Store clerk shoots man after incident outside Fayetteville food mart

By: Jessica Patrick & Gilbert Baez
Police said a convenience store clerk shot a man Tuesday night after a group started bothering a homeless man outside the shop.

Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the Suburban Food Mart at 2112 Murchison Road around 11 p.m.

According to police, three people approached the store and started talking to a homeless man who was outside. When a store clerk and a paid security guard went outside and asked them to leave, the three began to assault the clerk and security guard.

The clerk and security guard then ran back into the store for their own safety.

Another employee fired gunshots at the three people, who police said were trying to break inside the store.

Elderly Woman Fires ‘Warning Shot’
Holds Intruder At Gunpoint After Canyon Country Burglary

Posted by: Louie Diaz
An elderly woman fired a “warning shot” after a man broke into her home, and held the suspect at gunpoint before deputies were able to take him into custody, officials said.

On Thursday around 2 p.m., deputies received reports of a possible burglary call on the 15000 block of Baker Canyon Road in Canyon Country, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The elderly female victim called 9-1-1 and said the male adult was knocking and trying to get into her house,” Miller said. “She did not know who he was.”

Moments later, the burglary suspect made entry into her home, according to Miller.

“She locked herself in a room, (and) the suspect allegedly forced entry into the room,” Miller said.

The victim had a firearm, and told the suspect to leave, according to Miller.

After the suspect exited the house, the woman fired one shot in the air and told the suspect to get on the ground, according to Sheriff’s officials.

“He was on the ground when deputies arrived,” Miller said.

Off-Duty Cook County Corrections Officer Shoots Armed Robber Who Was Trying To Carjack Him, Officials Say

CHICAGO (CBS) — An off-duty Cook County Sheriff’s corrections officer shot and wounded a man who was trying to carjack him along with two others in South Chicago early Thursday morning, officials said.

Around 2:30 a.m., the off-duty corrections officer was getting out of his car in the 7900 block of South Essex Avenue when three men walked up and tried to steal his car, according to the Sheriff’s office.

One of the men had a gun, the Sheriff’s office said.

The corrections officer fired his own gun and struck the armed man in the groin and arm, the Sheriff’s office said. The other two would-be robbers ran off, and the suspect who was shot was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was treated and released into Chicago Police custody.

While a warning shot to the front, center mass would be preferable, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, Granny did just fine stopping the fleeing felon.

The article didn’t say but I’m guessing Granny had a .44 mag Super Blackhawk and
what may seem like a warning shot was actually just muzzle rise due to her age.
The shock wave most likely knocked the perp down.

Nothing like a 6 pack score FIRST thing of a morning…or the scoring of a 6 pack…long as it’s not Bud Lite. Too bad we couldn’t score a double trifecta of DRTs, Wilted Willy needs cheering up.

Remember the “good old days” when the only business that needed armed security was a rough crowd bar or a bank, not a C-Store? Or when Granny could watch her afternoon soap operas in peace? And when the crooks at least had enough sense to not try and hi-jack armed officers? Pepperidge Farms does too.

I guess a ceramic .45 is a step up from a plasticized 9mm. It is kinda cute.

My dear ole Granny has been gone for more than 50 years but you would have needed more than gun to interrupt her soap operas.
