A peaceful protest. Mostly.

Minnesota was the site of another protest this weekend. This one didn’t have the aim of a violent overthrow of the government. It was an actual, honest to God peaceful protest. Minnesota Public Radio (the state’s NPR arm) reported it thusly;

More than 100 people rallied outside the Minnesota Capitol in St. Paul on Saturday in support of President Trump, and against statewide pandemic policies they say are infringing on personal freedoms and damaging the economy.

The “United We Stand & Patriots March 2020” event was organized by a group called the Minnesota Patriot Alliance. Among the attendees were some who drove tractors 200 miles from Menahga and Wolf Lake, Minn., calling for an end to Gov. Tim Walz’s COVID-19 state of emergency.

The group marched from near the Cathedral of Saint Paul to the Capitol grounds, singing and carrying flags. Some in the crowd carried long guns and wore body armor.

The protest resulted in no hospitalized police officers, no looting, no burning of any public buildings, and was by all accounts not disruptive to the local citizenry or business. In fact, held on a weekend, the protest was likely not even viewed by any lawmakers at the Capitol.

NPR closes out that there was an unpeaceful element;

State troopers separated the group from about 14 counter-protesters, two of whom they arrested about two hours into the event. Otherwise there were no reports of physical confrontations or violence.

Now contrast this with another local news outlet’s far more biased reporting. From Fox 9;

A march that made its way to the Minnesota State Capitol brought together self-described patriots to take a stand against Governor Walz’s COVID-19 emergency order.

The “United We Stand” rally and Patriots March 2020 started Saturday morning at Cathedral Hill Park on Summit Avenue before moving to the capitol. Marchers carried flags showing support for first responders along with President Trump.

Organizers say the purpose of the rally was to let the voices of the “silent majority” be heard. A number of guest speakers were featured at the rally that lasted several hours.

The event was mostly peaceful despite some tense moments involving a counterprotest also going on at the capitol grounds.

What is a “self-described” patriot? Saying something is “self-described” immediately assigns a judgement and casts doubt on whether the claim is real. As in saying “the self-described Reverend Al Sharpton” helps to convey my belief that Sharpton’s ecclesiastical bona fides are lacking.

Even better is the note that the event was “mostly peaceful”, which we know after the last few years means it was a violent riot. The implication here is that the “self-described” patriots were the instigators with these counter protesters, when we know from more accurate reporting that it was the other way around.

What a shame the cnn office that was torched awhile ago wasn’t the station that all the fake news peeps broad cast from and they weren’t in the building. Would have been a nice roast since the FD couldn’t make it in. Turnabout is fair play. After all, it’s okay to try and torch an occupied Police station so it could work both ways. Just saying.

There is a difference between “protests” to preserve rights you already have while celebrating support for the current regime, and protests that critical of the the current regime and demand change.

The first comes from a place of privilege and power, the second comes from a place disenfranchisement and relative powerlessness.

And those of you so critical of “leftists” protests…

What exactly are the protesting in support of that you oppose?

Treating black people fairly under the law?

Not unnecessarily extrajudicially killing citizens on our streets?

Expecting there to be consequences and accountability for abuses of power?

Expecting the law enforcement in our nation be better trained to handle issues they are being called upon to handle?

Expecting law enforcement to know the law and the limits of their authority?

Expecting municipalities to prioritize their spending effort such that they allocate resources to the kinds of professionals that are needed for the issues the community needs to address instead of trying to use a hammer for every problem from criminal acts, to mental health crises, to homelessness, to drug addiction… expecting the police to handle every social issue as though they are all crimes?

I’m learning 2 languages and slept through Spanish for a 3rd and I’m pretty sure I’ve never mangled one of them as badly as you’ve mangled your first language without copious amounts of alcohol. If you can’t make it through your work day at the 50 Cent Party, you’re going to get a reprimand and lose some social credit Lars.

Overall your comment can be broken down to “Blue man bad.” and then a lot of bloviating and dog whistling. You clearly didn’t grow up poor, around other poor kids. You CLEARLY have never seen actual racism. I’ve still got the scars from it. I still remember never being able to visit my friend’s house because of racism. I still remember being shot at because of racism.

Beyond all of that. You’ve clearly never done research in your life. You’ve never requested body cam, dash cam or other footage related to cases. You’ve never checked into the situation from multiple sources. You’ve never looked at how many police interactions there are daily and you’ve never actually thought about the fact that more money, not less would be needed to accomplish what you morons are after.

You got some evidentiary excuses for those malicious actions you’re attempting to run a screen for?

Or more ‘orange and blue man bad’?

The system ain’t broke, perhaps it is you, and your ilk, that’s the problem?

Burn it down, Lars. It’s your only hope.

(Lowkey, I pray you assholes keep it up; shooting cops, burning down cities and acts of terror. Bestest DJT re-election footage ever. And if the Lefties want a fight, sheeeet. Been there and the T-shirts is deep, Son!)

      TAH Admin,
Could you PLEASE BLOCK this son-of-a-whore (apologies for the language).
I am TIRED of trying to wade through this chin deep shit salad that turns everything upside down and inside out without proof or evidence.
I try to have a nice day, come here to read TAH, maybe even learn something, then I run into THIS brick wall of Marxism.
If you can’t totally block him, at least admin his spewings so that only the intelligible ones are posted. (I know he had one recently this week, so all is not a total loss)
I’m off to get a double dose of aspirin.
      Thx for listening.
If “you” (TAH Admin) decide to not publish this, I will understand.
I try to not let Seagull get under my skin, but I am only human, and can tolerate only so much.

And before Seagull starts on about my nom de plume “Racist”, I adopted it because of the Leftist Libtard DildoCrats spewings and rantings, not because I am one. But of course I wouldn’t expect Seagull to understand.

      • Poetrooper says:

Tox, let him keep posting–it’s good for the site because he gets our political and patriotic juices flowing. And occasionally he actually gets something right although that is admittedly a relatively rare occurrence.

As I’ve said here many times before, I believe Lars has self-induced, intellectual/political dyslexia: he sees everything ass-backwards.

If TAH bans Lars because we disagree with him then we are no better than those he champions–they are the ones who want to stifle free speech–not us. Don’t fall into that trap.

        I say hear him out.

Then blow his silly ass out of the water…

  11. Commissar says:

Also, it would be good if any of you could name one right that was not gained through violence; riots at and/ violent protests at the very least.

    Name one.

Also, the law does not regard property destruction in of itself as violence. And you shouldn’t either.

Throwing a motor over cocktail at a cop; violence.
Setting fire to a police car with a cop in it; violence.

Setting a empty police car on fire; propriety destruction; not violence.

I am not advocating any of these acts specifically. Just pointing out the lack of care being used to label things “violence.”

    • Commissar says:

      Edit: property destruction. Not “propriety”.

    • 11B-Mailclerk says:

      Property destruction is violence.

Folks have an unalienable right to their property. Destroying it is violently violating their rights. Period. Full stop.

Marxists don’t believe in property rights, among a bunch of other rights, so they falsely deny they are violent when attacking the rights of their victims.

      More Marxist lies.

      • Just Lurkin says:

Property destruction robs people of the fruit of their labors. If some asswipe destroys my vehicle, for instance, he is effectively robbing me of the money I earned with my time and effort that I used to purchase it and the time and effort I spent maintaining it. But of course Lars doesn’t acknowledge this because it would be intellectual suicide for him to accept that individuals have the right to prioritize their property over the hysterical outrage of whatever designated victim group his political masters have decided to favor today.

      • rgr769 says:

Marxists don’t believe in individual rights, period. They only believe in the collective rights and power of the totalitarian police state. In every communist country that has ever existed, individual citizens have had no rights, just obligations to the state.

      • Forest Bondurant says:

Too add: Property rights include those which are secured in the Declaration of Independence, (e.g. “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness…”).

In terms of property, we enjoy the right to acquire and own property, including property that is sold as a product of labor.

In some cases (as we’ve seen in the riots), destruction of property denies the owner of the property to make/earn a living, pay bills, feed and shelter family, etc.

So I guess, in “Lars-Speak”, it’s okay to burn someone’s vehicle to deny them transportation so they can’t get to work, burn down a store or steal merchandise, burn down a home, or any other method of property destruction (because according to him and people who think like him, it’s all part of “restitution” or “wokeness”, and that it’s all okay because people have insurance to cover their losses.

I wonder how Lars and his ilk would like it if someone deprived them their way of making a living, and destroying things they worked for?

    • Animal says:

So if I want to protest for my right to not have my property destroyed and/or not be drug out of my vehicle at a “protest” it is ok for me to burn cars that belong to the “protestors”? Or maybe Soros’ house and property? Maybe even the Clinton’s?

It’s not a victimless crime. It’s wasting my tax money that has been involuntarily taken from me.

    • penguinman000 says:

I can name three (3) off the top of my head that aren’t granted by ANY government/institution of men. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

One of the core principles the Constitution was built upon is the preservation of private property.

Both of these very basic facts are obvious with even a cursory examination of the Constitution. You might actually want to read it one of these days.

    • 11B-Mailclerk says:

Trump is the first President since Reagan to vigorously oppose Marxism and the ChiComs. For that alone he deserves another term.

Most folks here have figured out Trump is our best bet to push China and Marxism back and regain lost ground. The odds of you overcoming that awareness are nil.

But do keep it up. Any stragglers need to be persuaded for Trump, and you do it so well by so exemplifying the alternative.

    • Hack Stone says:

So if Hack Stone was to light Lars automobile on fire and Lars would show displeasure at Hack’s actions, Hack would just reply that it is proprietary (property?) destruction, so it is not violence, so you have no recourse. Can you live with that?

    • NHSparky says:

Not even you’re stupid enough to believe the bullshit you spew, are you?

Fuck it. Guess you are, and you show no signs of changing that.

For there actions. So the 40 percent of our country that’s low info
        Believes there bullshit

    • Blaster says:

      All of them.

Rights are inherent in men and women.

We don’t have rights because we fought, protested or destroyed to have those rights.
