the Justice Department.

Nov 6, 2020, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that his Election Fraud Unit assisted the Limestone County Sheriff and District Attorney in charging Kelly Reagan Brunner, a social worker in the Mexia State Supported Living Center (SSLC), with 134 felony counts of purportedly acting as an agent and of election fraud. If convicted, Brunner faces up to 10 years in prison for these offenses.

tate Supported Living Centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Brunner submitted voter registration applications for 67 residents without their signature or effective consent, while purporting to act as their agent. Under Texas law, only a parent, spouse or child who is a qualified voter of the county may act as an agent in registering a person to vote, after being appointed to do so by that person. None of the SSLC patients gave effective consent to be registered, and a number of them have been declared totally mentally incapacitated by a court, thereby making them ineligible to vote in Texas.

Want to guess her party affiliation?

Its not what you know it is what you can prove. Election fraud has happened in every election ever held. Whether it can be shown to be enough to make a difference remains to be seen. Short of some sort smoking gun popping up Biden will be president, however briefly that may be. Then police and military defunder Harris will be president.
