This is ridiculous!
Ballduster people.
Soup is the obvious winner of this contest.
Soupy, Soupy, Soupy!
Part of the Soup Group.
Soup FTW.
SOUP SAMMICH!
Somewhat interestingly, Lilyea and I are cancelling each other out. I’m a soup man, and he likes Balls.
Soup! It still takes really huge brass one’s to show up in full regala at Benning, LOL.
This site is a joke.
TSO Adds: and yet you come back every day.
Ouch!
Obamagirl: “Doctor, it hurts when I go like this.”
Doctor: “Don’t go like that!”
Obamagirl: “I want a second opinion.”
Doctor: “Okay, you’re ugly.”
Baddabing.
and yet you come back every day
Hardly, I look at this site twice a week the idiocy that exists on it would kill me if I looked at it more.. I am to busy with grad school. The majority of you are just brainwashed Hannity followers who do whatever he says. Somedays I hate you but somedays I pity you. You need to think for yourselves!!!
TSO adds: Let me guess, interpretive dance of primitive cultures is your MA? Pity me after you get a doctorate sweetheart, until then you are just a wannabe.
LMFTO @ 2-17AirCav – excellent!
Note to Obamagirl: It’s not nice to be a hater, even when it’s only some days. I thought that you knew better. I am crushed. Nevertheless, good luck in Big Bertha’s Beauty School.
p.s. You might want to hook up with a guy who calls himself insipid in the “Crybaby sues…” post. I’ve read your stuff and his (it may be a girl) and you two are a perfect match.
I hate to break it to you TSO but reading all of Hannity and Limbaughs books doesn’t give you a Masters degree
TSO Adds: Actually, I have a juris doctorate, and I’ve never read a single one of either Hannity or Limbaugh’s books. I have listened to one of Rush’s on Audio book. Which incidentally is the same number of AlGore books I have read. Again, really want to compare brainpans?
2-17: They aren’t the same person?
@11 I think a lot of what is posted here is pretty radical right wing old white guy stuff to, but they also post and raise my awareness of stuff I wouldn’t know about. TAH may not be as moderate or liberal as you, or I, would like them to be, but this blog performs a welcome service. You obviously like it somewhat cause you keep posting.
Thank you FCOD. Although I wouldn’t really say I am “radical right wing old white guy”…I am conservative. I guess I am old (???) As far as radical, not so much. Been to 54 grateful dead shows, which means I am never allowed to be a part of the VRWC. And I actually don’t mind hippies, one of my buddies is a greenie hippie, and he’s agreed to allow me to live on his commune when Planet X screws up the planet, all because I am a lover of people.
You’re a lawyer that explains alot.
TSO you’re obviously more intelligent than most of the regulars here, you need to be more mindful of the ones you’re associated with. If you lay down with dogs you wake up with fleas.
#11: I am to busy with grad school
As a grammar nazi, this bothers me. Even more so because you are pursuing a Master’s degree. When exactly did the quality of English education go to hell in a handbasket?
For you: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/misspelling
To and too should be 11.
V/R,
A Lowly Squid
TSO, how can they throw you into the standard box if you keep proving their assumptions wrong?
It’s really unkind of you not to fit into the stereotypical mold (says the conservative, former Navy, artist finishing his Masters from a SF art school).
@20 Microsoft office and spell check fix those mistakes I admit grammar is not my strongest attribute. I am getting my masters in Philosophy and Womens studies
TSO; I noticed the bobogirl still hasn’t ponied up what her Masters is going to be in. Although, A grad degree is something to be revered if it is the engineering world, I just don’t get too excited if it’s in women’s studies or art history, etc.
@15. I don’t think so. the girl with the big O is funny to read. Insipidy doo dah is just a nutjob. Multiple personality disorder? Perhaps.
OG, tell me you are kidding. Seriously. That has to be a joke right?
If not, I am going to go on the assumption that you are pursuing what you love, not what will get you employed, but what exactly does one do with those degrees?
Kierkegaard weeps.
Microsoft office and spell check fix those mistakes I admit grammar is not my strongest attribute. I am getting my masters in Philosophy and Womens studies
Perhaps you’d consider a lucrative career in sandwich making?
Oh goodie. This means we can have discussions on comparative existentialism. Can’t wait!
“Was mich nicht umbringt, macht mich starker.” – Discuss.
(Although, to be honest I thought it was “macht mir starker.” I only took German to study Nietsche, and now I just don’t speak it at all well.)
OG,
I have a BA, and MBA, and a JD. I persued an education at great cost with the idea of obtaining skills that would make me employable. If you are actually spending money to get a masters in Philosophy and Womens Studies, you are a fool. To teach, you will need a Ph.D. If you can’t teach, you have obtained no marketable skills. Therefore, please understand that when you can not get a job, it is not the “man,” the “vast right wing conspiracy,” or the greedy corporations that are keeping you down, it is your own foolish choices.
I teach occasionally at the law school here. At the end of each class I tell students that if they want a job when they get out, they can only take one “and the law” class (sexual identity and the law, race and the law, genders issues and the law, etc.). These are vanity classes for the professor and can occasionally be interesting, but they are not a course of study. Universities do not do students any favors by creating these identity politics degrees. These should be a class, not a major.
S.
They should have a “TAH and the Law” class based on the number of claimed law suits against us. Hell, you could even have a few days devoted to the topic of Army CID and federal search warrants as applied to those not in the Army.
Would be a hoot and a half let me tell you. I’d settle for a refresher course for everyone who threatens us on what “libel” really is…
One can be a Master of studying Women? Hell’s Bells, every joe on Fort Sill has that degree!
OG proves once again that education doesn’t make you smart. In her case it may actually be making her dumber.
@32, I believe the term is “dumberer”.
TSO,
Not to mention at least a day to cover FOIA and publicly available information, and another to analyze and debate the Stolen Valor Act.
I am quite confident that more than a few folks here either have interviewed prospective employees or have been on panels for that purpose. Many applicants for lucrative positions make the mistake of thinking that their MA in a soft science gives them an edge. Well, it doesn’t. Interviewers know that today’s MA is about the equivalent of yesterday’s AA. For this reason, many applicants are requested to submit a writing sample that is penned at the interview site, not brought with them. Excellent communication skills are essential and writing skills lead the way. Most colleges are adept at one thing: collecting tuition in advance. That’s what they’re about. If one wants a good education, he needs to educate himself. That takes much reading and a great deal of writing. The folks like the girl with the Big O who are not fluent or capable writers never learned this simple truth.
@34
Lesson 5: “The law is not your happy sock: you can’t just go throwing lawsuits around because you had a bad day.”
@29 I want to be a writer I have already started working on my first book which is about the widening gap between the military and civilians.
It was a lot wider during the Civil War and the Revolution than it is now, so presumably you mean that in a certain time frame.
I disagree it is wider now than it has ever been
Disagree all you want, but what basis do you have for it? We’ve never seen such a wide swath of socio-economic enlistees as we have now. Back in the Civil War rich could buy their way out of service. Or are you saying that merely because there aren’t as many who served today, that people are more distant.
Having had some practical application in this subject, I can flat out tell you that given an opportunity most civilians are happy to help out a veteran, they just generally don’t know how to do so. So, what metrics are you accounting for to show a gap?
A writer, eh? Here you go. You’ll need these: ….,,,
Or are you saying that merely because there aren’t as many who served today, that people are more distant
That will be the main crux of my argument, I know many veterans who have returned home and feel detached and feel that they don’t fit in. I will also examine if the gap is wider in different regions of the country such as the northeast being more detached from the military than say the South. I met very few people from the northeast while I was in and alot from the midwest and south
That assertion is simply not borne out by the statistics.

Look at Myth #1 there.
Spot on, cav.
As for the rest of you:
Enough. I’m calling it. Women’s Studies? Writer with atrocious grammar? There’s no way, no goddamned way that OG isn’t just a regular who is pulling a troll on you folks. It’s all just a little too perfect of a fit to the idiot lefty stereotype. Can’t happen. Impossible.
But most egregiously, to bring that shit on the J McB Stolen Valor championship thread? I suspect a Ballduster fan is behind this. Has anyone seen Jonn and OG in the same room? Might be a Clark Kent/Superman thing going on.
And, while I reject the premise that the North East has a disproprtionate gap, I look forward to you asserting such in a map form, so I can take that and match it against a red state/blue state map.
The reality is that I have been treated well by my birthstaters of Maine, and like shit in Virginia at times. I suggest you will find no correlation with regards to that that differs from any other such statistic. I don’t need anyone to statistically show me that your average Southie is a bigger A-hole than a person from Charleston, I’ve lived in both. But, you would have to show that the Masshole is even worse to the soldier than everyone else to prove any correlation.
I know for a fact that many prominent NYC coroporations won’t hire Iraq War Vets to do security jobs because of the whole PTSD stigma.
But you can’t write a book on anecdotal evidence vice actual resarch and expect someone to pick it up, can you?
If you know it for a fact, then forward along at least the names of these companies so I can go after them. After all, that would violate the ADA. As for the PTSD stigma, well, YEAH, because all these clowns claiming to have it and doing stupid shit. We have Matthis claiming PTSD is why he does all his stuff, and he got it from talking to people.
Teddy, I also am coming to that conclusion, but if this is a scam, it would appear to be long running. It’s just too cliche for me to believe though….
In another post, Obamagirl wrote, “I like how its ok for you to paint with a broad brush with occupy but when people said tea party folks were all racists you said it was a liberal media.. You’re just a pawn for the right wing lilyea I wonder who gives you your marching orders.”
1.The word is okay, not “ok.”
2.The word its is possessive. You have confused its with it’s, the contraction for it is.
3.Please insert a comma before “but.” The clause which follows that conjunction is an independent one. Please see a primer regarding proper usage of the comma.
4.Please capitalize both first letters in tea party. Please see a primer regarding capitalization.
5.Please insert a comma after the word racists. Please see a primer regarding proper usage of the comma.
6.The word media is plural. Watch that subject and verb agreement!
7. I am glad that you used a period, but–if you please– try to use only one for each declarative sentence.
That was only the first of two sentences. I cannot do this any longer. The second sentence will kill me. Best of luck with your desired writing career!
Regards, Editor
I already have a title for your book! “I have no idea what’s going on right now” by OG.
